i want strange version of my selfmades. >:C
Caber +old damage and draw speed -can be shot by hitscan weapons, causing it to explode prematurely. Will still do damage to the person that shoots it if they are in range, but they and the demo are the only ones to take damage.
I could name a whole bunch I'd want, heh... Nostromo Napalmer Maul Three-Rune Blade Iron Curtain Pip Boy Lugarmorph Golden Wrench ( although I'd need to somehow get one to magically appear in my backpack first lol )
I'd love to see a new CRATE (not case, KTHX) with: Strange Tide Turner Strange Buffalo Steak Sandvich (and have it be amazingly non-bugged so it can take SP: Allied Healing Done and SP: Teammates Extinguished out of the box without 6 patches) Strange Second Banana (as above) Eureka Effect Strangifier (seriously, it's the last fucking Grord weapon lacking a strange variant) Moonman Backpack Strangifier (I'd be nice to have a strange Grord cosmetic that was not the Mutton Chops) Vita Saw Strangifier (We can be assured this will be an -ifier due to the weapon's remarkable visual similarity to an ADAM Harvester) Strange B.A.S.E. Jumper (levels up on kills while explosive jumping, can accept up to 3 strange parts) Strange Hot Hand Strange Dragon's Fury Strange Gass Passer (levels up on players soaked, can accept all MvM strange? Iron Curtain Strangifier Strange Part: Robots Hit (works on any weapon that can deal damage as well as Mad Milk and Jarate) Strange Unarmed Combat (1% chance to unbox, just like the Kritz) Strange Fortified Compound (1% chance) Lugermorph Strangifier (1% chance) Strange Gunslinger (1% chance to unbox) (ya rly, I own one and mine would go down in price, but it's been 6 1/2 YEARS) OR an exceedingly rare series four unusual item. Yes, including non "hat" equip region "miscs" because we're Valve and we finally fix fucking bugs. Also 1st/2nd/3rd gen general effects were getting tired AF. ...a man can dream, can't yet?
Why does Valve leave so much freaking money on the table, adding new stranges can't be hard.
I don't really get why anyone would still want a Golden Wrench. Maybe I'm just projecting, but considering how high-profile the destruction of a lot of them for charity was, I feel like owning one now would just kinda be announcing to everyone you meet that you were one of the guys who cared more about virtual items than the welfare of sick children.
Your Strange Gunslinger would lose a lot of value if not for two things: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/241237/2fe4dcac-2e08-4760-bd03-f300d8842605/image.png
Add Big Kill or else
What's wrong with wanting a Golden Wrench? I like it honestly better then the Pan or Saxxie personally, although I would prefer it if it were strange... and I could keep my professional killstreak kit, pumpkin bombs and exorcism from my aussie wrench on it lol... Pumpkin Bombs, if they can even be applied, would be worthless on Gunslinger as mini's don't fire rockets...
Made a list of all the weapons' pirate names, made versions for all the ones that don't have them.
It can be applied to Gunslingers; I have one with the spell myself. It does nothing, but it adds an extra line of text to the description which people value for some reason. It could be technically considered a "glitched" item in that regard, even though anybody could create them easily when the spells existed.
Did they add those Contract items to the drop list, because a few hours ago i got the Second Banana from a drop. I've been out of the loop lately
Proposal for a Diamondback rework, to make it less OP and more sidegrade-like: The Diamondback +30% Damage (~44 damage per bullet, ~66 max ramp up) -60% Magazine Size (2 shots in clip) -50% reload speed (~1.75 seconds to reload a clip) Successfully sapping a building or killing an enemy with a shot from this gun will increase its max magazine size by 1, up to a limit of 6 bullets in a magazine. So, Diamondback's biggest flaw is that it rewards you for... playing Spy, instead of rewarding you for something unique or "different". It also unfarily rewards - you get a huge damage boost just by stabbing somebody, and there are barely any downsides that even noticeably affect the gun. This iteration keeps the "rewards you with power for doing something important" gimmick, but in a unique way - encouraging either focusing Engineers or gunning down fools. It also takes a lot of unnecessary power out of the gun, bringing it more in line with other revolvers
Worthless. Why would I bother with this when I can just run stock instead? If my aim with stock is consistent, it's an all-around better option than this one in pretty much every way. At medium range, stock does 40-50 damage and can kill anything that isn't the Heavy within its 6 shots. With ramp-up to 60, it's a guaranteed 3-shot on any class at 150 HP or below, and at 4 shots it kills anything that isn't the Heavy. And since humans generally don't have perfect aim and Spy isn't meant to be taking 1v1s anyways, the extra bullets make a massive difference. Your proposed stats don't change time-to-kill in any really meaningful way that, say, the Ambassador or the Enforcer wouldn't. I would run Enforcer before running this. A gun that is totally useless before I've already done something to endanger myself is worthless, especially if its benefits don't outweigh the cost of being pretty much without a self defense option until I get a pick or sap some shit.
Alright, any input from any non-eternally-angry Spy mains?
That's not me being angry, that's me telling you that it's worthless and explaining why. It is factually worthless.
And my post was me passive-aggressively telling you that your criticism may be factual, but it was still shitty and it's why nobody can take it seriously. I'd sooner accept criticism from ASIC then from you spending 2 paragraphs telling me my idea is stupid and I was stupid for having it.
Where did I say your idea was stupid and you were stupid for having it? I said the weapon, with its proposed stats, was worthless. And then I explained why. You're reading between the lines when there's nothing there, I didn't toe into anything resembling personal insult. I responded to you in what I thought was a detailed and constructive manner, letting you know why your solution wouldn't work. I apologize if I came off as hostile, but I genuinely did not say anything that should have given you that indication.
Thank you for apologizing. Do you have any suggestions to improve my suggestion or do you think there's no value in a Spy primary/"secondary" with the earning more power mechanic?
I find most weapons that "earn more power" to be either broken (current Diamondback, Reserve Shooter, etc) or useless (Air Strike). I like the idea behind the Diamondback- its stats certainly fits its aesthetics- but unfortunately, sticking to the current "earn more power" design results in something that's either disgustingly overpowered (current Diamondback) or almost totally useless (original Diamondback). I'm leery at most of Blackavar's balance ideas, but he once proposed a version of the weapon that would reward consecutive shots. I believe it was higher damage or firing speed. That one interested me because while it would likely start out as a poorer self-defense option than, say, Stock or Enforcer, it would become more valuable in extended fights against a single opponent. I suppose this also functions as an "earn more power" mechanic, but a more real-time one that both players actively control. I generally think these are good- stuff like the Ubersaw and Big Earner worik in this way.
here's a sugestion: your balacing skills are worthless if you do not adress the inherent issue. please drop them until you can get a real grasp of the mechanic you're trying to tackle and then, once you're ready to take a hit for how bad they are, consider sharing them with us. sincerely yours, a non-etternally-angry spy main.
So Heavy is busted and needs fixing, good to see we've reached a consensus.
Eh, nah. I'd rather have them each have a strangifier / strange versions. Universal strangifier would fuck with the value, etc. Imagine If you wanted a Strange Eureka, but the Universal Strangifier was like 50 eur.
Not even as a rare unbox? I understand that a weapon like this could be potentially dangerous to the value of some stranges, but there are many weapons that are clearly never getting the quality. A universal strangifier would be a last resort here, and should hopefully be rare enough to match.
Such strangifier would basically be a fuck you to everyone who has rare stranges like Strange HHHH
Just like the price of the Strange Kritz plummeted after it was re-released? I feel like the benefit to the larger audience who wants a way to strangify certain weapons far outweighs the loss of a few collectors with way too much money on their hands. Artificially-enforced rarity to the extent of the Strange HHHH is not a good thing for the game at large, and only stands to benefit the people who can afford to spend $300+ on a single item.
No thanks. I'd preffer them to keep economy healthy, not ruin it. Let rare items be rare. If everyone were running around with let's say "Burning team captains", having one wouldn't feel good anymore, would it?
Strange HHH isn't even tradeable, dude. Once it's used, it becomes worthless. The Strangifier only has value as a collector's item, it doesn't have a real practical usage. A universal strangifier may decrease its value, but honestly I don't see why it would, considering the end result still remains untradeable. A Universal Strangifier solves the problem of many impossible or near-impossible stranges. This has much more economic value than keeping things the way they are.
i'm glad they finally brought the new weapons to the drop list, now i can stop caring about these stupid contracts
Yes it is https://steamcommunity.com/market/search?q=horseless+headless The first few hundred axes were.
