so I'm going through all my Saxxy voting at the last second, and boy if ever there were a thing that could IMMEDIATELY pull me out of an animation super hard, it's people doing mediocre impressions of the TF2 classes. like, I get it, voice acting is hard and I have the utmost respect for the craft, but trying to copy someone else's performance just never quite sounds right. if you're using Scout's model as a standin actor for your Original Character Do Not Steal, and they have an original voice actor, that's just fine by me. but if your SFM stars the Jeremy The Scout From Teams Defense Fort 2, and he doesn't sound exactly correct, it's just going to be weird and it's gonna distract me super bad from all the good things about your short. EDIT: oh, also, further note for any SFM artists who might be reading this: if you make a video and you decide to give existing TF2 characters new voice work, please, please commit to using that voice actor. if I watch your Saxxy submission and Scout starts alternating between actual in-game voice lines and new dialogue by a completely different actor, any immersion I could have possibly had in your film is immediately fucking annihilated.
A great video about valve balancing and how the slow process affects the game.

I still miss the bfb.
Kinda wish I could add random people I see on casual to my party so I could play with them without having to add them on Steam
Kinda wish I could add random people I see on casual to my party so I could play with them without having to add them on Steam
That would be cool. Utilize the ability to click on names in the TAB menu and have an option to "add to party".
They should remake the Saxxy model with the new Hale model

I would love to do some sort of a project and try to make a SFM map playable with balanced gameplay in TF2.

Guess they want at least four months of weapon usage data analysis before even thinking of rebalancing a weapon. edit: sort of in response to this, but also just a general statement
A great video about valve balancing and how the slow process affects the game. I just had a weird game on powerhouse, there was something who I think was cheating? The most obvious thing was that they were constantly playing the suijin harp thing over and over again, and they were obviously a cheater because they only had 53 hours in the game...I'm not really sure if they were aimbotting or anything because they played like someone who was new to the game and kept dying, but still managed to score a lot of points. What my question is, how common is the harp thing and how do they do it? E: videoo

I just played against a super speed scout that could instant cap points.
[del]Some[/del] Someone on reddit said a hacker was somehow playing the music at the beginning of a Suijin round at any time (fun fact a noise maker also makes the music) but it seems to have been removed/deleted.
The "Suijin sound" is the Koto noisemaker. Normally such noisemakers are limited use. Most premium TF2 cheats allow for unlimited usage of otherwise limited noisemakers. It's pretty common for flagrant cheaters to spam noisemakers. The particularly horrible sounding halloween noisemakers are popular with rage hackers.
How is "only 53 hours" considered a definite cheater? I know game hours can get pretty warped for TF2 specifically but that's 2 straight days of playing with no breaks and change.
It’s usually a sign of a new account. 52 hours is roughly 4 hours a day for 2 weeks.
I find a good way to check for hackers is to view their profiles, you can do this from the scoreboard if you use this script. Red flags for hacker accounts are normally: - Vac Ban on profile (with some exceptions, for example if the ban is from 4 years ago it's probably for something not related to TF2) - Profile set to private or not set up at all. - If their profile is available to view it's set up in a "lolol u got trolled" kinda way and has connections to hacker groups - account only has a few hours of TF2 on it - Spamming binds in chat. - Profile pic is of an anime girl or supermodel. (not always the case but it's a trend I've noticed) - Very low level casual level player at the to of the scoreboard (once again, not always the case, sometimes people "smurf" in TF2 for some reason, and sometimes are just good from the get go) - Not as common anymore but "ironic" brony theming aka naming their weapons stuff like "pinky pie's anal dildo" or something similar and using bright pink paints. This is more for "silent" hackers but I guess it's also good for confirming who the asshole spamming the screaming noise maker is.

Also I hope they make the taskbar notification pop up when you're fully loaded into the match and can play. (how does it work on mac/linux?)

You're all wrong, there's a check box for it in the advanced options rofl
I just check for hackers with my eyeballs.
or you just use tf_scoreboard_mouse_mode 2
Last I checked the Adv. Options only lets you use tf_scoreboard_mouse_mode 0 or 1, not 2, which is strange.
I just played against a super speed scout that could instant cap points.
Yeah, they can use the same exploit to give themselves infinite health packs as well. Thank god the capping exploit is hella obv and they usually just get vote'd.
How is "only 53 hours" considered a definite cheater? I know game hours can get pretty warped for TF2 specifically but that's 2 straight days of playing with no breaks and change.
Yeah I've got 800 hours and people still call me out for hacking based upon them.
Heavy isn't a flank class. https://v.redd.it/92bd7sojall01
all I see here is the wood cutout versions of the classes on squeaky wheels moving around unconsciously if they were somewhat decent you'd be dead in seconds
