I make a point of buying 1 map stamp per map, when they get added to the game

The TF Team has seemingly gifted Dane a Baby Sized Wrench. That's pretty cute.
Among the changes I'd like to see to the Manmeleter/Phlog is for the former to be the only secondary that builds mmph for the latter. Obviously, it'd need additional buffs for this to make sense.

That's a nice little keepsake from the TF2 team. I would love for the TF2 team to give him a golden wrench as well since he deserves one.
Hopefully he got some tidbits of info and does a video for us soon.

I hope this doesn't happen. They've been actively removing sets bonuses and set synergies, in order to allow more flexible loadouts. This would go against this mentality.

I hope they got the engi a replacement wrench.
doesn't it seem weird that valve would randomly desecrate their custom-made stuff without a second thought? Imagine seeing a collector do that.

It's not custom made though, you can buy one if you want (and have an extra $219 lying around)

wait, so they gave him the wrench from that statue or what?
wait, so they gave him the wrench from that statue or what?
At first I was doubtful if it was just the Wrench of that statue, but looking at it closer, though, it totally is.
That means that either this statue is fucking huge or Dane's hands are baby sized. Let's hope for some info on the update, maybe, tomorrow.
EDIT: The statue itself is a good 13 inches big. That's a sizable wrench.

What would you do to (A) buff the worst Pyro secondary and (B) encourage teamwork when using the Phlog?

he didn't post a pic of the statue itself, so that'd be pretty weird if they just took part of it and gave it to him :v:

Allow the Phlog to put out allies, allow the Mannmelter to remove any debuf
So how about that reserve shooter?
-alright-

Based on their actions over the last few years, I really don't see Valve doing that ...ever.
They did break up sets in 2013 ...that included a cosmetic item, because said cosmetics were too difficult for F2Ps to get. The sets that offered in-game effects were essentially pay to win.
Valve have had a decidedly different approach to weapon synergy ...to both good and ill effects. The Degreaser and Reserve Shitter are still OP cancer. The BSS and Warrior's Spirit are ...shit, actually. Every Demo sword more or less requires a shield. The BASE Jumper is practically a prerequisite for the Air Strike (at least until the former gets nerfed.)
It strikes me as unwise to weaken the already questionable synergy between the Phlog and MM. In my view the two weapons should compliment each other mechanically as well as thematically. I hope Valve is able to do that with the coming (heh) Pyro update. The Phlog would make a great candidate for the "Lightning Gun" idea I see tossed around here and on /r/tf2.
Robin Walker is back on the TF2 team according to this poster given to Uncle Dane :

Well Walker just signed the poster. It doesn't exactly mean that he's working on the game.
I counted over 30 names on that poster. Again maybe it's all the people still at valve that have worked at some point on tf2, and not the current tf team. But it was said before that when they get close to the release the team size grows as devs outside of the tf team come in to help them during crunch.
Idk if it's a confirmation Robin Walker is back on the tf2 team. He signed tf2 posters while working on dota i'm pretty sure. And tbh what stops him from working a bit on both games in one day, there's no way to know what each dev is doing right now unless they tell us directly.

Kinda jumping the gun a bit there Tyler :v:, wouldn't be surprised if Robin drops by every now and then to see how his game's going though.

Yeah I don't think Robin still works on TF2, he seems to work on Steam based on recent information we've gotten (he made a post on Steam about changes to the Steam store a month or two ago and when Totalbiscuit recently visited Valve he said that he talked with Robin about Steam).
That being said since TF is his baby he probably checks in on them from time to time.
I imagine they just got Robin's signature for the poster.

i'm pretty sure robin signed my poster last year, too. it doesn't mean anything.

At least we'll have someone else to go after if the rumor turns out false.

Quite a bit of a large conclusion based off of something that is almost obviously just TF2-associated workers signing a poster.
Nine six; Neato 2: Electric Boogaloo
It'd be hilarious if they had everyone who came to visit the Valve offices sign some random posters with the instruction, "Just sign any name you like."
Then when the posters were full enough, they'd hand them out to someone in another group. "This is from everyone on the TF2 team, lel."
weird, random thought:
heavy the character is often viewed on a surface level as dumb and simple. however, he's actually extremely intelligent- up to and including having a doctorate in Russian Literature- and very, very good at killing folks, seen from as early as his origin story breaking out of the gulags with his family. underestimating heavy the character can and absolutely will get you killed.
heavy the players are often viewed as dumb and simple. especially people who don't actually play heavy, who think you can just pile onto people and take every 1v1, regardless of positioning. heavy played properly, however, utilizes game sense and team work- arguably requiring it more than any other class in the game- and makes him monstrous in coordinated team fights and well-planned engagements. playing heavy is simple- being good, or great with him requires great game sense and the ability to punish people with inferior positioning and game sense.
in this way, a great heavy player is extremely similar to heavy the character- both being underestimated based on surface-level assumptions and stereotypes, and both having great potential to be extremely dangerous against opponents of inferior skill and mental footwork.
it makes me wonder if those parallels are intentional, or just a happy accident.
I like when the fat man says pootis.
