A weapon can be both good, and fun

The weapon magazine on the Backscatter always gave me the impression of an "infinite firing gun", kinda like that SMG in MGS3. I was thinking about some gimmick ideas to give to the Backscatter, but every time I came to this question: Why use anything else besides Scattergun? Reliable damage, accuracy and rewards ability of the user. What role could the Backscatter serve to the Scout that his normal arsenal doesn't fulfill?
Was looking in the steamdb github and tf_english for info on map filters for this post, and I found that what seems to be that heat bar that appears if switching from the DF to another flamethrower without respawning was for the jetpack. In tf_english::

Personally, the reduced clip size is enough to make me think twice about any possible future upsides on it, including a dagame bonus.
I have more or less the same feeling for the Baby Face Blaster in the same case, both highly inconsistent to define its weapon mechanics.
I miss v1 Baby Face Blaster that was the only scout unlock with the same clip size as stock.
Hey you can inspect the Saxxy now, any owners care to share a clip? (I know it uses the all class inspect animation)
The issue with the BFB is that it takes 100 points of damage to maximize and only 25 points to drop you to 0.
A stray pistol shot will cost you half of its speed.
And of course, gravity damage counts.
I really hope the next balance patch goes over some of the really underpowered weapons like the BFB, the Back Scatter, the Enforcer, the Amby, the DR and the Syringe guns. It still feels like we need some pyro weapon reworks for the Axtingisher, Gas Passer and the Degreaser among others.

I find it really funny how they made it so you don't even spawn with the damn thing.
Such a harsh restriction for something that is pretty much just the Scorch shot except worse.
Things I want in the next update:
Balance:
Fix Pyro flames
Increase the Thermal Thruster blast force by like 5-10% to make it stand out more from the Detonator
Make the Gas Passer MvM explosive damage not fill up the meter
Any Pyro rebalances they held off on to see how the new flames/airblast affected balance
Other things:
Improve the Thermal Thruster model
Stop the Ms. Pauling messages if you completed all the JI contracts
Improve performance by adding lower quality lod models for models without them
Make you have to complete the tutorial to play matchmaking (this would need to have the progress tracking not be a simple text file like it is now)
Improve Mercenary Park
Workshop war paint tools and optimize paint loading
(don't think this will happen) New gib models
Fix the Enforcer pierce and see if it's actually useful
Bug fixes
Add "Remove random crits" and that list is golden
Don't forget to put in "Add Random Gun Jams & Random Duds"
About the Enforcer; if the resistance penetration ability was to work correctly, would that include the resistance that sentry guns have while they are sapped?
Also, coming from someone who loves to play spy, why do dispensers and teles not get the resistance? ESPECIALLY the teles. In long payload maps, teles are pretty much indispensable for BLU to keep up the pressure if the teams are close to (or are) evenly skilled. All it takes is one spy to slip through, put a sapper down, and shoot it twice to nearly guarantee that the entrance dies, the only was it could get saved is if the engy or homewrecker pyro is turtling literally right next to the exit or spawns right then. After destroying the entrance, the spy is free to either fuck off to pester somebody else or get killed, because by the time the engy waddles back to spawn and puts up a new entrance, the other buildings are already destroyed, and the spy has respawned.
I just want VALVe to give Populus $10k so they have the rights to reverse engineer the Expanded Gibbed Characters addon from SFM.

Here is how you fix the Brass Beast:
Give it that unused attribute where, while revved up, you can't get pushed around/airblasted
Increase damage bonus by 5%
Make the damage reduction full-time while revved up, not just under 50% HP
Give it an ammo bonus
There, ultimate defensive minigun, pop the heavy near a dispenser and you are gucci

The "add random ubers/jams/whatever" seems to be just a meme response. There isn't really much thought put into it.
I'm not sure for certain what the point of that stuff is, but it seems to be "you should want Random crits removed because you don't want another random thing added".
The thing is that it's like saying "You should want the sniper class removed from the game because you don't want civilian/dog/whatever class added to the game".
In all those cases the first bit does not necessarily follow from the second.
Yes taking depth away from the game by shortening encounters and determining the victor based on luck instead of skill is such a perfect flawless idea we were such baffoons for not seeing that truely asic is not ignoring every argument made against them and probably should be president

Random Crits are a fun and engaging mechanic that add to the depth of tf2 and keep things balanced for lower skill players.
How is Jill supposed to find MUS now

as long as it can't respond to simple encounters it'll always be awful.
I'd love if random crits were a melee exclusive mechanic. Would be interesting to see it brought into a competitive scene.
