Yup, I don't use the dialog anymore too.
I'd rather it get completely reworked into a new weapon instead...
Oh my god, they're finally fixing the welcome cameras?
Did they not know? It's been like that since Casual was introduced!
what is a "welcome camera"
you mean the spectator presets?
You join a server and the first thing you see is a view of upward where the camera is clipping under the map. That bug has been around for fucking ages, and it really sucks.
i though it was a feature to denote how low your standards have fallen if you're playing upward.
It's weird they didn't know you couldn't speculate buildings in casual, it's been like that since MyM.
I opened Mercenary Park and it doesn't even have any spectator preset spots, guess they totally forgot it.
Don't a lot of maps have that problem?
i wonder if they'll fix casual games having the competitive logo in the end screen if you joined partway through and never saw the start-of-the-match door
So, that's why I've gotten no feedback about a bug report I made about two months ago? How could I get in contact with the TF Team myself, then?
All maps in casual, map makers set preset spots for the spectator camera to be, but in casual/comp it's broken and the camera's at the center of the map I believe. Maybe fixing it means they're bringing spectating to casual?
But Upward's a great map, easily one of the best Payloads.
What kind of maps do you prefer?
better than the one in Turbine where it's just clipping inside brushwork so you only hear ragdoll thuds
It's a Casual-wide issue, not map-specific.
Most maps (sans Merc. Park apparently), have working spectator cams that you can see by playing in a community server or somethin.
Everytime I make it to Degroot Keep the map's camera is out of bonds, showing me the entire map from afar in a black void.
Upward is literally one of the best maps in the game, the only big flaw is last. What's your perfect map if you think upward is a bad map?
Are there screenshots of the TF2 main menu over the years? Would like to see how its progressed.
sniper heaven, airblast heaven, sentries on last and mediocre frames
nothing worth being excited over.
I'm pretty sure it's just the original Spy/Heavy/Medic wallpaper - Active Dustbowl Preloading background - 2Fort/Upward greyscale - 2Fort/Upward greyscale with characters in the BG.
Speaking of, the preloading active background was super cool and practical, why'd they get rid of it? Was there a problem or error or glitch with it?
sorry, you forgot Q-tip soldier
Thanks!
wait, what?
Yesterday I got a good deal on a Strange Brass Bucket on the Steam Market. I bought it for 46 cents, but not only that, but it had this part on it.

i dunno how to thumb on this new forum
Damn that painterly and colorful style really fits tf2's fun and exciting theme as well as it's tone, but you know what would be better?
Static shots of empty maps.
IN BLACK AND WHITE
Made a mockup of a more CSGO style player info card, you would see this if you click on their name on the scoreboard like in CSGO

Also saw this interesting bit on the TF wiki:
Days after the murder of Redmond and Blutarch, Saxton Hale had tracked the last known Yeti to the Kingdom of Bhutan, only to discover that it had been pacified by hippies employing Behavioral Counseling and aromatherapy. By punching the Yeti in the face, Saxton undid these months of reconditioning. In the resulting fight, Saxton Hale defeated and captured the Yeti, then keeping it confined in a simple habitat in the
fighting theme park, Yeti Park.
In the following months, the captured Yeti was biomedically enhanced for even less speakable savagery within the YTI Institute for Research and Development adjacent to the park. The whole bloody point of this conditioning was to create the most challenging animal for Saxton Hale to fight when it escaped. Almost a year later, seething with steroidal strength and rage, the Yeti broke free of its laboratory confinement, bloodying the walls with the unfortunate staff of the Institute. With an assist from the Scout, Saxton Hale tracked and fought the escaped Yeti, killing it with a Yeti Punch.
Saxton Hale stuffed and mounted the defeated Yeti and displayed the trophy in his office with other mementos of his earlier adventures and animal fights; shortly before losing his collection, his office, and his entire company to Olivia Mann.
Borneo is objetively better both visually and as a payload map. even its last has enough room for newbies to stack sentries in very easy to set but hard to maintain spots with enough room to be attacked outside their natural range if not supported, and attacking teams can/will be shut down extremely fast on the very first spawn by explosive clases.
Upward isn't a bad map, it just has too many sniper sightlines and spots to cower in that tend to ruin fun for everyone else. Last just needs it's most common pub sentry spot on the balcony to be attackable from more angles, and it would be an even better map than the great one it already is.
A map design theory- the less sniper friendly a map is, the more fun it is for all the other classes.
junction must be god tier then
