Worth noting that you guys should prepare yourself for it NOT coming out next week. Next week from the 7th to the 12th is The International Main Event, and, ever since TI2 back in 2012, there has never been a single tf2 update or even a patch released during the Main Event of The International. Ever. Not once.
Unless it launches today or tomorrow, I'd hold my breath until next next week, not the 7th through the 11th. They've had updates launch the day before, and the day immediately after, but never during. So uh, spread that word I suppose, if anything launches next week I'll be fucking blown away by it, because it'd be completely unprecedented.
I agree with your point, but we reached the point were everything is possible.

I think that's more of a coincidence than a "rule" - didn't CS:GO have some updates during Internationals?
I'd personally be more blown away if the Update launches today/tomorrow rather than next week.
Either way, we might actually get an Update today. 99% not the Jungle one, but just a quick hotfix, unless they did fix the Mannpower Regeneration/static jumping thing crash.
Asteroid on hold while we work on bigger priorities, like the far worse gamemode Mannpower.
valve isnt developing mannpower or pass time. those are headed by a third party.
I bet I can get to level 100 in casual before the update comes out. I'm already at level 25. Im going to attempt it
valve isnt developing mannpower or pass time. those are headed by a third party.
Passtime is outsourced to Escalation and Bad Robot, but Mannpower was all Valve.
It was a tongue in cheek comment anyway, it's not like the artpass people who would be working on asteroid are likely the same game design/coding people who would be working on these mannpower tweaks.
I wonder if there is a version of degrout keep which you can use primaries and secondaries,im interested to see how it would play.

I'm enjoying my valve server experience
Well, CSGO did have updates during The International, so why wouldn't TF2? Plus I don't get it how would Dota International somehow have an influence on when TF2 update hits, lol.
from what I heard, cat bots don't attack couching heavies who hold the sandvich
it's stupid, I know, but maybe you could get an edge against them with it

fortunately there's 12 other opponents that can kill the ducking heavy
Listened to TF2 soundtrack today... oh how i want for this update to be more stylistically focused on action movies of 70's and other disco, than on aliens, wizards, robots, saxton hale, mrs pauling, or popular stuff akin. That would be a dream come true
If you're attacking, Sticky Jumper, Pain train, game is over.
Point three is locked anyway, and you could set up quite a defence on first two points. But the map isn't really designed for that, and it will be rather boring with full weapon set avilable
quick poll if you dont mind:
more news today = optimistic
tomorrow = funny
next week = agree
next next week = dumb
any time after the 18th = late
Sorry, but I don't think the phrasing used by Dave indicates anything in particular. He said "finishing," not "finishing up;" that can mean any number of things, and certainly provides nothing even vaguely concrete over their progress.

The catbots and hosts have now been banned.
That degenerate wretch Nullified has also been banned too, and it didn't take 3 years either. Good work valve.
They are banned? For real? and what about the "god between men" that is its creator? its the bastard also banned?
Doesn't mean anything, he'll just come back. Just like every other hacker.
Hackers need to be permanently VAC banned, game banned, Hardware banned and IP banned.
Edit: Also they should take back the user's items like they did in the past.

They don't do that anymore? I thought they made it so you couldn't trade them after being banned (which is essentially the same thing)
Nullifiedcat says that valve manually banned him but the cheat is still not detectable by vac. Is being desilusional again or is the thing still undetectable?
It wasnt just catbots and their creators that were banned
http://steamcommunity.com/id/urallez3/
I've encountered this fucker multiple times in matchmaking, but he was just using alts. This is his main account, he never cheated on it. So valve is not only banning cheaters alts, but they are banning the main accounts, regardless if they cheated or not

this maybe the best thing i've read today. Valve baning mains is crucial, even if it was manual.... I can feel their hats shaking in fear

They should take hacker's items like cops take money from drug cartels.
They should take hacker's items like cops take money from drug cartels.
What would valve need to do with their items anyway?
Just let them keep their junk, not like it has any worth after theyve been vac'd

Agreed, "We're actively trying to finish and ship the update" is super vague. You could be less than half way done working on the update and this statement would be accurate.

I imagine it's something like a big weird bug and they're scrambling around trying to fix it. Even if it's literally the last thing they have to do, they don't know for sure how long it'd take.
Yay for the VAC bans. These assholes should calm down for a day or two, and maybe some even might stop hacking.
What if they're trying to combine the Pyro Update with the Steam Universal UI update and that's what could hold off the update? It kind of makes sense. Also, it's really relieving to have some substantial information that could pertain to next week being the week.
STUPID SPECULATION
Did you guys notice how ics and Crash didn't give the email and became pretty quiet? What if they got some super secret information and that's why ics is talking about the release window in reddit and Facepunch? HYYYPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

What email?
What email?
Im guessing he meant that crash did say something about valve emailing map makers about the maps being selected.
The hackers will be back, but for now, just enjoy peace within the official servers, it wont last forever
