Too bad, It's going to happen.
This: "One lucky class is going to get a full-fledged class pack in a future update! New weapons! New balancing! New achievements! It could be Heavy. Or it could be Pyro. But it's not gonna be both!" The blog post contradicts it, though.
https://i.imgur.com/PvGJYQX.png Looks like a MM Banwave went through!
Now the MM playerpool will drop from 10 people to 5.
https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1880/ad156b36-9eeb-4c0a-a629-bd1a04b6f265/match.PNG So they didn't outright confirm that Heavy would be getting a pack, but they might as well have considering how they put it
I think that was for comedic effect.
I dunno about you guys, but In my opinion It's obvious, If they release a new Major Update, It's gonna be Heavy update.
I'm torn. Because on one hand, they have to have seen the check they were writing when they said "it's highly likely they both will". They have to understand how much blood and bile there will be if they say "lol what Heavy update???" after typing that in the initial blog post. But on the other hand, it's Valve, and that's exactly the kind of oversight they'd make with TF2 nowadays.
If there's one thing the TF Team has never failed, it's releasing updates they were almost obligated to do. It took years, but we got all 9 Meet the Team updates. Sure, we never got the finished versions of Cactus Canyon and the space map, but we got the original update that added them. And, we got the Jungle Inferno update after the Meet Your Match update.
round of applause for the developers doing some of the things they said they were going to do guys
of the dozens of hackers I reported, two got banned https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/912421173221115226/AC351289338A07C6651E2BF3528EA0DAE4F315B1/ nice
Few bits of info from the new Valve site John Morello replaced his TF addiction with a Dota one Al Farnsworth playtests TF2 DRiller is still working tirelessly to improve the experience of every diehard TF2 fan There's also like eight people who used to work on TF2 listed
Reported many catbots, lagbots, etc, didn't get a single notification. Feelsbadman
You're more than welcome to point us to a game dev studio actually doing every single thing they said they were going to do, instead of just being sarcastic for no reason.
"Inb4 Overwatch" Blizzard don't really listen to the community that much. WoW proved that time and time again.
You act as if I don't want it to happen.
you won't get a notification if they got vac banned, and lag bots probably have not been around long enough to gather enough reports, and even if they did, there's really no point banning them, not only is it a throwaway account but also there isn't even a human to get slightly annoyed and creating a new account, it's all automated
With how they handled Jungle Inferno and Blue Moon who knows at this point. Just don't put out any major updates in October besides Scream Fortress Valve.
I can name any developer in existence and they would have a better track record than valve three-fold.
If your best thing you can say about Valve is solely "they do updates every now and then", you need to take a good, hard look in the mirror and reflect on how fucking stupid that sounds. Valve is no saint of a game dev studio, you can't even call it a game dev studio anymore, but they revolutionized both PC gaming and the FPS genre. They created the very game that changed the world of class-based FPSes. The same game that has seen a huge and consistent playerbase for well over 10 years. The same game that was able to celebrate 100+ updates 7 + years ago. The same game that allows this forum you're whining on to even exist. They created the Source Engine, and the Half-life series, and the Counter-Strike series. They've given so many would-be game developers jobs when other companies would send them a C&D and a "Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out" E-mail. Just because you have a problem with the game dev studio doesn't mean that they're the bane of all game development. They've done more for gaming as a whole than you could ever dream of doing. Get over yourself. I don't mind waiting for the next update, they obviously still have plans for the game if they released 2 big updates for it in the past ~10 months!
Valve's best quality is also their worst, they do whatever the fuck they want. Sometimes it's great with their games, Steam Input, their VR efforts. Sometimes it's shit because most devs just don't want to work on certain projects, like TF2, and it makes every single thing they do never come out on time. (they acknowledge and accept Valve Time is a thing, don't know if they even want to try to fix it or not)
With CS:GO sporting an impressive roster of 35 staff members, I'm morbidly curious as to how few the TF Team has.
They apparently have five programmers, and the team size goes up the longer the next update's been in development. Maybe around 10-15 right after a major update up to 25-35 right before a major update?
when did i ever imply that was the best thing about them. I never said anything good about them. Being influential in the gaming industry doesn't mean you are incapable of wrongdoing. Here's a lesson: TFTeam is understaffed and unprepared. Valve has bigger fish to fry than bringing TF2 up a stage, and the game suffers from it. You can't mute out criticism and pretend it isn't true. Bitching and moaning is a necessity in discussion. You can't have objective criticism without acknowledging the blatant elephant in the room, which is that valve has no idea what they're doing from a PR standpoint. They make promises they can't keep, they stay silent when they should talk, and everything inbetween.
did you expect johnnyjoe to change his attitude
Healthy discussion wouldn't need people telling others to "stop whining" in the first place. There's a difference between criticism and bitching and moaning. People like you have made the same "hum ho volvo doesnt give 2 shits about their video jaimes and never did... they suck and are awful and i hate him" comment at least 15 times in this thread. Tell me, what fruitful discussion were you hoping to come out of just saying "Valve sucks" and nothing else? We all know at this point that Valve's corporate structure is different and, while healthy for employees, unhealthy for their actual products. We all know it sucks ass that they don't have a consistent update schedule. You aren't contributing anything new to the thread. People all around you are actually having thoughtful discussion, asking questions about the corporate structure, genuine pondering.
...That's him? I thought John got permabanned
Just fyi for anyone wondering whatever happened to that optimization update, the Valve dev wiki lists it as Tough Break.
There are thousands of people in the world that go by the name "Joe". There are also dozens of users on facepunch. What I'm saying is you're no Watson.
John hates Valve, what do you mean?
