PATCH. the last patch just added fucking medals. is it so hard to just add shit and appease us? just fucking do something. i've lost all respect for the TF team, all patience I had for them, and all my passion i had for this game. good luck to you guys, but I can't do it anymore. i just can't.[/QUOTE]

I feel like now might be appropriate to mention the Heavy Lifter I designed ages ago. Most everyone seems to love it.
It is a minigun that, instead of doing damage, it allows you to fly. The fun part is that landing on someone instantly kills then with a satisfying "thud".

I actually do think non weapon minigun replacement to support the fat scout playstyle is a strong possibility for the heavy update but I don't think the heavy being able to fly around the map is a good idea.
Hello, I've been away for a long time. Basically started playing Warframe after the MyM dropped.
I really want this update to be great, I want to get back in the game. We haven't had a community update since Invasion, right? Is it because of the payment stuff that was talked about during Invasion?
Theoretically, if jill's team wins and we get world free of random crits - stock melee will become unviable as hell for everyone except engineer and spy. I'm curious to see what they will do with it (if something). Who knows, maybe they will remove stock tetriaries altogether replacing them with melee button.

Melee button works when melee is instantaneous. TF2 is built around weapon swap delay and melee delay.
Removing both would be kinda nuts on Spy and Engineer at the very least, axtinguisher would get all fucky again etc.

I meant as a weapon. Spy and engie use it as tool, sort of, so their melee are in class of their own, and unlocks will still be tetriary weapons as they still boast unique mechanics. But stock melee for other seven classes is just self defence pepper gun with unlimited ammo. Might as well make that into game functionality rather than being a weapon.
Though you are right as to it's too much tied to delays. Then again, it might need complete overhaul in given scenario.
One thing i think Valve should consider is the creation/hosting of another Hat Describing Contest. Item descriptions haven't been in the game too much since 2014. Item descriptions added a lot of character into the game, and personally, i miss them dearly. They probably could even throw in prizes for the winners.

My idea for the heavy update is a fat scout mini gun replacement. It could be something like:
Increased move speed (maybe bring heavy up to around 88-90% move speed like the Eviction Notice)
Health regen similar to the conch (Maybe a max of +5 per second due to Heavy's high health pool)
A small boost in Heavy jump height (10-20%)
I know it seems like a lot of upsides but if you're taking away the minigun to support the fat heavy playstyle you gotta give the Heavy a few nice buffs.

There was an exploit in source 2013 that allowed remote code execution I believe through custom files, that affected any game running on source sdk and TF2, Valve disabled sprays while patching it and never bothered to re enable them again
I remember a month and a half ago when i promised myself I wouldn't play tf2 until the update dropped, and now i'm starting to really feel the pain of it all

A few weeks back I though id play all the maps (Uncle Dane Story Mode) and then the pyro update is out for sure.

The Intensifier is a lot more realistic for more reasons than one, albeit it leans a bit on the conservative side.
The pyro update has gone from unreasonably late, to approaching vaporware levels of nonexistent.
If valve takes over a year to restore basic functionality they removed during a botched update and crapped the year's major updates to do so, it's time to hand over development to another party.

There's a difference between having a more efficient team doing the existing work, and gimmick promotional collaboration on one off failures like pass time.
The sad part is that PASS Time can be a ton of fun when most everyone involved is into it. It's basically Bombing Run from Unreal Tournament 2004, which was a lot of fun itself. Part of me wants to see classic BR maps get "TF2-ified."

Despite the fact that Pass Time didn't hit it off with a lot of players I would like to see Escalation Studios continue to collaborate with the TF2 team. They did quality work with the mode. They did a lot of balancing and made 3 maps but in my eyes (and probably a lot of people's eyes) it was another CTF style game mode in a game that doesn't work super well with CTF style game modes and has too many of them already.
I would love to see Valve give them the reigns for a new MVM update.
I'm super glad Valve is in charge of TF2 and can't think of any other company that could keep it alive to this day as well as they did.
I'm amazed they haven't put a backpack icon in the matchmaker so you can craft stuff and choose your loadouts while waiting to find a server. If you enter open_charinfo into the console the backpack opens fine, so surely there's no reason why it shouldn't be there. It'd be more engaging than clicking the coin, at least.

i tried looking for them but all i found was shit like "medic vs engineer"
Can anyone confirm that both the casual rank display + competitive rank displays are still broken?
Because if yes, that's one rather big and one rather minor bug that's been there for 2 weeks now, ongoing. Slowly starting to believe that they intended to release the Update earlier but something is clogging up development process preventing it from launching, which is why we havent seen tiny patches in the last month or so.
Even though today is still a possible date, given what Crash said its highly unlikely, so I'm moving my hopes to next week.
Might see an Update today adding medals, though. Maybe.

Red Sun Over Paradise has Server(s ?) running that. Also have a "Gamemode Madness" Server which switches between Gamemodes, eventually ending up at Zombie Fortress.
I still want a riot shield heavy primary that increases tanking ability/survivability/possibly mobility but makes him rely on secondaries and melee for direct damage.

My casual rank no longer gets its display reset every time I reboot my computer. It did do that for many weeks, but it seems to be fixed now, at least for me.
