my favorite memory is when community weapons first came out and they had a hidden attribute of 10% more damage and no one would fucking believe me for years that it was the case it lasted like a day with the first community minigun but still a legitimate fond answer is getting my soldier medal from the site itself. I can still remember how the page looked when confirming your login [wasnt the same steamworks plug we all know today!] and apparently there's no documentation of that part itself; wish I was as screenshot savvy as I am today. that was also back when trading wasn't a thing, and items for classes were remarkably rare, so even the little medal on the soldier's chest was enough to stand out. that was a cool reason to get death threats

We have less than 100 Posts in this thread left. I'd like to ask the pal that'll open the next thread to: A. Keep the first title, secondary title can be edited for whatever sassy shit you got. Update Speculation Station has a good ring to it. B. Keep the MUS archive, as this thread line is basically MUS 2.0 C. Keep the Discord Link. That's all, a recap of recent happenings as always would be great, toh.
My fondest memories... 1. My laptop shitting the bed so badly that I couldn't play TF2 anymore even with minimum settings. This was also around the time that I got so heavily invested in GG2 that I became part of the development team and spearheaded 2 years worth of updates during my latter years of highschool. 2. There were a few times where Robin Walker contacted me without me having messaged him first. Perhaps sometime I'll divulge into what exactly those were about, maybe that'll be soon™ 3. I've lost count of the number of friends I've made over the past 10 years. It's taken a downturn since my regular servers have shut down and quickplay/casual feels really sterile in comparison. But those moments still exist, just not as frequently anymore since regular servers take longer to get off the ground than before.

My favorite memory in TF2 was when L&W came out, and everyone was doing the conga and all the other new taunts, it was a really fun time. A close second was people congaing to "Moskau" micspam waiting for Gun Mettle to drop.
I guess my best memory was me being with drunken f00l as he gave away golden wrench times and I nearly got myself vac'd had I succeeded :v:

Favourite memory? Well, all the Ballon Race/Zombie Fortress matches I played in 2009/10. That was basically how I trained my aim. And the first update I ever witnessed, Sniper vs Spy.
I know there's a chance I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but I'm really hyped for tonight...
As someone said earlier, the TF Team haven't dismissed the 9/6 claim. If it was nothing they would have posted about it days ago. Driller also said they were finishing up the update about 3 weeks ago. There's a very high chance that it's today.
My fondest memory was every single night seeing something new and exciting at AxlsTF2 server. (RIP)
I'm really sad that Valve made it so servers with custom maps wouldn't get quickplay people. Axl's was my favorite because of all of the custom maps. Like, all they needed to do was add a tickbox "Allow for custom maps." It's not like there aren't servers out there with vanilla maps and shitloads of plugins.

I'm just hesitant to believe valve would ever list a date and actually commit to it. Every single update that we had a near definitive release time, it always ended up postponed a week for bugfixing. Other than MyM...
My favourite memory has to be when I played the xbox 360 version. I've been playing TF2 for 8 years now and the first 4 and a half years were spent on the xbox version. Just playing vanilla only with a select few maps probably sounds boring to some people but for me it was the best version of TF2 you could ever play. They even had the option to remove random crits and damage spread if you host a server, something that valve should disable in their casual servers. Coming to PC version felt like an entirely different game, removing the frame cap, adding a plethora of new maps, weapons and hats. It took me a while to get used to it and eventually I enjoyed PC even more than xbox, but it still holds a place in my heart. If anyone hasn't tried it and has the opportunity to do so I highly recommend it.
I hope for the sake of others that there is at least a blog post today. With the TFTeam not dismissing the Dane "leak" the potential for a severe hype crash and exhaustion is high. The team isn't known for great communication but this is exactly the kind of scenario where they need to be up front and clear if the info is false. Having said, if the blog post happens today, awesome.
As much as I think today is a likely candidate for a blog post, I don't think that Valve would be very likely to explicitly dismiss it even if it weren't true. Seems like the sort of thing valve wouldn't communicate on tbh.

When the entire community gets hyped about something that the TF Team is aware isn't something important, they usually speak out and tell us it's nothing. Example: SteamDB build. We got hyped, they instantly told us it's nothing. So far, however, we have heard nothing. And it's not like Ponyman couldve missed it, the last few frontpages were full of it.
I'm betting on a Day 1 page if anything Surely they wouldn't release a big update without teasing it first
My fondest memory of TF2 is honestly meeting the TF team. Or perhaps my Pyro poster signed by Gabe Newell. Alternatively, it's when I realized that scrap.tf had overtaken TF2WH. That was a nice day.

No pyro airblast, everyone playing with controller, engie can't upgrade buildings...and while people who never played it seem to always make jokes about how it must have no players, it always seemed to have quite a few people playing whenever I was on - problem is that it only shows non-full servers so you could never get an idea of how many people were playing on full servers. Sold the xbox a couple years back so no idea what it's like now though.
Example: SteamDB build. We got hyped, they instantly told us it's nothing.
If I'm remembering correctly they didn't come out and say that on their own. Someone had to E-mail them asking for clarification and then they shot it down.

If the blog post doesn't happen today: -Dane will get fucking eviscerated by all sides for A. hyping everyone up and B. being told off for posting the Valve GoT theory from the last page -Exor will get another weeks worth of anti-volvo wank fuel -wickedplayer will probably go on """strike""" again -the thread ends and I finally get my chance to make the right op and set us back on course -that one dude who made that untypable map will post some more teaser stuff but refuse to tell anything substantial than just 'be patient guys!' -more shitposts about whiteboards
This is how bad the hacker problem is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQN2M3ngZjc
Maybe we'll get another MMPH! blogpost.
You guys may remember- for the past few months through MUS and otherwise, I've been telling people not to get hyped, to stop watching the thread, that the update will come when it comes...it's been a while since I've had the hype train in me, but as of this morning it's back. Something is happening today, that much isn't up for debate- whether that something is something we'll be able to witness or just an internal Valve thing, however, still isn't completely certain. But I'm pretty sure at this point that maps have been selected. It's been nearly a year since submissions for Jungle maps and other items started- if the TF Team maintained any kind of short list over that period of time, I'm sure they've highlighted the best and brightest by now. They even told people to finish up their submissions a few months ago! Today just feels like the perfect day for us to finally get the update we've waited for so long, you know?
What time of day would a blog post be?
-the thread ends and I finally get my chance to make the right op and set us back on course
My op is the best, Im gonna crucify you if you name it "Di-speculation"

I still have the orange box game itself and I could probably pick up a second hand xbox nowadays for 40-60 dollars. Only reason I won't buy another xbox is because I don't want to pay for access online. I forgot about the engi glitches! There are quite a few on dustbowl that potentially make defence immortal, assuming the engineer can set up in time.
For the first time since 2016 I do think it's today, also:
If the blog post doesn't happen today: [...] -the thread ends and I finally get my chance to make the right op and set us back on course [...]
That will happen either way, the time continuum isn't gonna freeze if pyro update blog post/update isn't posted today :v:
