A game like tf2 isn't meant to be played with a controller on PC. You can't compete with people on keyboard and mouse.

It's still shitty when they have it and it's broken, why even have it in the first place if it doesn't work properly. There is no H button on a controller, and my character shouldn't be moving and looking around when I'm in a menu that I need to navigate.
Also, the Steam Controller is perfectly viable for casual. Using a keyboard and mouse on a couch isn't ideal.
Strange filters on the other hand just make no sense to me. I bought a sunshine one to test how it worked, because I have never seen one in game, and it's even more weird than I thought.
...
And why would people spend $1 to make their strange weapon worst? It's not attractive at all and just confusing.
I've written to them fairly recently about this before, and EricS said he'd pass the comments along to the team. Nothing else said, of course, but hopefully they'll take some action on it.
The simplest fix for this would be to just let you track maps the same as with any other stat. So it would work just like "Headshot Kills" or "Critical Kills," only in this case it might be "Kills on Snowycoast" or "Kills on Landfall." And it doesn't lock you into having a strange weapon that is ONLY useful on one map. Instantly way more useful like that.
Right now, I feel like they're rather pointless to buy, and (without going into numbers obviously), they don't exactly crank up my overall revenue, so I suspect most people agree.

Training mode: The training mode only has 4 classes. This is ok, but a full 9 classes would be useful. The tips in the character select menu should be expanded upon in the training mode, like the Pyro ambushing enemies around corners and how to use the airblast efficiently. When someone first boots up the game, this should be at the front of the menu with a big "Play" button. When they complete it, it'll go away.

I feel like the worst part about this is that there is no tutorial for Pyro. There'd be less of the infamous "F2p-Pyro-could-have-saved-me-but-didn't"-Situation, if that shit was taught in the tutorial. (Also I'd appreciate being able to train my reflect timings.)
Also I'm aware Pyro prolly didn't have airblast back when they created the trainings, making a pyro training obsolete at that time.
If i had to choose would i buy filter or map stamp for someones map to support them, i would go for the stamp.
Lets do a quick poll, which one everyone else would get? Press "Friendly" (heart) for stamp, "Zing" (lightning) for filter. Go!

Anybody know what causes this? I have both mat_phong and mat_specular set to 0 but this is the only prop in the entire game that seems to be affected and I don't know what setting I have that would explain this.
Filters have always been kinda stupid on how they work but i love how they gave a little title to your strange. Wish strange parts could do this.
Too bad the Manmelter is hot garbage.
It reloads extremely slowly and doesn't even reload while it's holstered despite claiming that it does. I'm pretty sure they have it set up to recharge reload instead of standard reload since you'll hear a ding to indicate that it's ready to fire instead of a reload animation.
The 20% slower firing speed was removed in MyM. It also doesn't technically "reload" at all since Flare Guns have no reserve ammo, like Sniper Rifles. There's no special "recharge reload", it just forces you to wait 2s between shots.
Apparently there's a bug with Heavy's minigun that prevents him from dealing damage for a second or so, despite having full accuracy and rampup.

Yeah exactly. But even then stamps aren't great right now. The hat is nice but limits your loadout when you actually wear it. There's so much opportunities to encourage people to buy multiple stamps, like stamp tiers and a stamp collection page.

naah it's just valve sneaking in another heavy nerf that they can fix when the pyro update finally drops

There's a ton of things I wish the TF Team would do.
1. Change it so Collector's-quality items can continue to have matching items put into them. Any quantity beyond 200 (the base number of items needed) will display a counter similar to Strange-quality items.
2. Add Strange Filters for Valve-developed maps.
3. Allow the crafting of Strange-Part hybrids; i.e. "Critical Kills against Airborne enemies," "Headshot Kills against Invisible Spies," "Damage Dealt against Robots," and so on.
4. Client setting to disable case-tier item color overrides. As an example: a Strange Professional Killstreak Aqua Marine would not just say "Aqua Marine" with blue text in-game, instead saying "Strange Professional Killstreak Aqua Marine" with the standard orange text.
Things like these would make me so happy.

I kinda wish someone was petty enough to cross out in red all of the icons on that mural that they're no longer working on, I'd do it but I'm lazy AF.

The correct term is best shirt, actually.

He is in town for pax, most likely is just around and asked to get a tour. Doesn't mean the team won't show him something, however if they do he will likely not talk about much until the update releases.
Cant dane call himself one of the last few to get another tour?
Besides, hope he gets some info, or just a cheeky smile.

I've experience this issue for years. It happens on Landfall and 2Fort frequently. The only fix I've found is disconnecting and reconnecting. I have an older AMD (7970) card on Win 8.5.

I respect anyone who has the balls to wear geeky shit in public. Seriously though, cool shirt

Getting a tour of Valve is extremely easy

Depends how far you live.

Valve visits usually provide nothing in terms of useful update information.
Barring Tyler's press conference with the tf team, everything we've heard so far from everyone who's visited valve has been blanket reassurances and generalized fluff, which is useless for speculation.

That's not true at all. Check out the information we gained Last time he visited.
Of course that doesn't mean there is a 100% chance of dane coming back with something to work with, or something at all, but saying "Valve Visits provide nothing in terms of useful update info" is just wrong.
Valve is like Willy Wonka except instead of staying closed and only letting a few people in to see wondrous things they let anyone in and have nothing of worth to show anyone.

I wonder what Willy Wonka's gift shop is like.
But staying on topic, I'm curious on how the devs implement fan-made weapons into the game. Do they start with stats first then add the items they like the best onto them?

side note but i actually really appreciate your participation in these threads
mostly because it gives more insight to your thought process and personality and makes me able to trust you more when I watch your content
plus it gives you more opportunity to gain clarity on TF2 information so we wont have m/any repeats of the past

It is a terrible weapon. Heck, it even suffers when other pyros exist trying to put out fires. Team work actually hurts this weapon.
On my server we replaced it with a new type of flare gun, but you already know about this one, so I won't go into details.

Oh. Right, that one too, forgot.
Even still that was back in freakin' January and we've seen didly squat of ANY of that- which makes me wonder how much of that was simply projections of what they wanted to do, vs actual update content.
