he's weak in 5cp-oriented community 6s on most spots outside of last. That does not mean he's bad in 6s. Valve has shown clear interest in developing the format beyond its current map pool and class pool.
I wish this would have been advertised more clearly. I love MvM and had no clue about it simply because i'm not a part of the relevant subcommunity.
That about sums up every medal or promo not otherwise tied to a game. I want the blapature medal but now im shit outta luck cause theres so many damn charity events to keep track of.
I dont understand why theres no in-game updates about upcoming charity, community or comp stuff. Ive had someone join a TT server and ask "whats titanium tank".
Where is the statclock located on a strange war painted holy mackrel?
I don't have one.
well you’re in luck since it “formally” launched just today! previously, I guess it was a pre-launch kinda deal for interested people or people who happened to hear it by word of mouth.
The tour not being advertised very throughoutly was becuase it wasn't finished.
It was quietly launched on February 1st for stress/beta testing with three (now four) servers in order to gauge the missions' difficulty level. Downtown's "Entertainer's Entourment" turned out to be really difficult, bordering on Expert because of the mission's Wave 6 (aptly-nicknamed "the weed-out wave" or the "cursed wave") along with some other hiccups, resulting in it being mostly nerfed, and the rest had small changes related to pacing, payout or difficulty. It was quick for the tour to have some jokes/memes about it being too difficult as a result, and considering how these missions were tested with expert-difficulty knowledgeable players rather than advanced ones, it wasn't spotted in time when the beta launched (you could see people complaining about Downtown in this very same thread, on the Steam comments of the group, in dedicated threads within the group, while playing Downtown, so forth and so on).
During testing, various bugs related to the maps were also found, which were reported to their respective map makers to fix them. Infamously there was one with Downtown in which bots teleported around if players capped the points back and forth, and Dockyard's front upgrade station would break if a wave was lost and had an infinite alarm bug. Now their fixed versions are being played in the official release.
The official release now has a pretty cool website (before it was all HTML with little CSS aside from fetching results), a neat stats page for those interested, and medals are now given out in real time as soon as a player finishes the tour (rather than being awarded after the event ends) which is really nice. You can see Downtown's mission being the least completed one in the stats page, unsurprisingly. In fact, Downtown being so difficult is what spawned this guide I made for people struggling with the (pre-nerf) tour, which was given a shout-out to in the official announcement in case players still find the tour difficult, and considering there's people that claim that Waterfront's Watershed Waylay is a difficult mission (it's considered the easiest one and stats support the claim), or that the whole tour warrants 4 Beggar's Soldiers to be used (I kid you not, someone said that with no shred of irony), maybe it's for the best. Regardless, it's still a good read in order to know a map's mechanics beforehand.
I invite everyone to play the now mostly-sane tour with their friends, I think it's one of the most fun MvM experiences I've ever had, in my opinion, and it's worth playing not only for the medal, but because of the creativity shred in each mission alone. It's pretty much as close as it can get to "official" MvM content but with new stuff, considering the medal is being awarded in real time and all, and you can ask for a server to be locked for you if you ask for it in the group chat so you can play it with friends. So yeah, you can give it a shot now, there's still no deadline so anybody who didn't know about it can still enjoy it in time with no pressure, and remember to have fun!
[editline]If you read this you're gay[/editline]
I never understood why do people get double medals of the same kind? Happened with heartfell hug too. What's the point? It's the same item.
In my case, I appreciate having two paintable medals so I can have a coffee-colored Tank (resembling the limited time I put in my submitted mission, which resulted in getting my first medal) and a gray-colored Tank (making it look like an actual titanium Tank). They might be the same medal, but both have different meanings for me, and after Name Tags and Description Tags get enabled for the medals to be applied to, I might give them some funny names, who knows. Maybe the next contest will have different medals though, that'd be neat.
Here is some info from vnn regarding gabe newel's son
The issue on my end was that the "change style" option appeared on the loadout and inventory screen, but the window's drop down menu would not work.
There's also some issues with the preview image with some items, such as the last spy coat
Yup, that's the problem I'm talking about. Sometimes all dropdowns wouldn't work including the options ones. All because of the overlay.

I dont think this is caused by the overlay.

This is frikking awesome.
Are there any TF2 maps with stacks of hay that you can hide into?
Why do so many scammers add me? Like a few minutes ago some guy impersonating Sexy Sparta just added me.

You should add a signature easter egg, like a sign for Fluury's Ice Cream or something.

I'm buying a server just to host this map, I really love it.
-edit-
With that being said, what are some essential custom maps that you think need to added into rotation to make you want to play on the server?
You know Tyler you could ask me and I’ll set one up for you so you don’t have to pay a dime.

I’ll add this to the FP Community server map pool when I get home
I've already been working on a large server project anyways, I just pushed the TF2 server up because I really like this map. Thank you though.
-EDIT-
I want to test the server, we are running the new PL map 45.63.65.214:27065
Why do so many scammers add me? Like a few minutes ago some guy impersonating Sexy Sparta just added me.
They just look for people who own one/not many unusuals. I've been also added by multiple scammers (sometimes more than once by one guy because they forget) but I don't mind, they're really fun to mess around with, acting like an idiot and asking irrelevant questions, just wasting their time.

I suggest the recent release of Shoreleave - an absolutely fantastic payload map that really sells you the Frontline theme and makes me really want a Frontline announcement, Kalinka which really makes you think of why we do not have russian maps in TF2 yet Japanese ones(Not complaining, Sujin is great), Moonbase which not only proves itself via it's looks but also has really solid gameplay and Clifftop which is just overall wellrounded.

It just kinda bloats the thread, there are plenty of other places to trade.
+ most of the people lurking and posting in this thread don't have interest in trading. Use Outpost, SCM, or backpack.tf.

Has anyone else been encountering a group of 5 medic/sniper bots and one actual player by the name of Cody who spam the chat to join his trashy kingdom?

Good news!
TF2 was again in Top 10 today and reached peak 40k players! Right now it's 34k! Good news is that bots are still on the same number. https://teamwork.tf/community/statistics

First one I'm not surprised. B4nny actually mentioned that war paints themed after teams in competitive could be a nice jesture towards support competitive in a sense. Teams support weapons painted after their team's name during matches honestly could be nice though.
Damnit, I want silver variants lol...

Seeing stuff like this australium war paint makes me wonder why Valve doesn't just make a simple MvM update. They could easily do something like this.
- Make Titanium Tank an official Tour of Duty (Expert Difficulty, Same rewards as Two Cities)
- Instead of a normal australium weapon, you get an australium war paint. (It would still have the same rarity as normal australium weps) It would also only be in FN Condition
- New Cosmetic / War paint case based of Iron Gauntlet (Does anyone still remember that?)

Seems they don't want to add any more MvM content unless its something totally new they made themselves, like the capture point mechanic of Mannhattan. (I thought the guy who knew how to add content to mvm left the team but it seems they know how based on the new pyro weapon upgrades)
Is there an option in casual to disable entering matches that are already in progress?
I can't complete anything if I keep getting tossed in matches that are practically over or the portion where I defend an objective is done already. I have 6 defense contracts left and it's time consuming enought just to get a single point of defense on one as is...
Come test out the Haywire map for about 30 mins. IP: 78.61.211.83
Region is EU BTW.
Edit: Was fun, thanks for playing!
