It's also weird how MyM added comp mode lines where the classes are aware they're in a game, they directly speak to the player, mention 6s and watching scrims and use terms in the competitive scene. Heavy, Sniper, and Spy even mention how they're rarely used in 6s.
Soldier has a line where he says "Alright, who's pocket and who's roamer?" or something along that. It's odd how much detail they put into it.

Yeah I really would have preferred if they kept the self-aware stuff exclusively to comp mode. Half the time they pretend like it's comp mode anyway, which doesn't even make any sense.

"I wouldn't call that last match competitive, if you know what I mean" Yeah engineer I do know what you mean, because that last match literally wasn't competitive, it was a casual match

tf2 is like a looney tunes cartoon, the characters know they're actors.
bugs always references his contract or warner bros.

Oh they say the lines in casual? I don't listen to them really so I didn't notice, just was saying it's weird for them to be even added.
edit: MyM did give us one of the greatest lines in TF2 history
"Pick up their asses, gently men. Put them in a tub with scented candles. Tuck them into bed and kiss their asses on the forehead. Because we have kicked them all over this map and they are devastated!"
I really wish the competitive end of round screen was in casual mode as well, obviously a lot of work was put into it, why not put it into casual? Maybe make it show MVPs from both teams instead of just one so it doesn't deter people if that's even the issue?
Yea, the comp lines play in Casual for some reason, and it's really jarring hearing them. The Casual/Comp lines are also really weirdly mixed (Missing Heavy filter, super quiet, etc.)
The writing is on point though. The Casual lines are normal, but Competitive is fourth wall breaking. What if in the TF universe Competitive Mode is like a game, but Casual are the real battles to get land?
Also, the Tough Break Medic contract lines sound incredibly bad, like Robin Atkin Downes literally recorded them in his house with no sound booth or anything.

Go to 8:43 for the Medic lines.
Yes pls keep talking about MvM, maybe they will actually do something about it.
MvM is music to my ears, I enjoy the gamemode so much ;-;

You forget Valve lives in their own timezone of months away from reality

Yup, these are reused lines.
My friend mentioned today how it'd be pretty neat if the Heavy's update also added a couple of new tours to MvM as we played on Potato's server.
His new weapons synergising really well in MvM but also in PvP, akin to Rescue Ranger and Loose Cannon.
Would be a decent welcoming update to knock out two birds with one stone, the MvM fans and the eternally-waiting Heavy mains.
Could be the theme of his update too, since Heavy is the main character shown on the propaganda posters for MvM.
Cuz why not, Pyro got a theme for his update.

Even seeing Heavy get medieval gauntlets as a Fists of Steel reskin would make me happy.

when do we get the new weapons in the drop list, then?
Also please make the Dragon Slayer paint strange after the campaign ends, there's no other way to get a strange Dragon's Fury.
I'm not terribly optimistic about strange variants of any of the new weapons. The jokes about the guy who coded new stranges for TF2 leaving the team are too real for comfort.

They already have sodden victims for the gas passer(is there an enemies ignited also?), standard kills for the df and hot hand, times eaten for the banana, and they won't make stranges for mobility based weapons like the thruster. Even if they had to code it themselves surely it can't be too hard to just track a certain event?
Dont worry when they make a strange hot hand it will use a sappers removed strange part by accident and be worth hundreds. Constantly inventing new economy items.
Every time I read about the hot hand my heart aches for the missed potential. It's still more useful than the gas passer but only barely. That speed up is criminally short, if they extended it to last like five seconds it would be on par with the back scratcher, at least in pub play. There's lots of fun escapes to be had with a quick degreaser swap and slap, but you can't make use of it properly when it only lasts a split second. As it stands you can't really justify choosing it over the powerjack
[editline]7th February 2018[/editline]
Also the panic attack literally does not work as its supposed to. The stats say it should have an overall damage increase of 20% if all your pellets hit, but at point blank it does a whopping four extra damage in addition to the shotgun's 90 damage. It's straight up broken.

Panic attack isn't broken. If the damage per normal shotgun pellet is X, and it shoots ten pellets, the damage is 10X, the Panic Attack shoots 15 pellets that do .7X damage. 15 times .7X is 10.5X
Then if the total shotgun damage (90) is X, and the Panic Attack damage is 1.05X, 1.05 times 90 is 94.5, and the weapon does 94 at point blank. Works at the stats show, even though it's not very good.

Looks like you're right. Absolutely bizarre design choice though, there's really no situation in which a shotgun that does nearly identical damage but is less accurate would be worthwhile

That switch speed is more powerful than people give credit for.
That switch speed is more powerful than people give credit for.
How often is the fraction of a second faster it is than the switch speed on the reserve shooter really going to counteract its massive range reduction?
Except RS does that but better, even in its current state.
Seems like a rocket shot from a soldier can go through the soldier if he uses a teleporter to move far away in front of it.
soldier rockets always go through the soldier, this is what allows you to do double rocket instas in high bombs on medics, or do the jump map syncs
