I get the feeling it is not this week, but it is either one of the 2 weeks following.
However, every single time I make a guess, I am wrong. I may have doomed us all.
You really think the TF Team will pass up the Summer Break time frame for this update?

That'll be the crime against us!

Well in the US typically summer break ends in mid to late August not early August so it could still hit US summer breakers if it launched in the next few weeks.

Ok, I also just got one of those "Update" dreams, but it was just a Blog post saying that the update will ship soon. I should stop reading GCaUSS
Surprising, how Garry's Mod, game, where multiplayer isn't even main focus, nails community server browser much better than highly moddable multiplayer only giants such as CSGO or TF2, developed by multibillion worldwide acknowledged company. I wish they did something about it, and not some stinking matchmaking, but community rating system, sorting by plugins installed, gameplay types, better tag filter system et cetera. Community servers have much more variability to them then official gamemodes and we need ability to easily search through that motely mess.
Also if it doesn't come out before i reach casual level 150 i'm gonna be so mad

It's strange how after a long time of silence we suddenly get a burst of news page reports.
While I continue to believe toweek is the week atleast it shows they aren't in super crunch mode anymore that they cant make news pages, I guess.
Also I haven't seen people talking about the catbots lately, have they been dealt with?

Nope, seen some hour ago playing on harvest.
I don't give a single if they crunch mode or crack mode, update is long overdue. I'm tired of reading into every movement
Was playing PL_Badwater on an Australian server an hour ago and there was occasionally a spectator message. Something like "cat bot 2: this is an automated message". Shortly followed by "cat bot 2 joined team RED", then immediately "cat bot 2 disconnected: removed by system".
Since it hasn't been posted yet, a friendly reminder that starting this Friday and running through the weekend, there will also be a charity drive for Redkite, as a part of the TF2Maps 2017 Summer Jam. Somehow i see in that medal face from joan cornella comic and expect that to something completely different in another style option.
That being said, i don't think it's this week, but the next one at the earliest when the update arrives.

ics crushing our hopes and dreams again.
There's always a chance for an update this week...to add medals to the game.

Someone asked if they could donate with items/codes, but staff said donations have to be credit, debit, or paypal.
Toth had items donations thanks to Geel. It would have been only cash otherwise.
A casual game doesn't need to be dumbed down or so easy that it lacks skill depth in order to pander to new/bad players. Instead, it needs to be understandable and balanced for play at a basic level, as well as having a clear skill progression that allows for enjoyment at all levels.
This is where a lot of games fail- they do this by "building competitive from the ground up" while unwittingly creating an environment where the game's fun is only had after reaching the top percent of the skill range to the point where youre slaughtering new players that aren't having any fun dying to you, just like you weren't.
Allowing the high end players to completely control the game's fun as a hoarded resource is not good. While this looks exactly like what you're supposed to do on paper, it doesn't actually work out that well in practice.
Take TF2 for instance. A pair of premiership-level players will be able to handily demolish casual matches, but at the same time still are able to be defeated by teamwork, counterpicks, etc. And also defeat said things too- this back and forth is limited only by the imagination and resourcefulness of the users, which is a wonderful thing.
The game isn't dumbed down any, as you still have all the tools and abilities those premiership players do; you just have to use them.
this also holds true for literally any street fighter, KoF, Guilty Gear, and Tekken game, because the core mechanics are fun and easy to understand even for new players, even though GG, KoF, and some of the SF/Tekken games are tremendously high-skill-cap
there is no reason to reduce skill cap to appeal to casuals. just make the introduction simple and give them incentive to learn if they actually stick with the game.
Losing over and over again because I havent memorized the arbitrary combination of buttons used to do more powerful attacks (talking about streetfighter-esque games) is annoying. Losing over and over again because opponents decided to get good at objectively better characters (talking about smash, im a bowser main in 4) is annoying. I'm glad TF2 actually makes attempts at balance.

This is just something i've been saying for weeks. I said few weeks ago that this or next week it's gonna realease at the earliest but since we are already on tuesday, it's not gonna be this week.
I sigh when some people talk about tf3, because tf3 would make no sense for many different reasons (one is the economy).
But imagine, not a tf3, but new games in the tf2 universe, using source 2. A single player coop team fortress game? Id dream of a DoubleFine style adventure game, but set in the tf2 universe, with its hilarious writing. Or just the same universe, but completely different genres of games.
I sigh when some people talk about tf3, because tf3 would make no sense for many different reasons (one is the economy).
Who gives a shit about the economy? If the economy is in the way of making a objectively better game, then kill the economy.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that the economy is important to a large amount of people, but even MMOs don't get attached this much. There are still people playing EQ1 and EQ2, very few people lament FFXIV 1.0 over FFXIV ARR.
Talking about TF3, years ago I was thinking about the next game of the TF and CS saga and the first thing that came to my mind was "what are they going to do with the skins and the hats?"
So? are they just going to port EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. to the new games? or leave them behind?

If it was a Team Fortress 3, I'd hope that it would be a set of entirely new characters, setting, possibly even tone change.
If it was a TF2:GO then I'd guess some hats may be grandfathered in but otherwise mostly a giant reset.
I had a dream about a Halloween update. It was koth_badlands_event, and the boss was zombie versions of the Team Fortress Classic classes based on the comic. And for some reason, they introduced Laser Sentries in that update. Now, I doubt we would ever get Laser Sentries, but the idea of having fighting the TFC Classes would be amazing. That is, if we even get Scream Fortress 2017.
damn dude, it's august already
Can someone give me a genuine reason why keys being worth so much refined is a bad thing? I'm serious, so many people complain about it but please explain to me in detail why it's a bad thing.
Since more refined is getting pumped into this game every day then it's natural that people want more refined for their keys. The only downside to keys being worth this much refined is it being difficult to trade up from nothing. Well, okay? I'm sorry it's hard to grind all your weapons into a key nowadays.
When keys were 2.33 refined you were able to buy a hat or maybe two hats with that. Now you can get an entire class loadout with a key and still have some leftover. If anything it's a good thing keys aren't worth so little anymore, because keys have actual monetary value. You wouldn't want something that could actually be sold up $2 only sell for less than 3 refined.
Keys being worth this much refined isn't that bad, people need to stop seeing a big price number and assuming it's a bad thing.
Edit: I don't want to make it seem like that I love the idea of keys being worth this much. I'm not even sure if there's a sweetspot for how much keys should be worth. I'm just saying there's upsides and downsides to everything. It's not really a bad thing

Dunno I dont even manage to get money irl let alone a virtual economy about hats on a shooter.
But I remember back in the day when keys were like 5 refs each and those were the glory days, so...

Not sure what you're trying to say here. Yeah, there are upsides to keys being worth so little.
