I actually saw one use a Golden Wrench on pl_frontier before playing with a friend.
I think Valve will give Heavy very unique weapons similarly to the Pyro Pack. I would also be fine with Heavy getting from weapons than Pyro in JI and the Heavy Update, as Heavy doesn't have many weapons.
https://i.imgur.com/GYdSwDx.png I cant believe valve scrapped cases
People just don't know what they are talking about. These are not heavy re-balances, there are just straight up overpowered buffs. I bet people who are suggesting these heavy "balances" don't even have 30 hours on the class.
Was away from the game for a bit so I thought I'd come back and finally finish the Pyro contracts. It's very hard to get the extinguish mission on the Thermal Thruster when your entire team is Pyro isn't it?
ask someone to use cow mangler at spawn
From the stupid contract goals, the jetpack extinguishing might be the dumbest. Seriously, in what sort of situation would you EVER need to use that? Pyro has a flamethrower for that. P.S. I believe most people did that with someone going cow mangler soldier and blasting themselves with the charge shot, setting themselves on fire. Ask randos in casual and I bet someone will help you out.
dw, managed to grind it out in Gorge and then did the Hot Hand contract in 5 minutes on Degroot
I think if I had to make a prediction on a weapon that would get in, (or have the concept stolen from by Valve while they make their own model with a shitty VMT and horrible clipping) it would be the Tactigatling. I'm not great with ideas for stats, but I would guess it would be similar to v1 Panic Attack, less the shell preloading and accuracy mod, and with a higher clip size. Maybe a small heal-on-shot or health-on-kill bonus? The main drawback of heavy's lunchbox items is that you have to sit there for a long time to nom through them, meaning 1) you're a sitting duck and 2) you can't move up with your team while eating. So while it obviously shouldn't have the DPS of a minigun, allowing players the mobility of fat scout playstyle while being able to retain heavy's tankability and adding more potential for single-shot items should stir up the game a bit. But like I said: balancing is not my forté so maybe someone else can chime in here.
I would love some Workshop creator to make a Biker Jacket for Soldier. Uggh, I'd love to have such cosmetic in game, would go so amazing with my set.
I kinda like the stupid contract goals. Sure you're never going to get them if you just play the game you always have. But they try and get you to play the classes differently or play with new weapons than what the majority usually would.
Put them on making the TF2 TV show that the main team was too busy/lazy to do.
you donate and then you get a random crit chance that makes you win.
Can someone explain to me what does host_thread_mode do and why setting it 1-2 fucks up local server completely?
I don't know in particular why host_thread_mode fucks up listen servers, but this may help you: Frame Order
Yeah, I'm specifically interested in why is it breaking listen servers.
After playing for a couple days after not having touched TF2 since well before F2P happened I just have to say: there are so many more hackers in the game than I ever remember before. Maybe I've blocked it all out but at least 4/7 of the competitive matches I've played have had ridiculously obvious scripting snipers. Otherwise the game has held up great, though I miss having favorite servers I would go back to - maybe I'll find community again.
A few reasons the most obvious one being it's a free game, if you get banned you can just make another account and start again There's a few popular hacks for sale making it easy for anyone with like 5 dollars to buy and go around aimbotting easily (often going without punishment, hack developers have sneaky ways of not getting vac'd) That, and I think the community has to do with it. it's become very toxic. There's a sort of universal feeling of "has valve forgotten us?" and toxicity which i'm sure contributes to it
Just had hands down the best run of MvM I've ever experienced and it was a team of inexperienced people. The medic had done 994 tours but the rest of us had <5 each. The robots never capped and not a single credit was lost even in the last wave.
What tour was it?
Metro Malice on Two Cities, I don't know whether it's a difficult one because I'm inexperienced myself, all I know is the Rottenburg ones are harder. Still chuffed regardless
eh, botbash is easy. hamlet's first wave is one of the hardest waves in mvm, but it gets easier as you progress.
I usually go Bonk whenever I play on the first wave of that.
Do you think Valve will ever fix Thermal Thruster's horrible clipping? The HUD's side-rockets on it seem a bit slimmer than the actual in-game model, so maybe they did do something for it internally, or maybe I'm just wrong about the HUD. Shame there's no way they're going to bring in the community-made jetpack they had the HUD icon for at JI's launch now. It looked really nice and simple, the Thermal Thruster is a bit of a mess design-wise, but I guess it's just because it was never planned for it to retract into itself.
The thruster also has no lods and is a pretty complex model, the folding wasn't planned at all, one of the rockets has a dent in it and the folded rocket clips out of the dent.
Here's an idea for extra incentives to play Competitive Mode: Add Achievements for Competitive! "Finish your Placements", "Win 10 Games in a row", "Drop 10 Medic Ubers in Competitive Mode", "Uber 25 fellas in Competitive Mode", the list goes on. Much like Achievement-Unlocks said Achievements could grant you items, an obvious one would be a medal much like the Dueling Badge which tracks your games played, won, lost, and Medals earned - say a pseudo-Version 1 Casual/Competitive screen. Add a Competitive-exclusive War Paint Collection. Each War-Paint is Untradable and Uncraftable. Just for playing the game, a few random users have the chance to receive one which has a random wear, pattern(obviously) and an incredibly slim chance to be strange. This makes it so there is no financial gain, but just a personal lil' thing. After finishing your placements, give the player an untradable and uncraftable Competitive-Mode strange filter.
I miss the optimistic rating
I finished Operation Gear Grinder for the first time and got a carbonado flamethrower, can they turn down the jigglebones it flails all over the place
Before doing the Achievement-related stuff, Valve really needs to implement server-side achievements to TF2. Achievement items would actually be valued then and not just put into the trash next to the gibus.
