FYI Haywire RC3 has been released, here's the complete list of changes: https://tf2maps.net/downloads/haywire.5520/update?update=13130
Would be nice if they removed the old Xbox 360 controller code and went full Steam Input.
Those plugins can be used to exploit the retention of passive accouterments like the Razorback, Darwin's Danger Shield, Booties, and shields on classes that can't normally wear them.
The model swap plugin featured in the above video is only available on Lazy Purple's Silly Servers (to everyone) and on Mic Snobs (to admins). In both cases, any tactical advantage is utterly irrelevant.
Degreaser is literally the worst current flamethrower and with the changes to flames/airblast there's literally no reason to take it over stock, Backburner, DF, or Phlog. I get being upset over no balance changes in months but this takes it to another level.
Personally I still like using the Degreaser since it's useful to switch to the Homewrecker to help out your fellow engies.
I played Overwatch for the first time in a while and it's ctf mode seems better than TF2's, has a timer and if no one scores or ends in a tie (I assume it also happens for ties) the flags get closer together and it enters sudden death. If nothing else they should add a command like tf_ctf_timer so server operators can customize the time limit.
Tyler was streaming and apparently someone DDoSed his stream by someone in a group called "Chillware". RIP.
anyone heard about someone selling their keys for 5 ref? bc someone did that yesterday
I understand the hate for deg, I really do even as a pyro main. but a good deg stream + shotgun/flare is still the fastest, safest way to kill light classes. just rinse and repeat if they have more hp than that. it's pointless to be in denial just because you have a vendetta against it. I have never used it either. but it's just facts. I will admit that the current state of flames really does overshadow the deg though which makes it seem weak, but then again I did mention vs good players in my original post.
its less about denial and more about getting the meta so far up your ass you could tell how a pyro would engage you and how you could beat him because he'd just rush towards you to stunlock you into airborne minicrits. like every single fucking spy out there trying to stair stab you almost as a reflex. you just stare at him jump backwards into nothing.
anyone heard about someone selling their keys for 5 ref? bc someone did that yesterday
Theoretically, key prices should drop to around 5 refined if the inflation rate of refined metal drops to just above 0
anyone heard about someone selling their keys for 5 ref? bc someone did that yesterday
Talk about panic selling.
anyone heard about someone selling their keys for 5 ref? bc someone did that yesterday
Keys are already 28.33-29 ref on backpack.tf edit: hover the cursor over the ref price and it says keys are down 8.39 ref from 7 hours ago
Back in my day, keys were 2.33 refined.
When I was new 2.33 seemed like an unattainable number.
When I was new 2.33 seemed like an unattainable number.
I made a lot of money trading items for currencies in other games back in the day on community servers. A few trade servers I frequented had a MOTD notice about the rule against selling keys "Over a fair price of 2-2.33 refined" under "sharking".
Back in my day, keys were 2.33 refined.
back in my day keys were 2 refined, people used to try and push it to 2.11 and get laughed at for being so greedy this was like a week after they added the whole trading thing i think
When I was new 2.33 seemed like an unattainable number.
It was kind of weird. For at least a year after the game went F2P the keys stayed at a 2.33 refined price. Then, suddenly, slowly, but surely, it started rising. 2.66 refined in a few days, followed by 3 refined within weeks, then 5 refined, then it just kept going and going and going... To see it start to drop is so weird to me. For the past 2 or 3 years it's been floating around 25-30 refined, too. Currencies and game black markets are weird.
Shame they didn't add any achievements like they said like they would for the Pyro update. Although maybe its for the best, imagine having to play 144 rounds of Mercenary Park for an achievement.
imagine having to play 144 rounds of Mercenary Park for an achievement.
Nah, I'll pass on voluntarily inducing that level of mental torture on myself.
Talk about panic selling.
dunno but that don't seem to look like panic selling
Nah, I'll pass on voluntarily inducing that level of mental torture on myself.
Some of the other achievements for playing a lot of rounds on a map seem pretty horrendous, 138 rounds on Doomsday, 139 on Standin, 142 on both Helltower and Powerhouse. (Seems they forgot to increment the number for the Powerhouse one, mildly surprised I got the number for Merc Park right if they add one more round to Powerhouse's achievement) Video that shows the missing Powerhouse round requirement and some other achievement things
It's actually 140+ WINS on a map for those achievements, which makes it far, far worse. Assuming you're not very good, you'll likely only win roughly half the matches, so thats nearly 300 rounds you have to play. Even if you're decent and contribute to your team winning more often than not, that's still easily 200+ rounds you have to play. Plenty of rounds on Valve servers one can't single-handedly turn around by themselves. I generally think a lot of very grindy achievements like these map wins have become rather impossible or absurdly time-consuming with Casual. Many maps simply aren't that popular now that their novelty has worn off, it's hard to queue for them in a reasonable time, matches on them only last 2-3 rounds and then the server dies or changes to a different map 'cause good luck getting the likes of Foundry, Powerhouse or Standin to win map votes many times in a row... Good thing I managed to do those map win achieves back when they were fresh and their respective updates came out, I can't imagine trying to do them in a legit way now.
According to steamspy, tf2 audience in 2 weeks decreased from 1,7m to 1,3m. So, it appears that there were around 400k bot accounts. [t]https://i.imgur.com/oYWKrGc.png[/t]
People still think they manually beaned the bots and didn't invent some kind of magic system to detect and delet bots?
People still think they manually beaned the bots and didn't invent some kind of magic system to detect and delet bots?
Would explain why updates take so long - two people manually deleting 400k bots wouldn't left much time to make an update :v: [sp]That's a joke, it's obvious they didn't do that manually[/sp]
Would explain why updates take so long - two people manually deleting 400k bots wouldn't left much time to make an update :v:
This is Valve we're talking about, they don't do anything manually that they can build an automated system for.
There's a t-pose bug with miniguns (or at least Hou-long) when you run out of ammo and swap with a dropped gun while firing. When trying to finish the 2fort contract, two heavies named something like "soviet soldier #[number]" joined and started doing this bug. Eventually the server became USSR vs Merica with all heavies and engineers. One guy who was on the server before the soviets micspammed the soviet anthem and other similar songs. Nothing happened for like an hour until the two guys got bored and left. Then the heavy team gradually turned into a normal team and we fought to bust through the stronghold. Then the engies went pyro and in the end we won. But mostly I just wanted to point out the bug.
This is Valve we're talking about, they don't do anything manually that they can build an automated system for.
They don’t have an automatic system for balancing the economy. Getting rid of the bots by itself isn’t going to be enough.
They don’t have an automatic system for balancing the economy. Getting rid of the bots by itself isn’t going to be enough.
...Is what you'd normally say, but in TF2's case, where bots were the major cause of extreme metal inflation, I'd disagree. Three keys that we'll see some kind of metal sink a la the bread boxes this year, who's on it?
Teamwork.tf has released a new batch of statistics based on Valve Servers ! Incredibly interesting and probably answers a lot of questions.
