Pedant alert. When discussing War Paints (or anything else really), the "Mk" in "Mk II" is short for "mark" as in "trademark." Don't pronounce it "em kay" unless you seek to sound like an imbecile.
So why would it make you sound like an imbecile?
I wish they gave all of the Heavy's minigun unlocks girl names. The Tomislav could be something overtly American because it's a modified Tommy gun, the Huo-Long could be a Chinese name, etc.
Looks like Heavy spent too much time around Sniper or Saxton when deciding to name one of his guns Sheila...
Strangely, it's the only name here that is not Russian/Slavic. It was probably chosen because they wanted to give the Huo-Long Heater a Chinese-sounding name, like Shéi Là, and didn't want to search for a similar Russian name. The closest I could find is "shéi" (谁, "who") and "là" (辣, "hot,pungent/to burn").

It's genuinely horrible, and it hurts my eyes. People only like it because it reminds them of old TF2.

Holy crap, anything below 8v8 on casual is so boring. Most maps are too big and by the time more players join in one team has steamrolled another and everyone leaves :disgust:
You want eye hurt? koth_rainbow -snip-
You might want to add an epilepsy warning on your post.
Cyberpunk is honestly a god awful map. It's genuinely horrible, and it hurts my eyes. People only like it because it reminds them of old TF2.
If you take it seriously, yes, it's awful. All my experiences on it were great. Why? Five minute map timelimit, 100% crits, instant respawn. You haven't experienced its insanity until you've stood in that narrow street with glowing projectiles endlessly flying both ways. Mind you, this was a server that regularly played serious maps and had an occasional "surprise chip" map.
The thing about cyberpunk is that it is _tiny._ It's got all sorts of 1-character-wide doorways that are a complete nightmare to navigate. It's an amusing map, but even on Lazy Purple's Silly Server, it's dimensions are entirely too constraining. [editline]22nd February 2018[/editline] [t]https://i.imgur.com/ikIC6xc.png[/t] DONE. I haven't attacked MvM this aggressively since early 2014. Now erm, where do I turn in my results? ...nevermind I got this mid-wave: [t]https://i.imgur.com/FUZKv1h.jpg[/t]
Holy crap, anything below 8v8 on casual is so boring. Most maps are too big and by the time more players join in one team has steamrolled another and everyone leaves :disgust:
It's sucks but it's what the community wanted, to allow people to leave whenever they please freely. Game abandoners ruin matches far more for me then even hackers do and nothing is worse then having a really solid match that could go either way, only to have half of one team decide they had enough and drop, turning the match from fun into a steam roll in 10 seconds flat.
I remember thinking that this was an official CTF map, and being sad when MYM came out and my dreams were struck down.
its based on this
...which is in turn based off the original CTF Convoy map from UT99. Lawn, off.
Do people actually get banned in TF2? I just started playing again and I've seen the same cunt blatantly hacking at least once a day for the past week.
I was looking at the files and there's a lot of sounds for Merc Park, the electric fence, animal calls, yeti roars, beeps if you're in the tech room above second (I think), beeps for a radar room (not sure what this is), waterfall sounds, thunder, even sounds for the boiler near red's first spawn. They put a lot of effort into the map, shame it's not the best. [editline]22nd February 2018[/editline]
Do people actually get banned in TF2? Just report them. (click the whistle icon in the main menu or click their name if you have mouse input on the scoreboard enabled)
God I'm fucking sick and tired of every single casual match coming down to "which team had more players". The idea of trying to make a more competitive experience by having no reliable way of keeping teams balanced is so fucking stupid.

You should write to the TF team, something like that shouldn't be too hard to code, right?
to think casual was designed as a remedy to counteract autobalance... what a lovely turn of events

Team Scramble only works at the end of matches, outside of that I've never seen it used outside of denying a team a win at the last second. Auto-scramble punishes people who stay instead of addressing the people abandoning the matches in the first place, who are the cause of unbalanced matches to begin with. The people who get forced switched usually leave themselves or idle/afk till a spot oped... The only time I've seen matches stay full entire rounds ( at least for the most part ) was when abandonment penalties. But the community didn't want any of that and here we are today, unbalanced matches almost every single game. Proably because all the selfish brats who decided their fun was more important then everyone elses were temp banned lol...

I can't think of the last time assets were added to the game that weren't community made, but I feel like maybe it was sawmill? (someone feel free to correct me here) all new models and textures to go with the sounds. Lot of effort went in there, really is incredible. I'm really sad it turned out to be so not that great, but hey, we can reuse those assets now and so I'm sure they won't be wasted.

The old system at least tried to remedy that. Have you got any better ideas?
The average gamer these days is a buttscratching neanderthal, who as you've said puts thier own fun first and requeues at the first sign of things going bad. The old system at least tried to remedy that. Have you got any better ideas?
I honestly want to see a abandonment penalties return, but done different. This time around, it should act more as a scale, one side for the amount of games you stick around the entire match while the only is for the amount you abandon games. The more frequent you abandon games, the higher chances you'll get placed in matches with others who also frequently abandon. The same goes for when you stick to matches till the end, you'll be more then likely to be placed in matches against people who also don't jump ship when they're not being catered. There is no real punishment, so people are still free to leave whenever they please and this way, so it'll please those who don't have a problem leaving their team high and dry. While those who stick to games will more frequently will be able to enjoy full matches more often from start to finish. If you decide you want to switch, you can either abandon matches more frequently as you like or stick to matches and you'll slowly tip in the other sides favor over time. This is probably the best way for Valve to implement a system that caters to both sides themselves. Since in reality Valve only has so much power to control what people do in their games sadly...
