Where are the killfeed weapon icons in the files? (had an internet outage since yesterday)

materials/hud/d_images materials/hud/d_images_v2 materials/hud/d_images_v3 materials/hud/dneg_images materials/hud/dneg_images_v2 materials/hud/dneg_images_v3
The file that controls which section of each sprite sheet is used for what type of death can be found at: 'scripts/mod_textures.txt'. Even though v2 contains all of the kill icons found in v1, the v1 versions appear to be used instead of their v2 counterparts, despite most being almost identical (the v1 ones seem to be slightly more transparent). v3 contains none of the v1 or v2 icons.
So, according to b4nny who's been in recent communication with Valve, he was sent an email that sets the record straight on Valve's opinions on competitive TF2. Or something like that. And he knows things about future TF2 updates that he can't disclose. Though he did say there were obvious things like comp changes.
Twitch (I assume he said it while streaming) link?
I don't have a clip, but here is his Twitch link.
sure would be nice to be part of this exclusive club of people who get communication from valve
I don't have a clip, but here is his Twitch link.
Eh, I knew his channel, just am a bit lazy and don't really want to screen through multi hour vods, plus he's streaming right now and you can't watch previous parts of streams while they're live on Twitch. You can on Youtube though. [editline]28th February 2018[/editline]
sure would be nice to be part of this exclusive club of people who get communication from valve
Who even is in the "club" besides B4nny, Uncle Dane, I assume other top level competitive TF2 players, and, idk, maybe Geel?
also, reminder that b4nny and slin hyped up mym before it came out as well we keep hearing secondhand assurances that valve will do right by the competitive community and the game at large, and every time it happens we end up disappointed I wouldn't get your hopes up based on b4nny's vague nothing-statements
90% of people who visit valve leave with a positive reasssurance. That isn't because they got special treatment or because they were lied to, it's because valve legitimately has idealistic goals for the game. They just suck fat chode at ever coming within even 12 miles of ever half-assing an acceptable end result. Basically, take any piss-poor expectations created by sidelineing the game (as we majorly have done as a community the past 4 years), and slash those expectations in half. You are now only overestimating valve by 15%.
So when is Valve going to nerf the Mad Milk?
Before Jungle Infernal I always felt that Pyro should be able to remove the effects of mad milk and Jarate with his primaries since heat makes liquids evaporate. Then again, Airblast could be seen as blow drying as well...
sure would be nice to be part of this exclusive club of people who get communication from valve
If you become one of the best known comp TF2 players you'll probably get some communication from Valve, especially about comp issues. Certain people getting privileged info based on their positions and relationships is something that happens everywhere around the world and in every industry. You just got to learn to accept it.
Who even is in the "club" besides B4nny, Uncle Dane, I assume other top level competitive TF2 players, and, idk, maybe Geel?
"Talk to valve" is different than getting a reply to a statement or email- i get replies from valve when we ask, because I'm a community event host. But to actually get discourse and a sense of intent out of them as far as general update or game stuff takes being invited to valve like b4nny or Dane. They think it's bad business to have (unintentional) leaks, and valve takes that up to 11; for example, the sheer amount of speculation they force valve news network to do because they just don't say anything ever.
strange new pyro weps when
Having a strange Thermal Thruster would probably need to have them program a new stat like "times taken off" which, judging from the speed Valve works on things in this game, would alone take them 7 months of dev time.

The Scout and Medic ones tile, and the Demo one seems to sort of tile, but not really.
I was looking in the materials folder and saw these weird class pictures, they all have "dudv" in the name.
They're for when you're partially cloaked.
the spy one looks like he has seen some shit
the spy one looks like he has seen some shit
witnessing unspeakable horrors is a requirement of the spy class
the spy one looks like he has seen some shit
He witnessed the double homicide of his two beloved comrades, the Ambassador and the Dead Ringer.
They're for when you're partially cloaked.
To add, DUDV is for the refraction on DX8. DX9+ uses normal maps.
strange new pyro weps when
speaking of pyro weapons why isn't there any killstreaks for the dragon's fury, hot hand and the thermal thruster?
To add, DUDV is for the refraction on DX8. DX9+ uses normal maps.
Didn't know normal maps could be used for that, just knew they could add the illusion of small height variances and texture like bumpiness to flat parts of models.
speaking of pyro weapons why isn't there any killstreaks for the dragon's fury, hot hand and the thermal thruster?
cause that involves touching mvm stuff and valve be like "eww"
Unpopular opinion: the pyro's flame physics changes should be reverted until a fix is developed. Underwhelming > Overpowered, in this case. Before i get dumb boxed to oblivion by pyro mains who care more about a strong pyro than game balance, let's be real with ourselves here: The new flamethrower is one of the biggest detractors of fun right now for how much brainless guaranteed damage it is, and it cannot stay this way.
pyro isn't even overpowered though, it just seems like it because there's always at least 3 on every team
cause that involves touching mvm stuff and valve be like "eww"
they already touched mvm by giving them upgrades so i dunno why they didn't think to add killstreaks for them.
pyro isn't even overpowered though, it just seems like it because there's always at least 3 on every team
That is an interesting position to take. But if you seriously believe that, do explain why. The flame thrower is not the overall pyro class, either.
Shortstop used to improve the healing mad milk did for him
This mechanic never actually worked, which is probably why Valve added the weirdo "shove" mechanic to the Shortstop.
This mechanic never actually worked, which is probably why Valve added the weirdo "shove" mechanic to the Shortstop.
Does anyone even legit use the Shove mechanic?
Does anyone even legit use the Shove mechanic?
If bullying friendlies counts, then maybe.
The payload keeping overheal bug seems to be back
