I really want mexican or atleast colombian valve servers. I'm sick of playing with high ping in valve servers and really don't want to wake up at 4am to play a casual game. Most of the servers that are close to where I live are dead community servers. I just wanna play tf2 like everyone else without dealing with really high fucking ping.
So apparently there was a (fixed) remote code execution exploit on Source games including Tf2 that could install the trojan when a user killed another. How? Through the ragdolls. Thankfully it's been fixed but watch your servers to make sure it's not running older sourcemod just in case. So if Geel doesn't pay his update bet out, does that count as a toxx?
Should I post the publicly available, still fresh on the general discord convo the guys had when they finally GOT MUS? (I cut out a bit while FP was 503'd[sp]it was wok-posting[/sp], and put a little bonus at the end. This is about 1 and a half days old.) http://imgur.com/a/t0ZTe Important highlights/notes: 1. Kiwi thought moderating the thread was too much effort for him. He also thought 4 people should've been banned and pointed here, but didn't do it. 2. The tf2 section actually has had less reports than any other section (according to Craptasket), but MUS was the worse in terms of the reports(not surprising) 3. Yes, this was the tone whenever the MUS thing was brought up on the discord. See 1 for how the mod response was usually. 4. REAGY FOR ADMIN. DID THE WORK OF TWO MODS WHO PUBLICLY GAVE UP ON MODDING THE THREAD [t]http://i.imgur.com/d1iHyFL.png[/t]

It's honestly a load of bull that mods seem to be not wanting to take any input on whatsoever, or they won't bother making a dedicated poster a moderator instead so they don't have to stress over such a difficult job of banning 4 people.

Stroheim is the hero that the TF2 Subforum deserves. *I'd put a salute emoji here but there isn't one* It's a shame he'll never be able to open a new MUS thread. :(
The tone of the discussion just seems disrespectful to the people who still take this community seriously.
"is it finally dying" "its a miserable pile of pessimism and shitposting" "TF2 is dead" "too much effort" "I hope you will destroy the TF2 section" and the worst part is when Kiwi didn't even bother banning after a report, goes to show what kind of work ethic comes from people who moderate a game they don't care about, then complain that there are too many shitposters.
Man seeing this shows how disrespectful some of the mods are. (In my opinion) It feels very insulting to me, and probably to everyone else in this community. They decide to randomly shove the middle finger at us and throw insults at us without good reasoning. People who doesn't care about a game or subforum shouldn't have influence on what goes on there. Again, this is how i feel myself and i'm not speaking for the community in general.
The tone of the discussion just seems disrespectful to the people who still take this community seriously.
I mean this is the same mod who posted (image) when a user pm'd and asked why they didn't get the shitposters and not the entire thread. There was a TF2 Facepunch discord that someone else had made and has been linked to previously, but it never seemed to have picked up traction and lacks activity. I currently already run a server (unrelated to TF2) with over 60 people in it, so I have some experience moderating. I've made a new one if anyone wants to reside here and join before the inevitable doom of the TF2 subforum. Discord invite: https://discord.gg/mrWVqPa If this counts against the rules, let me know and I will snip the post.
I hope this isn't one of those situations where you get banned just for showing this though.
I genuinely hope not, that would be extremely wrong of them and shady. It might as well be a dictatorship if you get banned for showing stuff like this.

It's better at least. (again, his account linked on FP and steam, if he played more or has more hours on console tf2, I'll update it.
There is objectively no difference between MUS and TF2 General

Oizen was wrong then and is still wrong now.
While it falls more under moderation discussion than tf2 discussion, I really like Reagy's professional (in comparison to tasket or kiwi) reaction. I also agree with all above, people who are not part of the tf2s active playerbase shouldn't be influencing the tf subsection. I understand they have to moderate the entire website and not selectively the subforums they like, and while removing the "problematic" to moderate threads seems like a logical solution, there are way better solutions, both community approval and PR/professionalism wise, for example making your mind up on shitposts (ban all, or allow all, no gray areas and rule bending) and enforce it. Also as much as I'd hate to be disrespectful to mods it's really just a case of "thats what being a mod is". A duty you choose to take up as an effort to keep the forums clean and usable for everyone. Nobody ever said it will be easy or fun. You get to be part of the green name club and the slack chat but it comes at a cost of sacrificing your free time and putting in effort. If you don't like doing that, free the spot for someone else who will. There are people that masochistic, willing to do all that for just the green name and satisfaction of giving back to the community, believe it or not. I think it is still TF2 general worthy content because it relates to the state of the tf2 subforum as a whole, right? Also I realise thats not the place to be giving lectures, but I'd also like opinions on that from everyone here. In the end I just kind of care about the whole thing. Registered solely for MUS.

There is objectively no difference between MUS and TF2 General

There is effectively no difference in your work as a mod in this subforum and being a lurker in this subforum.
"rebelling against the authority" only makes things worse. moderators always have the final word

If there's no difference then cut general chat. People still use MUS. General chat takes AGES to lock. If you can't find the time to do your fucking job, get some other mods to do it. Jesus Christ. It's so annoying to just see laziness kill off something so many peole still use. I don't like to be rude or come off as rude, but your killing a subforum and a small community of people who enjoy that thread. They enjoy talking to those people, meeting new people, and some people even enjoy the shitposts. I honestly can't believe someone has to explain this simple logic to you. You're effectively just throwing away something people like because you can't be bothered. Most people don't even complain about the shitpost she. It's really not a huge deal. I probably sound super scatterbrained through all this, but I wanted to get my thoughts out. [editline]20th July 2017[/editline]
"rebelling against the authority" only makes things worse. moderators always have the final word
I'd rather people get their thoughts in. Nothing's going to change if we don't talk about it.

oh god, I forgot about max. Bad times.
why have people who almost never play tf2 moderate a tf2 subforum really gets the neurons firing
why have people who almost never play tf2 moderate a tf2 subforum really gets the neurons firing
Truley a  moment for the ages.
Because people dont care to make new mods for the tf2 sub forum because they dont care about tf2 in general,so we are just left with what we have right now.
