TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V6 - Year of the Guard Dog SURVEY IN OP

Aside from defense bonuses being astronomically ass and some others being super-grindy, they perfected contracts and even added the good old fashioned TF2 spin to em. Also since the contracker is here to stay one can only hope that if a Campaign 4 comes out we'll get a re skinned one or something completely different since I adore the concept of the progress tracker for the campaign being a wearable item. One personal gripe I have is that I wish we could swap between the styles we've unlocked for the contracker. Also valve please make the Gun Mettle Coin and Tough Break Stamp wearable in the action slot a la contracker.
I'm no gay but 60% is 60%.
That's way way too much. It's like almost a guarenteed 195 damage melee crit. Light classes can't even counter a medic on Casual sometimes, that's the reason why we have random crits removed from Competitive. It should be skill>luck not the otherway around imo.

If I know that this engineer/medic/sniper is almost certainly going to melee crit me, then i should try to stay out of melee range. It's the logical counter-play.
Medic is a bit faster than most other classes though.
One issue with this that comes to mind is the melee hit registration, although that's more a problem with how melee works.
A bit more elaboration:
Is it really luck > skill, in the case of melee crits?
The thing is that sometimes, saying things are luck-based is not really helpful.
Rolling a 1 on a normal die, and rolling a 1 on a hundred-sided dice are both luck based. The thing is that the latter isn't very likely to happen, its far less likely to happen than the former.
If I have a 60% chance of something happening, that is still luck based. But the key part is the chance. The chance is high enough that I can rely on it happening most of the time.
It's like how you can rely on the fact that most people who go to a casino will come out poorer.
An other thing is that most of the time melee crits will kill at least 7/9 classes, this means this event will have a large impact.
The third thing is that the range of melee is limited. Most of the time you are more likely to die if you go closer to them, than if you go far away.
What this means is that this event can be countered, and that it is worth acting against due to the impact and the likelihood it will happen.
Skill is an effective counter in this case.

Paragraphs are too hard
Dont even think about it
He's literally starting arguments himself at this point. He quoted his own post to elaborate more on a point nobody was responding to him about.

I meant to automerge them, but someone else posted by then.

Basically, I forgot about the edit function.

why can you inspect slot/class tokens in the backpack menu but not the construction pda
[t]https://i.imgur.com/Y1RLRWK.png[/t]
you can inspect a lot of other items (mostly passive items) but they don't show up too
what if an MVM update introduced new types of botkillers that could be applied to any war paint-able weapon like festivizers?
or maybe they could finally add stickers like they have in csgo, I believe they're already coded in for the most part
Remember when achievement maps were the hot topic back in the day in tf2?I still see some people play them but they mostly screw around. The maps are so old that i get a bit nolstagic as you can see a lot of influence from the time they were made such as achievement turbo
Yes, this is great and all, but you're missing the point. See, Valve can't re-invent the wheel with an ordinary MvM update.
Funny thing is I've played through about half of Titanium Tank with a couple of people here and it has some stuff not seen in official MVM maps, like the medic bots using shields and the new Pyro weapons. It's isn't re-invent the wheel type of content but it's new and fresh for most people.
I'm not a big MVM fan but I'm having fun with Titanium Tank and it frustrates me to no end to see Valve just sit on fun community content for a game mode that hasn't gotten an update in years.

I would like to somehow incorporate Miss Pauling talking again and make the classes react to contract complėtion again.

cant wait to see a Strange Unusual Festivized Botkillerized Stickered Professional Killstreak Frame Molester
but seriously, they have bronze and silver textures done, just slap those on weapons, copy the community made mvm missions and youve got an update. i'd play it

Is the developer who worked with the bot ai still in the TF team or did he left?

You already can get pretty eye searing. You can have like 4 unusuals + killstreak effect.

While they might stop selling Passes over the Mann Co Shop, there are still some on the Community Market.
Will those still remain intact months after the Campaign ended since Contracts are essentially "endless" now?

Might all get bought out.
worst case scenario they will just become mementos, like the old beta comp pass.

Gun Mettle Passes are also still available though
Get-Rich-Quick-Scheme: Buy the entire stock of the steam-market. Hope that they will still be activatable after Sunday, Sell for x4.
The item schema was updated to change the description of the contracker and campaign pass, from "The Jungle Inferno ConTracker grants access to contracts during the campaign" to "The Jungle Inferno ConTracker gives access to Jungle Inferno contracts". Seems like you'll be able to buy the campaign whenever, is this the last campaign? :worried:
edit: I just checked in game and the descriptions weren't updated, strange

I've spent over 1k hours on gaming deluxes #5 turbov
I used to be an admin on an achievement server named Uberz, it was really fun. They make really good social spaces, until valve killed it off.
You already can get pretty eye searing. You can have like 4 unusuals + killstreak effect.
On Medic you can do 5 Unusuals at once. One hat, one misc, one "second misc," an Unusual Medigun and an Unususal Meet the Medic (as it automatically pulls out your Medigun model). This does not factor in the Meet the Medic's default particle effects (which basically cause FPS on a lot of computers to drop to 5).
I'm having the worst game of mvm right now. It is only normal mode and I am playing with a bunch of fucking morons.
One of these retards voted to restart the map when we failed the final wave, and it passed. Why would you do that?
[editline]6th February 2018[/editline]
Well, I left the server because there were only 2 other players left. We had just failed a wave again, and the same guy voted to restart again.

Sounds more like you will have access to the contracts if you have the ConTracker forever, just like the new blog said. The pass won't be sold after February 11.

The way they worded it + the item schema change does make me think theyll just stop selling it.
...Might invest in that steam market thing. Maybe. Then again they might aswell just always sell it and each Campaign will be treated as a "Folder"
The fact that they just changed it makes me also think this was a last-minute decision. Why?

I have my doubts they will always sell it. That would completely destroy the novelty of campaigns. And if a new players wants to buy a pass, he can buy them all and play them? Just sounds off to me.
It might not have been a last-minute decision, but a surprise for us, just like the Campaigns sales and extensions.
Why do these people I am playing with find normal difficulty in mvm so hard?
Like there were 4 engineers in one team, but no teleporters.
What hellhole am I in?

MvM Purgatory.
Only play mvm on custom map servers such as sig's or potato's because the rest of the official valve mvm servers are filled with morons.
These guys have failed a normal mode wave like 20+ times at this point.
