Funny how i didn't care at all about the pyro update until i started reading this forum. Now i'm frigging obsessed.

I used to wake up at 5 in the morning and check the new pages on my DSi's Browser and then go back to sleep. The balance change post was appreciated but also months past its expected release and gave nothing else regarding the update, so was a single step up the staircase at best.
Those blogposts feel like their purpose is to create impression of communication, instead of actually doing it. In a sense, we are still at the same page as we were before MyM, with disjointed pieces of info being thrown out in a middle of total silence.
Speaking of communication, I hope the team doesn't remove the Flying Guilliotine's Sandman gimmick without adding something new in. The bleeding alone isn't very interesting as a mechanic, and I'd rather see an overall damage decrease over the removal of something fun to use.

Fast knives when you land your shots is what they're replacing it with though, which sounds like a lot of fun. You get to throw a cleaver every ~4.5 seconds if you don't miss.
I do agree that the main Sandman gimmick is a real pain to play against, but I don't see their planned upside of faster cleavers being on the first page on the book of creativity. If they'll let the Guillotine regenerate instantly on hit, then it would be fun to use, but I can also imagine them taking a riskless alternative of increasing the 6 sec regen rate by 20%. That'd be like nothing at all.
There's also that little, tiny, lilliputian matter of granting the fastest class in the game the ability to engage in low-effort spam at long range with a 3000 HU/s projectile dealing 90 damage over time. Anyone thinking the Flying Guillotine will lose utility after the death of the combo is crazy.
My suggestion is a little insane in quick retrospect, but my point would be to take great strides over minor stat tweaks when it comes to rebalancing something entirely.

Valve's work-where-you-want policy is the main reason why the team is so small because a majority of the employees doesn't want to work on TF2. They are a small team which has very little people to the size of major video game titles.

You get to throw a cleaver every ~4.5 seconds if you don't miss.[/QUOTE] id make the recharge faster and lower the base damage maybe compare it to something like the church guardian's shiv in borderlands, where successive hits give you a huge recharge boost and you can use it as a short-term burst damage mechanic, but the actual damage per guillotine isnt the 90-something it is now

We've been expecting it to release since Nov. 2016, since they beefed Halloween to work on it. There is no release date. This is what we expect valve having a sense of priority or deadlines.
I don't know why I haven't noticed this in the span since Stopwatch mode was removed, but with the mode gone, there isn't a guaranteed winner anymore on PL & A/D Maps.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Introduction screen to Competitive mentioned "Seasons" once, right? Might be another thing coming to Comp that we dont fully know about.
If they did mention seasons, then they are going the right way. Competitive is (like many others have stated before) just a 6v6 with no random crits and levels. Nothing else! And it can be really fun at times, which already shows potential. Seasons, Elo / better matchmaking system, rewards, seasons, having to be more experience before you can play, placement matches, etc. -edit typo-

And I've also been thinking about some melee changes regarding Pyro, namely the Homewrecker and the Powerjack. If I were to balance these weapons as the game was right now, then I'd say this might be a solution: 1. Give the Homewrecker the ability to help constructing the Engineer's buildings faster by hitting them, although of course not at wrench speeds. And (maybe) lose the ability to one-shot sappers and replacing it with a two-shot thus making it less of a pain for the Spy, but still as helpful / if not more helpful for the Engineer. This would of course not be the way it'll appear in game, as it might require some other changes (optional: bigger damage penalty, 3 hits for a sapper, etc). 2. Add a passive attribute for the Powerjack, such as a max. health reduction. I have no idea what would be suitable, maybe 10? Or 15? Or maybe even a slight passive explosive vulnerability, punishing the Pyro for not reflecting those explosives and implying skilful usage (If you want to go fast -> be better at Pyro). Which follows the same formula for Soldier and Demo (be it in a slightly different way). I haven't got any ideas yet for the Neon Annihilator and the Backscratcher, I'm really interested to see what you guys think of that. For the Axtinguisher I think it'll be best to have a holster penalty like many people said before me. i know that i'm posting this literally two days before the Pyro update m i g h t come out, but I only thought of it like 3 hours ago.

I would like to see my gameplay records instead. Talking about loading screens, I would like them to add photos on the loading screen for Gun Mettle and post-GM new maps, as these ones lack them. And I just sent that Prinny Hat and Prinny Pouch are paintable, but the paint is not visible on the cosmetics to EricS. Sometimes I use GitHub, sometimes, I email the TF Team for bugs.
Speaking of Duels do you guys think it'd be good if you could adjust the duel match you're about to use to set it to a certain amount of kills needed to win so it doesn't last until a round ends? Or what would you do to make it better?

The upcoming update probably completely changes the way comp works (ideally) so they've just been waiting until then to do a new "season" Or they're just bad at doing this shit
maybe they don't know 2011 has ended and that's why we've had so few updates they think they're done for the year ten times over
