TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V6 - Year of the Guard Dog SURVEY IN OP

There is a separate thread for random crits, but these guys still talk about it here.
If someone doesn't want people to talk about something or disagree with them about something, then they probably should not talk about it in a discussion forum. If they want a anti-crit safe space thread, then they should go make one.
That's a pretty stupid reason for disabling mods and effectively killing off the modding community.
He'll chime in during a conversation that explicitly request he stay out of. He'll respond to himself again if no one actively responds to him. He doesn't stay in a thread specifically made to quarantine his nonsense and has begun to request people leave that thread by accusing them of shitposting. He pops up any time that the words "random" and "crit" are together in a single sentence. He doesn't respond to shame, belittlement, or having his argument dismantled and thrown in the garbage. He's like an inflamed appendix.
Free modding communities don't mesh with modern game economies, except in official ways like the Steam Workshop where things can get accepted in game.
It's shit not being able to improve how to game looks by just downloading a mod but it's Valve protecting their profits.
When was profits the reason for disabling it in the first place?
Oh I'm sure pure was originally meant to stop cheats and give comp players more control, but sooner or later one of their economists must have gotten mad that people were getting "free" stuff, since CSGO and
Dota 2 are even more locked down. Dota 2 does not even have community servers.
You cannot just conclude that based off the conclusion that 'it wouldn't not make sense'.
It's still a petty reason to enforce restrictions because of the economy, it's a non issue as far as I'm concerned because you can't get free anything if you don't have an item for you to mod with. Those "hat > hat" replacer mods are harmless because they literally do nothing to or for other players. Same thing goes for skins, does nothing to everyone and gives nothing clientside except the feel good smugness of a kid who now has a "unique" skin and unintentionally gives the same skin to everyone else.
TF2 isn't even in the same scope as CSGO or DOTA where it's competitive 100% of the time. How enforced the game is should be based on the competitive scene, not the entire game as a whole. Casual should stay casual and have all limits off, restrictions should only be applied to the comp scene based on whatever exploit packs have to offer and the seriousness of the match up. Normal comp should have sv_pure 1 with a functional whitelist, while comp with money or any of the competitive leagues involved should have sv_pure 2 enabled and disallow any modifications completely.
Yes, we ultimately don't know why Valve silently turned on sv_pure 1 in Gun Mettle I think. We can only speculate like the thread title says, would be nice to get a reason why @The Jill
But I believe it's either to restrict visual mods, to level the playing field, or both.
They could at least make the game look a little more up to date with community fixes, I'm pretty sure T.I.P was under their noses the entire time because it was never put into their attention.
Yeah that cartoony lightwarp mod looks fantastic (might have some visibility issues though) and the TIP, mods to make the shotgun right handed, mods to make pistol slides move, tons more. Valve might not
be aware of any of them.
We are playing on the FP EU Server! steam://connect/188.165.207.20:27024
when we mention random crits and LITERALLY PUT "#ASICDon'tRespond", it means we do want to talk about it...
with literally anyone who isn't you, ASIC.
you never have any new points to present and all you fucking do is get people trapped in a loop of asking your neverending questions. it's some "Dormammu, I've come to bargain"-type shit, except we can't actually get you to stop.
Just had a game where people actually voted against kicking a lag bot.
It just doesn't make any sense.
No one in Casual makes any sense.
Create a private club about random crits and excluse asic

i really like playing matches against teams with hackers on them and the enemy team won't kick them just because "they're helping us win!!! why would we kick them!???"
if you pull this shit you're just as bad as the shitheads hacking.
My personal favourite experience is when you call for a votekick against a hacker, which fails, and then the hacker calls for a votekick against you, which of course succeeds.
at least being locked in spawn by aimbotters brings the team together for a dance party, i guess.

John McDonald is actually a Heavy main, maybe that's why they brought the minigun into CSGO with the new Negev?
