Look at dota and tf2 update passes, glove skins, paid sprays...And tf2 has the least revenue out of the 3 games by far. So to me that means they have to maximize revenue even more to justify the game still being updated today to the higher ups at Valve. Im repeating myself and not giving other points, but i still think thats why they dont give ref any other uses. They dont want to give free weapon drops more value or ref more uses, they want people to buy more keys, buy more stuff on the mann co store, and buy campaign passes.

I never caught the stream (as it would only be up for a little while, and he never announces when he goes up) but he did request what his followers would like to see. Some suggested playing HL2 mods and giving feedback to what he experiences. Coincidence? :P

I took a 2 hour nap and had a god damn TF2 dream aswell. Dreamt that we got a blog post that explained why this update took so long, blog post ended with a weapon tease and them stating that they are eyeing up next week and that they have sent the mappers that got the maps emails - "If you are a mapper, I'd check my email" - and basically said that it now just depends on how fast they get the final compiles of the maps. It's a sign I wonder how long it'll take for our dreams to turn into nightmares.

if i remember correctly, that's basically what expiration date was supposed to be (the second episode of an adult swim series, with the first episode just being all the meet the team shorts), but they realized they couldn't make episodes fast enough to meet the demands of a TV series so expiration date just got released as a standalone thing instead looking back, though, i can't find the source for that, so take it with a grain of salt i suppose

So back in the day it used to be Degreaser/Flare Gun/Axstinguisher but since that combo was gutted what became the standard Pyro loadout. Is it just Flamethrower/Whatever/Powerjack?

Is it just Flamethrower/Whatever/Powerjack?[/QUOTE] There are more types of pyro now. Degreaser, Reserve Shooter... Scorch, Homewrecker... Phlog, Scorch... Backburner, Detonator... Stock, Shotty... Personally I use Stock for the afterburn, then follow up with 2 or 3 shotgun blasts. Fire axe for when I can puff them into a corner for that sweet 65 damage swing with really high crit chance.

Is it just Flamethrower/Whatever/Powerjack?[/QUOTE] The degreaser nerfs weren't enough to knock it down from the title of Best Flamethrower, its switch speed bonuses are still just about the only thing keeping pyro viable in serious situations. Also the reduced switch speed nerf was an indirect nerf to the flare gun, causing more pyros to run stock shotgun nowadays as having a larger clip and using hitscan is much more reliable.

I do have ~700 hours being a mumbling abomination. Since Valve fucked up the Degreaser, I hardly use it anymore. The current iteration just makes me sad. My loadouts are basically as follows: Stock/Scorch Shot/Powerjack: General purpose send-projectiles-back/extinguish-teammates/spycheck/set-things-on-fire loadout. I use this on CTF, Payload and capture points (on the rare occasion I ever play Pyro on CP, which is not often.) Sometimes I swap out the Scorch Shot for a Shotgun when I want actually kill things (like other Pyros.) Recently I dropped my in-game mouse sensitivity quite a bit and I've found I'm a much better "chubby scout" now. Backburner/Scorch Shot/Powerjack: There is a Deadringer Spy on the other team and I HATE HIM. The BB's crits, the PJ's movement speed and the Scorch Shot's spammbility allow me to counteract one (1) "lol not dead yet" DR spy. No, I'm not bitter. Actually, I totally am. Fuck the DR. Backburner/Detonator/Backscratcher: Sneaky Beaky flanking pyro. Like Sketchek but without all the mad skills and chiptune music. I actually don't use this loadout often, but it is a blast. The Detonator allows me to get into all sorts of places I shouldn't be. The Backscratcher lets me heal up on even small health packs. Random crits with the garden rake are absolutely brutal. If there's a pyro (or Cow Mangler soldier) on the enemy team who is being a real pain in the ass, I'll use the Manmelter with the Backburner. The MM's alt fire is wonderfully spammable, meaning I can extinguish faster than they can set ablaze. The crits are just a bonus. I do have a Phlog, but I can barely bring myself to use it. With a medic up my ass, it can get pretty disgusting but at that point I might as well just play Heavy. The loadout I [I]used[/I] to live by was: Degreaser/Flare Gun/Power Jack. Set everyone on fire and smack them with a crit. I've all but retired my flare gun.
