So Valve is moving their offices next month, right?
What do you think, will the update release before or after the move? If they release it afterwards, they're getting awfully close to encroaching upon Halloween.
Didn't they move already, in july?
They postponed the move until mid Sept.
EDIT:
At least I think it was mid. Some time in Sept.

That's the valve we know and love.
I've been playing this game for so long with cosmetics that completely change the look of my character, when I take them all off it feels like a breath of fresh air. Seriously, it's so refreshing to see the default mercenaries. The default engineer and soldier are the best looking imo. Does anyone else feel this way?
scout's default hat is the best
Pretty much everyone looks great by default. Very distincive and not overly flashy. Too bad there's not that many cosmetics that only alter style without adding obnoxiousness.
We need an all class no hat.

Pyro no hat. It's just a blob of Pyroland

A lot of cosmetics are pretty minimalistic and add to the character instead of completely changing it. You're basing that off the miniority of cosmetics that are flashy.
Btw, how old is Pyro? Not much older than scout I suppose, judging from how carefree he is.
The pyro is eternal
What was the reasoning behind sniper's lack of a bodygroup for his sunglasses?
I assume it's because when the game was in development for 9 years they never thought at any point they'd be putting hats in that would interfere with his standard appearance as drastically as what we have presently, and it's just easier to solder the damned things in place than let them jump around.

He needs his glasses to see.
Here's your i61 blog post: http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=31956

I just can't find a nice cosmetic loadout for my heavy: every hat makes him look dumb (maybe except bear necessities)

Then why did they give Scout and Demo feet bodygroup?
-sniplate-
I'm a happy boy now :)
In the mist of everyone going into depression for a lack of Steve Guttenberg, can we just talk about how we've gotten 7 news posts (and one real blog post) in the span of less then a full month?
I also don't understand why they don't use their dead Twitter for the news section of the site instead of making everyone go into cardiac arrest every time the page monitors go off?

Having your page monitor for the news section of TF2 is a death-sentence.
Alone in the last two weeks we have gotten like 5 news posts. It's kinda weird but I ain't betting an eye on it.
Then why did they give Scout and Demo feet bodygroup?
According to the TF2 wiki, these bodygroups were added in 2011. For the scout this was to accommodate the "Essential Accessories" replacing his shoes and socks, for the Demoman this was added presumably for the upcoming Uber Update that included the Ali Baba's Wee Booties. There hasn't been a need to replace Sniper's glasses when it's easier to just leave them there. Sure, it looks stupid, but so does a lot of the paints.

Your taste in virtual fashion is probably off then
What was the reasoning behind sniper's lack of a bodygroup for his sunglasses?
if i recall correctly, a lot of the sniper's (and medic's) facial flexes move the glasses around, and flexes don't work on bodygroups at all, so it's one or the other
(and they'd have to spend time editing all the vertex info for all the flexes on those classes to remove all the info for the glasses mesh - i don't know how long that would take, but i do remember some incident a while back (around pyromania, i think?) where someone emailed a valve employee asking for a sniper glasses bodygroup, so the guy just moved the glasses to their own bodygroup without editing the flexes at all, which of course just completely broke the sniper's face so they didn't ship it :v:)
there's an easy alternative, though - the glasses are rigged to their own separate bone (prp_glasses), so they could always just scale the bone down to 0 to hide it that way, and not screw around with bodygroups or flexes (this is already what they do to remove character's heads when they're decapitated by a sword or something)
Man, there still isn't a Steve Guttenberg blog post, and it's 12:38 PM in Valve. While Insomnia blog post was out an hour ago, which required more effort than copypaste of previous years blog posts.
What if they are cooking a surprise for us?
Can I just say that it seems really dumb that the i61 stream is at EssentialsTF. People have just wondered what the heck it is for a while and now they're hosting the stream? What?
Was there something wrong with teamfrotresstv or did they make a bigger bid or something?
The follower number differences are pretty drastic too, teamfortresstv has 51k and EssentialsTF has 2340.

A pal of mine thought about this before he went to sleep last night and dreamt of something super sweet.
They basically did the generic guttenberg blog post, and then ended it with a "wait... this time we are giving you a gift!" and you got a super large timer ending on saturday, where they would reveal a 4 day update, starting on saturday and releasing on tuesday.
thats a cute baby
