No, it temporarily increases max health to 350. [editline]5th August 2017[/editline] https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/teamfortress/images/e/ea/Dalokohs_Bar_self-made_info_TF2.png/revision/latest?cb=20130715042223
It raises max HP to 350, heals 100HP and can overheal up to 400. My quick two cents on Zeno's thing. His reasons are valid and those who can't see them are somehow blind. If he believes he has to completely disengage from the game and the community, he alone knows what's best for him. Lets just wish him a successful future as a variety YouTuber or whatever else he decides to do instead of holding year long grudges.
Made a fixed up lightwarps pack to basically imitate the original look if anyone wants it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/eD5WGKy.png[/t] http://www.mediafire.com/file/92oz24rwvh3f72u/oldlightwarp.vpk
Well, This is kind of funny. TF2's original shading was broken ON LAUNCH. and never fixed EVER This is due to the merge to orangebox code. Half-life 2, Episode 1 added this effect called "Half-lambert" This was used to make the gradient from light to dark much smoother. [t]https://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/images/thumb/1/1d/Alyx_lambert_half_lambert.jpg/200px-Alyx_lambert_half_lambert.jpg[/t] It was normally a command that could be turned on or off, however, the merge to orangebox code broke it probably, and $phong enables the effect by default (point specular) Thus, the tf2 playermodels, which had this effect turned off with $halflambert 0, broke. The result is the much smoother shading as seen here [t]http://i.imgur.com/WdzIiuc.png[/t] Compared to the original shading seen here [t]http://i.imgur.com/vNQfauA.png[/t] Thanks valve
"TF2 updates ruined the aesthetic" [editline]5th August 2017[/editline] I just wish i could disable the rimlighting in TF2, it's actually the ugliest part of the game imo
Stopping TF2 videos because there's a content drought and you've made them about everything in the game already (which he hasn't), or taking an indefinite break because you know there's a pre-update drought going on and playing whatever you want because you're a free man (which he didn't) is something perfectly understandable and something a lot of players themselves do. After all, not everyone has the skill or mentality to try new things and master the classes they haven't gotten down yet, something that would take years in itsself. What he did was none of this. After seeing a single update to mannpower (see: reddit) that came with bugs after all this time, zeno decided to let all of his pent up frustrations out and KWIT 5EVER FOR GUD, swearing off the game he repeatedly said he still loves right as it's about to get a massive update, instead of say, doing whatever he wants and getting back to TF2 when there's something to created content or talk about. According to him valve, is apparently going to completely ruin the pyro update as evidenced by the most recent patch, so there's nothing to come back to anyway, with zero possibility of the game being better. That's why reddit's assblasting this as a publicity stunt. Because it was an unnecessary middle finger to the game that could have been avoided.
if you're done with the game, you just leave in silence. because nobody gives a shit.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/eD5WGKy.png[/t] http://www.mediafire.com/file/92oz24rwvh3f72u/oldlightwarp.vpk
So, if I understand this correctly, this is the way tf2's lightwarp was suppose to look originally but due to a fuck up a decade ago, has never actually worked and you knowing this fixed it meaning that this file is the way the original TF team intended tf2's playermodels to look?
the original team weren't morons, they surely noticed this. Given the somewhat easier recognition and vibrant look with flat shading they must have gone with it at the last minute.
So, if I understand this correctly, this is the way tf2's lightwarp was suppose to look originally but due to a fuck up a decade ago, has never actually worked and you knowing this fixed it meaning that this file is the way the original TF team intended tf2's playermodels to look?
It's a file meant to emulate the look of the prerelease images (also the leftover broken commands in the playermodel materials). The command is broken due to $phong overriding it instead of it overriding $phong. and it probably happened with the orangebox update. Here's some examples $phong 0 $halflambert 0 [t]http://i.imgur.com/smPQ0w4.png[/t] $phong 0 $halflambert 1 [t]http://i.imgur.com/miWbiQ0.png[/t] $phong 1 $halflambert 0 [t]http://i.imgur.com/jxKELHo.png[/t] $phong 1 $halflambert 1 [t]http://i.imgur.com/We3rzqj.png[/t] As you can see, $halflambert stretches the highlights. The TF2 materials use, $phong 1 $halflambert 0. However, as you can see in the example above, $phong overrides that command, and you still end up with the smooth shading. Here's an album showcasing the adjusted lightwarp to mimic the appearance of $halflambert 0 http://imgur.com/a/ApeEj A lot of which is pretty close to the screenshots on the store page [t]http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/440/0000002578.jpg?t=1493937602[/t] [t]http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/440/0000002577.jpg?t=1493937602[/t] I need to adjust it to make the highlights smoother.
he sponsored his quitting tf2 video with a tf2 amino app. I don't understand the thought process behind this. I don't understand why you would have a sponsor on a personal video at all. I also think a lot of content creators would find a lot of fortune in learning how to diversify their content. A lot of people burn out on TF2 because they force themselves to only play it, and then they bottle up their indifference to the game to the point they have to announce they outright quit. This wouldn't be necessary if they diversified their content regardless of views, and if a day came they wanted to stop tf2 they could afford to stop posting it without rocking the boat. Seeing people quit frequently appears as an emotional outlash from not knowing how to handle a change of taste. But to each their own.
i love punchy. just a down to earth kinda guy, who knows how to examine aspects of tf2 and other interests he has in a well detailed and thought out way. Also my pillow sham cover is the exact same type of the collection that he has for his quilt in his bedroom, so i always felt like i could connect to him well.
I just wish i could disable the rimlighting in TF2, it's actually the ugliest part of the game imo
You actually can using r_rimlight 0, I have rimlight disabled for a year at least. Unless I'm being dumb and there's some other reason why you can't disable it.
Also my pillow sham cover is the exact same type of the collection that he has for his quilt in his bedroom, so i always felt like i could connect to him well.
what the fuck

What better way to do it than a sponsored TF2 ad in your final TF2 video.

If they were to do so, Dota2 would still be the number one child, but CSGO drops down a notch and TF2 now gets to compete with Ricochet and Day of Defeat for attention. PUBG items become a commodity on TF2 trade servers (due to its nature, TF2 has had the dubious distinction of being the conduit for trading items from other Valve games for years now.) In the grim, dark future of TF2 there is only ...other Valve products. :dead:
there's been some hints that something like that might be coming to CSGO, of course it might be something else entirely (it probably is), but you don't know what's going in Valve's mind

Valve actually did recently hire most of the staff of Kerbal Space Program though of course those guys didn't own the IP so they may make something new at Valve.
I just wish i could disable the rimlighting in TF2, it's actually the ugliest part of the game imo
r_rimlight 0 (Disables part of the rimlight, game functions properly) mat_phong 0 (Completely disables rimlight, Australiums loose their shine and certain MvM props are broken)

Should we tell sigseigv about this so he can forward it to valve?
Should we tell sigseigv about this so he can forward it to valve?
suddenly the new update drastically changes the way TF2 looks 10 years post-release
only problem is i want phong and no rimlight but it doesnt seem like i can have my cake and eat it too
r_rimlight 0 ONLY disables the rimlight completely, the phong is STILL there when rim is off, mat_phong 0 is full blown "spy main that plays lofi in the background of his frag video" mode with phong and both rim gone + breaking some stuff like he said too.
this looks so much better but from what ive read i cant use it in sv_pure servers? :\ I hope that's not true

Any command can be used, unless it's considered "cheat" by game, like "god" or "mat_wireframe". You can change both mat_phong and r_rimlight on official servers since those are clientside and not cheats.

Why would the owner of the studio sell a cashmagnet and what would Valve do with a korean studio. Clearly they have adopted the crate and key model from TF2 but it's just one way to make money.
if you're done with the game, you just leave in silence. because nobody gives a shit.
Like Star_ ? yes nobody was upset.
Like Star_ ? yes nobody was upset.
Is that sarcasm? Because a lot were upset he left in silence. While I didn't like Zeno, he made the right move at communicating the reason he's leaving.
I have no idea what everyone's opinons on the following people is but whatever. Didn't Star_ and Muselk leave pretty quietly?
They left TF2, not their communities. They had already by this point become variety entertainers. Zeno hasn't. In addition, STAR's last TF2 video was an obvious "I have nothing more to do in this game". I'm not even sure Muselk has completely left TF2 behind, I'll wait for the pyro update to judge that.
