They didnt bother to add a MannPower section to their Update page so they got the Mannpower update out of the way.

I am completely fucking speechless at this amazingly spontaneous yet shamefully typical display of valve's ineptitude and lack of self awareness.
Even though this has quite literally been a hilarious turn of events, there is nothing to prevent the Update from dropping next week, there is no need to jump on the "December" train because of a small baby patch.

I'm just glad the people who think mannpower is a good idea don't work on the main game.
I feel like the Mannpower stuff was added so the community wouldn't rage at an update consisting of nothing but medals. Ironically, I think there would have been less backlash if it had just been the medals.

I believe it only applies to mannpower, now the X10 loadout of haste + Jag + rescue ranger is double as effective

They may have intended to do that, but by doing so they created another batch of bugs. Such is irony.
Anyone else remember when Valve put Mannpower at the start of the quickplay list so for about 2 weeks that was the only gamemode that was populated? Someone at Valve has a raging boner for Mannpower and they just won't let it die.

In all honesty, that's probably not far from the truth. Valve likes to put their own little pet projects/interests over necessities and the desires of consumers. Gabe Newell prefers to think otherwise, but I can't tell if he's delusional or disingenuous.
If they have enough time to work on mannpower, surely they're close to, if not already finished with the pyro update. how likely is an official launch/blog for tomorrow?

Having a post tomorrow is very unlikely. The update will inevitably be multi-day (maybe two or three days long), so if Day One were to happen tomorrow, that means the update would come Friday/Saturday, and Valve almost never ships updates on weekends.
