Least favorite? I would like to mention the Sandvich nerf, the second Tomislav nerf during Pyromania, the Love & War minigun nerfs, the 2013 BFB and Crit-a-Cola buffs, the Atomizer, all pre-2017 versions of the Sandman, the Grenade Launcher consistency buffs, the Dead Ringer in all of its incarnations, the Jungle Inferno flamethrower changes, the Meet Your Match Natascha and Brass Beast nerfs, the Direct Hit, the Loose Cannon changes after the Mecha Update, the Dalokohs Bar "buffs" during Gun Mettle, the Dalokohs Bar nerf after Jungle Inferno, the Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol buff from Jungle Inferno, the holster nerfs from Tough Break for the only two viable Heavy melees, the Concheror buffs, the Beggar's Bazooka in all incarnations, the Scorch Shot buffs, Mad Milk, and finally Sniper as a whole.
Beggar's Bazooka takes so long to load, if the Soldier doesn't have a shotgun you can kill him after the initial barrage.
Listen guys I know you're donating to charity but you're also getting a medal which means you should feel bad about yourselves
The Soldier can just kill a non-overhealed Heavy with one barrage around a corner, without having to aim at all.
tap m1 is a thing. GL's random 95-105 dmg aswell as location hits he means.
You're applying an absurd ideological purity test, the only purpose of which is to solve your cognitive dissonance by asserting that people who are donating to charity must be doing it because they're flawed. If everyone behaved like you, the amount of people being helped in the world would be far lower. You can either sit on your high horse free of donations from those people, or you can have an effective fundraiser and help people. You're aware the point is to help people, right?
All I'm saying is charity is better handled anonymously 100% of the time in any event. btw charity isn't a free pass to avoid critism lol
The BB should take a little longer for the first reload and shorten the other two so total time is unchanged Also Heavy shouldn't be an unkillable god, and I like playing Heavy, all he needs is the ability to move while crouch revved (Sniper can crouch move while scoped, Heavy should too while revved), and maybe shorten the time for full damage and accuracy to 2/3 of a second after spin up?
Of course. Your criticisms are just awful.
beggar's viability entirely remains in the first rocket. Barrage is just a gimmick, an "extra". why not remove the minigun's cancer instead of *again* trying to pointlessly dance around a bad nerf?
I balance around Valve, what they want out of balance. I don't think they'll completely remove the L%W nerf, either because they personally like the mechanic, they personally don't like fighting Heavy, or they're too prideful to remove it.
The Hugs.tf team spent months planning, organizing, and creating a charity fundraiser. They put in an absurd amount of time, with no recompense, to create something that they believe will help the world. They included a free, valueless in-game medal as a cool thing that donors can get. A facepunch user, sitting at his computer, who has not done anything for the event whatsoever: "this doesn't meet my standards; they use their screen real estate in a bad way. Why would they not intentionally limit themselves to 10% of their potential donations?" It's tough to know who's right tbh
No one is arguing that Heavy should be immortal. However, losses should feel fair; no one wants to die a seemingly unavoidable death because someone decided to use a weapon that makes your life harder just because. Oftentimes it seems like your deaths as the Heavy are caused by luck or lack thereof (Spy), weapons or classes you cannot effectively fight against (Sniper, Demo), or cheesy tactics you have no choice but to flee or die from (corner strafing with burst damage, Scorch Shot spam, etc). Is this a problem with how Heavy is designed? Yes. Is it a problem with how unlocks are designed? Yes. Is it a problem with how other classes are designed relative to Heavy? Yes. This is a complicated issue.
tell that to engineer whose opponents can all switch to DH or LnL on a whim with no consequence
Being unable to effectively fight against certain classes is the entire point.
The issue where Heavy is vulnerable to corner spam is unfixable unless they let Heavy switch weapons while revving down, which the team might not do as it might make Heavy too good in comp
Well I'm not singing the praises of those weapons either--in fact, I think I mentioned the Direct Hit in my litany of stupid balance decisions.
Scout: Engie Demoman: Scout, Pyro, Sniper. Soldier: Heavy, Pyro Your class has drawbacks. You can't just get rid of all of Heavy's unfavorable situations because you only play Heavy.
everyone can move around a corner. that's not class specific
Unfortunately you seem to have severely misunderstood what I said and was responding to.
indeed I have. my bad
Though I will grant that I should've used selective quoting on such a large post.
Least favorite is a tie for the Panic Attack changes and the Eviction Notice going from fast punches to a extremely useless and pointless GRU jr. when you should just be using the GRUs if you wanted to run fast in the first place, I want to punch rapidly without suffering the same penalty for GRUs. Most of heavy's melee weapons went from fun to why would I want to ever equip these over stock fists or the two strongest utility fists.
Scout: Well, there was Bonk!, but I suppose that was nerfed a tad. Scout can also use the pistol, Flying Guillotine, and Short Stop to harass Engineer; he has some options. Heavy has no options versus Sniper and Demoman, he just has to pray either the Sniper misses his shots, or the Demoman is stupid enough to engage at point blank. The Fists of Steel can only help you to avoid some damage, not retaliate. Demoman: Scout vs. Demoman is not as decisive as Heavy vs. Demoman; Demoman can still kill Scouts at his optimal ranges with zoning and preparation. Pyro does not counter Demoman. Sniper counters everything, but even still, Demoman can at least charge stickies or lob grenades that are guaranteed to deal 100 damage against them. Heavy can deal maybe 20 damage at long range against a Sniper before eating 150-450 damage. Soldier: The Heavy vs. Soldier matchup is more like 50/50 if we're being generous, but in actuality it's probably 55/45 in Soldier's favor. The Soldier can be shredded by the Heavy in the open and in the air, but is such a versatile class that he can either abuse several unlocks (DH, Beggar's Bazooka, etc) to gain an additional advantage, or abuse splash damage and cover. Pyro does not counter Soldier.
Don't forget you can also win cool prizes from hugs.tf, last year I won an Australium Sticky Bomb launcher from their raffle so be sure to donate.
Now you've made me think. The trope of health equaling power does alleviate it's greatest problems. It couldn't work as a cheap last resort anymore, because those moments of low health mean little damage put out. If the main purpose of the improved Caber would be to just goof off and erase Snipers from a pub, it would work great! The only little things I would add were a 20% damage vulnerability when active and cut the chaff around the stats. The vuln is required for the same reason as the Bushwacka has it: to increase risk for the reward. In regards to chaff, this is my take on the subject with three stats: Ullapool Caber, Level 10 Stick Bomb, Deals explosive damage on first hit, explosive damage is determined by user health, 20% damage vulnerability when active. Nothing else is required! Another comparison with the Bushwacka would be drawn, as they would occupy the same level of balance.
I want to stress that the whole point of a Heavy rework would be to make it less of a linear class with linear upsides and linear drawbacks/weaknesses. If Dave Riller is serious about his intention to work toward the generalization of the roster (within reason), then this should be one of their goals.
Heavy doesn't need a rework. He is one of the core factors of TF2 casual gameplay balance. Classes don't all need to be generalists for the game to work. He needs buffs to actually be useful outside of only when he's revved up, but he most definitely doesn't need a rework.
Valve hired all 12 developers at Campo Santo, the developer of Firewatch.
Wasn't the director of Firewatch a super hypocrit towards PewDiePie?
