asic i told you before go back to your quarantine zone before you start riling everyone up here
If you don't want me to talk about random crits here, then you shouldn't mention them. Also, I was not the one that made the other thread necessary.
Random damage spread decided a lot of match ups, I remember the old Loch essentially having a 50/50 chance of one hit killing 125 classes. Bad times.
It doesn't really bother me when that happens.
Wait, what, there's random crit survey in game???
There is the feedback survey at the end of a game just like the map or match overall feedback.
I've been playing daily, never had it

Yes, years-old straw polls from reddit and the steam discussions with no duplicate response checking would indeed say something like that. Unfortunately for you, the opinion of bad players on game balance has always had very little sway in the competitive gaming industry.
Yoh Lots of people noticed when grenades would need 2 3 or 4 directs to kill consistently. Or when machina or loch would occasionnaly 1shot. Or melee not consistently 2 shotting light classes. Ddifference with ramp up and falloff is that they are intuitive and they have a purpose. Random damage deviation has no real firm basis on reality. Yes it's true that default configuration needs to be updated, but that doesn't mean the minimal reaction to damage spread removal wasn't good thing, on fact people praised the consistency at long last.
Please, for the love of god, either take it back into the random crit thread, or stop replying to ASIC entirely.
i wish sv_pure was 0 again so my guns can eject their casings on the right direction
I miss sprays being visible in valve servers, only cuz I used to genuinely like seeing the massive collage of different images from so many people against a wall. Even if 30% of the ones I'd see were borderline porn, but I didn't care about it.
On Valve's new website Smith, Riller, and Casali are all in the "other experts" part instead of game design. Maybe game design is just for their in dev games?
Is it difficult to make whitelist of mod types that wouldnt be used as a cheat?
They don't want people using visual mods to level the playing field, and to not compete with paid cosmetics. At least TF2 supports custom huds compared to CSGO where they don't have them to level the playing field again.
I like the idea of having them disabled by default but you can enable them. Don't have them in MM ofc, but they're just a nice bit of extra interaction that I'd love to have back.
:tide pod: Pedant here: You're damn right you don't remember that, because it didn't happen. Random damage spread was removed by default from all TF2 servers that did not explicitly enable it. This included community servers and (ahem) official Valve servers. It was not removed from Casual because "casual" was not a thing and would not be one for about another year. This was back when QuickPlay still existed and there were populated community servers that ran maps besides 2Fort, High(er)tower or Harvest (or SlenderDeathRunTradeWhatever.) No. I'm not bitter. (I am so bitter the Sour Patch Kids want to license me.)
eh, i don't see pyro using a violin doing some irish-like dance moves. doesnt feel like an in-character thing. and pyro of all is a blank slate. maybe a flute or something would be way more funny, specially with the gas mask and stuff.
Why are there so few Heavy taunts? Is it hard to animate Heavy well because of how exaggerated his proportions are?
Heavy is too fat to move
FLAN 2018 is coming, this time as an online tournament to honor the legacy of Stephen “Miggy” Chavez, its original founder. You can also receive an in-game donator medal by donating $5 USD or more to Miggy's Gift and leaving your Steam profile link in the Company section. It looks like this.
Ah miggy, migthulu. The man had a passion for anticheat that we all have benefited from. Never did get the chance to collaborate with him, but damn, he was the last person the tf2 community needed to have go.
nothing gets me going like headshotting a scout twice with nu ambassador and still not killing him 😩
All Ambassador needs is to minicrit past 1600 hammer units, more consistent with other crits. Also maybe it's perfectly accurate because it's the only gun in the game besides the L'etranger with good iron sights
Were you at close range?
Except there's only one taunt of his that isn't working out or flexing.
Had an idea for a Smissmass taunt for Smissmass, but never got around tp drawing it up. Where Heavy picks out a gift and acts like he's going to give it to you, then he crushes in his hands and stats "get back to work", with a mean looking grin on his face.
He started the fight with an overheal. First headshot did 50-60, second did 70-80. He survived and ran off like a coward. We weren't that far from each other at all. Had he engaged me directly instead of running, he very well may have killed me before I put another bullet in his head. Crit falloff is a fucking stupid and unintuitive mechanic. Just the other day in a scrim, I headshot a Sniper who was running away from me, and he literally survived with 1 HP. It should have been my kill, but it wasn't. There's no real way to know how much damage your headshots are going to do nowadays, or when they will just straight-up not fucking count, since you can't really gauge 1200 HU by eye alone in the midst of a fight + the weapon description doesn't even fucking say that there's a range where it straight-up does not make a difference if you headshot or not. Adding crit falloff and a range limit to the Ambassador has had one whole benefit to the game at large: making pubbers less mad The downsides, conversely, are: spy is now an even worse counter to sniper than he was prior scouts are even better at killing spies than they already were, which was 'very' pretty much the only range where the ambassador is a viable killing tool (512 HU), is ramp-up range for everyone else, where they do significantly more damage with a much lower aim requirement and faster firing speed Sans Heavy, every other class- even fucking Pyro- has a better ranged killing option than Spy does right now. Hell, I've been playing Pyro with flares since an impromptu weapon test with Hell-met re: my dart gun idea, and holy shit! Flares are so fucking easy to hit! anyways remove headshot range limit, if you cry about being hit for 51 damage across the map you're a literal child multiply falloff range by 1.5x or 2x so I don't keep getting denied perfectly valid kills when engaging with enemies who are fighting with me directly and aren't across the map. ambassador with perfect aim is a worse killing tool than stock revolver, which is already pretty fucking low-tier as far as killing tools go in this game, and its current state is completely inexcusable when Spy is garbage and you already nerfed the Dead Ringer that made it so problematic to begin with
