OP in MVM but in normal game play, I'd much rather use another secondary. Although the GP is banned in comp so maybe it is deemed OP in general?
Probably banned because its so bad it managed to get the opposite treatment and wasnt allowed to be used in comp.
OP in MVM but in normal game play, I'd much rather use another secondary. Although the GP is banned in comp so maybe it is deemed OP in general?
All new weapons are banned until testing happens, so that bugs and unbalanced strategies can be found if they exist. Tbh it's bad enough to be a downgrade to every other option outside MvM, so I doubt anyone would run it in a serious environment to begin with.
I felt like if valve changed the gas passer to make it not as OP in MvM in return they need to bring back the dragons fury firing speed upgrade. Why do they even bother updating MvM weapons just to nerf a fun one.
Probably banned because its so bad it managed to get the opposite treatment and wasnt allowed to be used in comp.
Comp whitelists are already updated, all new weapons such as Dragon Fury, Thermal Thruster and the banana are allowed in most whitelists whilst the Gas passer is banned throughout.
Comp whitelists are already updated, all new weapons such as Dragon Fury, Thermal Thruster and the banana are allowed in most whitelists whilst the Gas passer is banned throughout.
Thats really fucking strange
Comp whitelists are already updated, all new weapons such as Dragon Fury, Thermal Thruster and the banana are allowed in most whitelists whilst the Gas passer is banned throughout.
Haven't found any leagues having the Dragon's Fury unbanned. Could you tell me the leagues that have?
It would be nice if glove items (like the digit divulger) and souls changed the player viewmodel. It is definitely possible to do in source, given that they could make glove skins in CS:GO. Right now the digit divulger isn't exactly the most noticeable cosmetic. Anyways, I wonder if this being changed would notably increase the price of those items.
getting added by some random guy on steam for my hats or something and the first comment on their profile is this [t]https://i.imgur.com/bDK1lOY.png[/t]
OP in MVM but in normal game play, I'd much rather use another secondary. Although the GP is banned in comp so maybe it is deemed OP in general?
It's banned because you can throw it through walls like you used to be able to with sandman etc personally I don't think this warrants a ban but we tend to just ban any weapon with bugs maybe it's banned cause you can spawn a pyro and launch one through forward spawns onto point, or through thin walls onto lasts like gully to help with sacs? having said that it's so bad that i doubt that would be useful in any way
Is DF banned because of bugs as well?
Haven't found any leagues having the Dragon's Fury unbanned. Could you tell me the leagues that have?
Well, in Highlander DF and GP are unbanned. Same with Prolander. But apparently the weapon has some use in 6s (putting the gas on a point to keep people from going on it) so it's banned there.

the debuff is so weak and takes so much time, I don't think that keeps people off a point.
maybe it's banned cause you can spawn a pyro and launch one through forward spawns onto point, or through thin walls onto lasts like gully to help with sacs? having said that it's so bad that i doubt that would be useful in any way
i mean one of the spotlights of the gas passer being terrible is that you don't spawn with it.
I mean the problem I have with the gas passer isn't just the fact you don't spawn with it, it's that compared to the rest of Pyro's arsenal it's just garbage. Do you want to 'maybe' make enemies take afterburn by throwing it someplace and hope they walk into it and take damage during the debuff for a measly 4 per tick damage afterburn? Or do you just equip scorch shot, blind fire and set 4 people on fire at once AND deal greater damage AND have it from the moment you spawn AND deal knockback AND spam it to your heart's content? Or how about the consistent shotgun, or the 95 damage crit-flare... It doesn't have a good enough hook to warrant use over other weaponry, that's my problem with it and I don't think just making it like a common throwable will fix that.

It's unpredictable. It's exploitable. It's something that shouldn't be in the game. Simple as that. It doesn't have to be strong, or overpowered, or anything like that, if it doesn't work right and can be exploited, it should be gone.
Anyone interested in a unusual taunt? (Amazingly enough it isn't a tornado one.) It's a "Spent Well Spirits" with "Infernal Flames".
But who in their right mind would equip it just because you can throw it through walls?
Oh, the throwing GP through walls reminds me of this neat video which shows how broken pyro still is, without needing to mention the wiggle hitboxes

It's so weird that Valve might do it, like the Shortstop shove :v:

It seems the TF2 page was updated to make the promo on the side for the Steam Workshop, rather than Jungle Inferno. http://www.teamfortress.com
Then why wasnt pre jungle infenro pyro banned if he wasnt strong nor weak and buggy?
Because pyro just plain sucked outside of a situational utility. Why would you ban an entire class anyway? None are banned in any formats, there's just class limits to prevent class stacking and uncompetitive strats. That being said after observing the post-JI flame thrower, there were a couple of knee-jerk murmurs about somehow whitelisting the non-DF flamethrowers or the pyro class until a custom mod was made that reduced it's damage, but that never came about.
Why would you ban an entire class anyway?
Banning sniper would make Highlander actually fun to watch. :v:
I don't get why gas passer is banned under any non-mvm circumstances. Yeah you can drop it on the point to force people to get ignited if they go on point... or you could shoot a scorch shot on point and have the exact same effect except the pyro doesn't need a teammate to ignite the enemy and you can spam it every second instead of waiting 15 seconds for the next can. If you're trying to ignite people pyro has far better options.

http://www.teamfortress.com
Interestingly enough the Steam image for TF2 still advertises Jungle Inferno. Also isn't this the first time we had the Steam Workshop there? I always recall past updates taking that place.

Somebody even brought up the exact same point with the Scorch Shot.
gas pass still manages to be lameish when you're a pyro and you die to 10 sec afterburn not even the suit is a safe haven anymore. give me a break rework it
Is DF banned because of bugs as well?
I think it's because this is the first season after pyro changes happened, and atm we're testing like every pyro weapon to see what's ok and what's not, without throwing an additional spanner in the works. I wouldn't be surprised to see it allowed in next season. One complaint is that the visual doesn't match the hitbox at all, so that might be a reason it stays banned.
i mean one of the spotlights of the gas passer being terrible is that you don't spawn with it.
you're right, forgot that.
If it's banned because of the throwing through walls, that means it's banned for good reason. It's unpredictable. It's exploitable. I think this would be particularly good on lasts, because pushing with a pyro onto last is really good atm and gas passer must be somewhat good on lasts too. I don't really care enough to have found set throws, but I'm sure if you want me to I could go test and report back
