I mean, we only seen cheaters being booted off Valve casual/competitive, not getting VAC banned. Sure there have been a VAC wave couple days ago, but we've been having those for years. Atleast what I've seen so far.
I didn't say it was VAC banning people.
Honestly? The less we know the better. If we don't know what the hell is going on with their cheat system, neither do the hack-writers.
getting banned would probably be the result of a large number of reports over a short period of time, legit player who occasionally hit suspicious shots should be fine, as geel mentioned the report would probably be only valid if you report the account while in a game with it. report bots have been a thing in CSGO for a long time, whenever you report someone it will always say that the report was successful, even if it detected that you're spamming reports and axed it, so it's impossible to know that your spam is doing anything.
i had some low hour player ask me for items today that hasn't happened to me in years.
And neither do the people who are falsely banned by this system.
Some tips on how the Quickiebomb Launcher works, source Self-damage takes 85 health, compared to the stickybomb's 45-114, and is not affected by charge. If you have enough health it might be a good idea to place one on the ground and jump away for health and damaging nearby enemies if you can't get your melee out. When placing sticky traps I don't know if it's better to fully charge or not. It's too complicated for me because it seems like the damage is only doubled with 4 stickies. There is no info on the DPS of either too. When "sticky sniping", the damage falloff cancels out the damage bonus unfortunately, almost lower than the damage point blank with no charge. The distance of detonation doesn't change damage but the travel time does.
Is it crazy to think that 5 pyros should easily be able to stop spies from getting behind our team and killing everyone?
I thought of the funniest item name, Hale's Own Fresh Festive Jarate.
Has there been false bans already? If not, this is not an issue.
this "vacnet" we have is probably more or less the same thing as CSGO's VACnet - and nobody there gets banned falsely. Not only that, but the system bans you on the spot (or kicks), if you used aimbot with a high fov, spinbot, chat-spammer, name-changer and lag scripts (allegedly) Reports don't cause the bans themselves, but rather work as a indicator for the system, as who to inspect (if he use a different cheat than those listed above and doesn't get banned/kicked automatically) I've saw posts (written by cheaters on their forums) that say that they wouldn't get banned on the spot, with their cheats active/injected, but upon being reported they'd be banned/kicked within 10 seconds. And the last thing to mention, although this is more of an opinion/speculation, is that the reports might only cause for the reported player to be inspected; spamming reports won't do anything if vacnet finds the player clean. I'm basing this off the fact that in CSGO, players don't get banned because they've been reported too many times, but rather because VAC/VACnet found that they've been cheating; too many reports cause you to be investigated via overwatch/VACnet live ingame, since it also monitors the game.
Damn son, in these two days there's already 3 people I reported getting banned. This system is going good.
Also as far as the lagbots go, they appear to only be able to kill the server if they are there in setup-time. Had one join mid-game today and he just kinda... vanished instantly after saying 1-2 server messages.
Would you even believe someone who claims they were falsely banned? The idea that VAC (and, by extension, Valve's anticheat measures in general) is perfect and never falsely bans people is far too widespread. Valve acknowledges that VAC exists. Valve acknowledges that VACNet exist. Valve acknowledges that Overwatch exists. There is no acknowledgement of this new system, and we're only left to assume that it's similar to their other existing standards.
they should definitely say what the system is and what's the general way it works, and if it's effective, extend it to a full temporary game ban
Snooping around in github and generally from my past years, all the players that complain about being "falsely banned" turn out to be "my brother played it wasnt me" or "I didn't cheat lmao" - following with me checking their profile and oh-ho-ho, they cheated who wouldve expected it. Are there false bans? Yes. But they are so incredibly rare from what I have seen it might aswell be a non-issue. Currently we don't know if the system we were given falsely bans players. You are speaking for a party which quite frankly at the moment doesn't exist.
I am just so happy that those brony ragehackers with the unusuals and shit are most possibly already banned. And the expensive hackers in general.
at least its not Bully hunter.
Between Blue Moon and now this stronger anticheat/possible VACnet integration the TF2 team has been killing it this year. I'm hoping they keep it up for the rest of the year.
Anybody know what the current MMR-rank thresholds are? I'm at 1666 with Executioner II (aka Rank 8), and I'm wondering how close I am to the next rank. If that information just doesn't exist, I might make a "Post your rank" thread where people can tell what their rank and MMR are so we can get an idea of the scale.
Just had a 4 hour game of 2fort that had everything. There were quite many hackers though, they come and go. Was the most fun I've had in TF2 for a while though, I'm glad ctf has no time limit.
2fort where people are actually trying can be really fun. I always seem to have the most fun on awful maps where both teams are trying their hardest. And then someone eventually ruins it by going sniper.
I don't think it's unreasonable to desire information on a new system that is judging player behavior that has not been acknowledged by Valve.
im still trying to get into a comp game to get my official rank. the que times for me have been really crazy lately.
What, you don’t have fun playing against the long-distance-crits-on-extremely-forgiving-hitboxes class? You just gotta get good.
I've had some amazing games on Hydro recently. It was back and fourth for a good hour or two before the match ended.
I've had a few over my time in casual matchmaking. Big one I remember is sunshine specifically. Person even unboxed an unusual hat in the middle of it. Wish those really close matches up weren't so rare. =/
Those self-damage numbers are incorrect, and by extension so are the TF2Wiki's (unless they were using some testing method I'm unaware of). The minimum and maximum self blast damage for all Stickybomb launchers (minus the Sticky Jumper, obviously) for a single bomb is 45 - 86. This includes explosions that also hit an enemy player, and charged up shots by the Quickie-Bomb launcher.
These long matches reminded me of one thing. I was playing on tf2center as an engineer on cp_dustbowl of all places. The teams weren't really balanced and the enemy had no clue about how they would take a sentry down. So, I decided to make the match a bit longer. Every time the timer was in the last minute or so, I would just pack my shit up and let the enemy cap. Repeated this till it was the last point of the third stage. My team wasn't happy and I almost got kicked for it. The match took almost an hour where it should've taken 20 minutes or so. We just rolled on them when we attacked.
Hackers are still out there in droves, and with matchmaking cooldowns, I'm seeing more of them on community servers. This joker showed up on my server tonight: [#1] L 05/21/2018 - 01:51:42: "Bluto<413><[U:1:64769146]><Red>" killed "Glimmer<408><[U:1:861098908]><Blue>" with "enforcer" (attacker_position "1478 1795 160") (victim_position "1568 1664 160") [#1] L 05/21/2018 - 01:51:42: "Bluto<413><[U:1:64769146]><Red>" triggered "domination" against "Glimmer<408><[U:1:861098908]><Blue>" [#1] L 05/21/2018 - 01:53:47: "Glimmer<408><[U:1:861098908]><Blue>" disconnected (reason "Disconnect by user.") [#1] L 05/21/2018 - 01:54:18: Banid: "<><[U:1:861098908]><>" was banned "permanently" by "Console" He then crashed the server, or more accurately caused everyone to lag out and get disconnected. Joke was on him, I had the ip ban command read in shell (I ssh in directly to the server from my laptop.)
