i'd rather have afterburn deal damage proportional to each class's max hp but that would be yet another nerf to heavies.
again, afterburn is not the issue here.
Make afterburn reduce target's max hp, as long as it isn't hit by the flamer.Max hp is regained through contact with healing sources. That way pyro won't get cheap kills and his target(s) will remain in a fragile state for anybody else to pick on.
How is this functionally different from regular damage?
It caps at 5 hp.
So what? You can do the same with regular damage, afterburn stops at 5hp. You get functionally the exact same stat.
Possible upcoming, exploitable bug? If I eat the dalokhas bar and then pull out EN or GRU with new pyro update stats, health will regent to 350 instead of 300
Dalokohs counts as overheal,no?
No, it temporarily increases max health to 350. [editline]5th August 2017[/editline] https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/teamfortress/images/e/ea/Dalokohs_Bar_self-made_info_TF2.png/revision/latest?cb=20130715042223
Possible upcoming, exploitable bug?
Pyro shouldn't even be able to light you on fire from across the map as far as I'm concerned. I'd like to see a rework along the lines of the further away you are from the Pyro, the less afterburn damage you sustain.
Pyro's flares help negate their main downside of range, I can't see much reason to nerf that.
Unless you happen to be right in front of pyro and get away, you will burn to death but if you just caught a little of that, you propably wont die as long as there is a medic on team or dispenser near or you know the map and healthkit locations. Pyros afterburn was either damage decreased or burn time decreased long ago. I think the flamethrower itself is fine in the right hands.
I want the update to come out so that all crutches will be removed.

What are the thoughts on increasing self-blast damage of the soldier? Rocket Jump dmg would stay the same, but if you blast a scout that's right up your face, you'd take a bit more damage. I really feel like Soldier's need a bigger reason to, well, switch weapons instead of just holding onto the Rocket Launcher the entire time. Of course to compensate for that something also needs to be done about Scout, since nerfing Soldier would just make Scout even stronger. However at this point I'm convinced Robin Walker has installed several cameras in the office of the TF Team and will send assassins after them if they dare to touch Soldier.

He's fine as he is.
I understand that Valve is taking their sweet time so this update is as perfect as possible, but it gets to a point where you've taken so long that what you have to present should be the highest of quality. If not then the community is even more upset.
Here's a really fucked up idea: scout takes 10% more damage after double jumping until he lands. Honestly something like this could have been interesting for the new atomizer, boost it to 25% so pills and whatnot can be a ohko if you aren't careful.
Honstly, I would like to see afterburn doing 60 dmg over 5s instead of 10s

PUBG surpassed CSGO (however briefly) and it now has crates and keys. How long until Valve buys the game outright? If they were to do so, Dota2 would still be the number one child, but CSGO drops down a notch and TF2 now gets to compete with Ricochet and Day of Defeat for attention. PUBG items become a commodity on TF2 trade servers (due to its nature, TF2 has had the dubious distinction of being the conduit for trading items from other Valve games for years now.) In the grim, dark future of TF2 there is only ...other Valve products. :dead:
Absolutely no chance of Valve buying PUBG from Bluehole/Buying Bluehole outright. There's a more-than-0% chance that if they ever do make another multiplayer IP it could have Battle Royale elements, I would say though. But of course that's pure speculation.
THIS JUST IN: In other TF2 news, toxic memelord and former YouTuber Zenomite has quit the game for good; citing reasons like "nothing ever changes" and "valve is terrible" amongst other things on Reddit. Although not a publicity stunt he claims, this comes as the game's biggest revamp update in years is around the corner, with valve communication at a record high (via VNN). More at 11, back to Larry with the weather.
I'm imagining the next battle royale game from valve now: DarkRP: the Game
you could just fix duckjumping reducing self-damage against a pointblank enemy for starters
It's not exclusive to duckjumping, you just have to be in the air at the point of time when you take damage. What's bizarre to me is the Gunboats are totally different from how the Soldier's natural blast resistance is handled. The Gunboats apply their damage reduction at all times except if you damage an enemy with the same rocket.

I don't understand why you would have a sponsor on a personal video at all. I also think a lot of content creators would find a lot of fortune in learning how to diversify their content. A lot of people burn out on TF2 because they force themselves to only play it, and then they bottle up their indifference to the game to the point they have to announce they outright quit. This wouldn't be necessary if they diversified their content regardless of views, and if a day came they wanted to stop tf2 they could afford to stop posting it without rocking the boat. Seeing people quit frequently appears as an emotional outlash from not knowing how to handle a change of taste. But to each their own.
Well, This is kind of funny. TF2's original shading was broken ON LAUNCH. and never fixed EVER This is due to the merge to orangebox code. Half-life 2, Episode 1 added this effect called "Half-lambert" This was used to make the gradient from light to dark much smoother. [t]https://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/images/thumb/1/1d/Alyx_lambert_half_lambert.jpg/200px-Alyx_lambert_half_lambert.jpg[/t] It was normally a command that could be turned on or off, however, the merge to orangebox code broke it probably, and $phong enables the effect by default (point specular) Thus, the tf2 playermodels, which had this effect turned off with $halflambert 0, broke. The result is the much smoother shading as seen here [t]http://i.imgur.com/WdzIiuc.png[/t] Compared to the original shading seen here [t]http://i.imgur.com/vNQfauA.png[/t] Thanks valve

A little off topic, but I received this from valve a few months back and was wondering if it's actually sold anywhere? It's a lenticular(?) postcard edit: spent ages trying to get the picture to not take up the entire damn screen, this'll have to do
