Honestly I prefer the way the shadows look on Scout's skin with the 2017 lighting but the lack of shadows from 2007 lighting looks better on his clothes.
Been playing a bit of TF2PL the past few days and it's proven to be a good experience, much better than anything Valve matchmaking had to offer. I seriously recommend you guys follow the instructions, sign up and join the Beginner's League. You won't always get great matches (I'm currently 1-2), but most people are playing to win and throwers/etc are being penalized quickly. Just make sure to read up on the rules, follow the full tutorial, and walk into things with a competitive-oriented mindset: that losses are a learning experience and you should always put forth your best effort.
Where can I sign up to play full-time Pyro so I never have to touch Scout, Soldier, or Demo? I hear they ban you if you play any class other than Scout, Soldier, Demoman, or Medic for more than an allotted time period. That sounds like a farce to me.
You heard wrong.
that is actually a rule on ETF2L
If it's really that big of a problem play on HLPUGs.TFhttps://na.hlpugs.tf
the beginner queue is full of morons who didn't follow the instructions and install discord
it doesn't matter how precise your instructions are when most of the time, nobody reads them and just jumps in expecting to show up and play like it's valve 6s
that is actually a rule on ETF2L
It's not lol
A Menozit video I actually liked:
People aren't going to get better at the game when the current 12v12 experience teaches them that the only way to counter a team stacked with 6 pyros is to stack their team with pyros as well. Because that's the real issue here - a singular pyro isn't going cause much issue, but with no class limits and 12 slots per team, the majority of matches end up being a clusterfuck of blue and red pyros flailing around and making things hell for everyone else.
Whoever told you Pyro counters Pyro is stupid. Go Soldier or Demoman. Or if you want to ruin a Pyro's day, go mini sentry or danger shield.
you're clearly not interested in the format if you think full-time pyro is viable, don't troll also faceit/tfpl tf2 servers are being ddosed and the beginner queue is full of morons who didn't follow the instructions and install discord
What tipped you off about that? Of course I'm not interested in a format that limits the game so much.
Whoever told you Pyro counters Pyro is stupid. Go Soldier or Demoman. Or if you want to ruin a Pyro's day, go mini sentry or danger shield.
Also Heavy. I can mow down the Pyros with Heavy like flies, and heal the afterburn with my precious, trusty banana. And I must also note that it's incredibly shitty to fight a Pyro with good reflect skills and when you have Gunboats only. Feels so cheap.
What tipped you off about that? Of course I'm not interested in a format that limits the game so much.
then why bother trolling me about it? my post clearly wasn't aimed at you
It's not lol
you're correct, I got things mixed, it's a rule on PugChamp and not ETF2L
With the community sparkle on weapons coming back, maybe they could add a weapon unusual effect like some flies or 1s and 0s for people who report specific weapon bugs. edit: Massed Flies is already a thing, and I think the 1s and 0s is too, guess they would have to pay the creators?
Whoever told you Pyro counters Pyro is stupid. Go Soldier or Demoman. Or if you want to ruin a Pyro's day, go mini sentry or danger shield.
There's just so many ways to piss off a pyro, in no particular order: * Roll Vaccinator (has side bonus of pissing off all snipers as well) * Use a Chargin' Targe. * Chuck Mad Milk and run the fuck away * Chuck Jarate to coat yourself in cooling piss, mark him for mini crits and run the fuck away * Use Huntsman, aim in vague direction of pyro, arrow + hitbox will do the rest * Use a Direct Hit * (Any other rocket launcher) learn how to fake-out like you're going to fire, make them pre-emptively airblast, mistime all their airblasts and deplete their ammo, aerate them when they have nothing left. Most pyros don't know how to time their reflects properly, just instinctively right click as soon as the soldier fires and hope that the distance between them and the duration of the airblast is enough to send the rocket back. Fakeouts annoy the shit out of them because it throws off their entire timing. * (Scottish Resistance) Lay small traps to a retreat point, catch a pyro's attention and then just keep running back, deploying each stickytrap as the silly fireboye runs after you eventually dies. * (Non-Scottish Resistance) Make one sticky trap, bait pyro into following you. Thanks to the comically vision obscuring fire particles, he'll just walk right into them. * Spy: Run away, use gun. * Heavy: Eat Sandwich, aerate pyro with whatever minigun you're using. * Medic: Pop Uber, run away. If no uber, take out needlegun, pepper the shit out of him and run away. Don't be cute with the ubersaw, just fucking run.
Jarate and Mad Milk now work in a similar vein the Gas Passer does, being that it's default charge is slow, but damaging people generates it faster, resulting in good Snipers and Scouts getting their shit back at regular time, but bad players having to wait longer. Do you approve?
Holy fucking god why haven't they changed the default settings? Didn't know it starts at 854x480. They added a whole new command in JI, party chat (you still can't change the key for it in the settings, have to use the console) and they didn't touch the default settings. Seriously up max fov to 100 and make 90 the default, and up max viewmodel fov (without commands) to 74 and make the default 70. edit: added video embed, was a picture embed I think lol

So apparently a cheat called sparkly cheat is now detected by VAC, 1000+ bans. edit: according to this lmaobox was also affected

He was immediately kicked after using hacks.
I think Tutorial Contracts is the way to go

Which is nice to know honestly... Or maybe they're prioritizing getting all the trash out of the game first to see how many actual gamers they're really dealing with perhaps?
You know there are days when i'd consider putting up the prizes for a community update unlike arms race that is just to added more weapons to the game without being new weapons just replacements to existing items. Eg. Padding and evening numbers of replacements for each class. However i'm unsure if people would be interested in something like that.
new weapons are always a pretty sight.
new weapons are always a pretty sight.
But the all important "balance"
I'll take some new weapon reskins just for the hell of it. Besides we haven't had any weapon re-skins in a long while as far as I know.
But the all important "balance"
While also keeping them unique or interesting and fit a roll that doesn't overlap on other existing weapons rolls completely. If they're too similar, then it's just a tug of war battle between it and the other weapon. Like the Degreaser is with the stock flamethrower. There has to be a reason to use both weapons that isn't super super situation ( Tomislav vs Stock minigun are having this issue ).
But the all important "balance"
The game isnt balanced so why pretend it is?
