I have no idea what everyone's opinons on the following people is but whatever.
Didn't Star_ and Muselk leave pretty quietly?
Muselk, yeah, he did it rather well. Just slowly transitioned into OW and made a video or two about his decision.
ster on the other hand... https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/677lwh/the_tf2_debate_between_ster_and_dane/
honestly I hate how ster flat out hates tf2 now even though its the main reason he's where he is now, the least you could do is recognize the game for being what got you as far as you are and maybe even still play it on a rare event like jerma does, but instead ster just starts screeching if you even mention tf2 on stream
well what would you do if a bunch of kids to this day associate you with a game you don't want to be associated with anymore
Jerma is such a cool guy, I almost choke in laughter watching his jerma rumble again, this might be the fifth time I watch them. Star_ also seemed like a cool guy, I recently saw one of his overwach streaming and the guy sounded so burned out of the game already. Overwach is a great game, but when I talk it with friends (the ones that thing tf2 is a shit f2p game) they think about ow like me: It gets way too repetitive so fast, I cant even play 3 matches on a row without wanting to play something else

Make a video about it on the platform I'm well known on and explain why so is. Then if anyone asks, direct them to the video or explain the thing shortly, and NOT go completely silent about it and then start acting like you were violated when somebody mentions you/asks you about it.
I'm not even sure Muselk has completely left TF2 behind, I'll wait for the pyro update to judge that.
Muselk has made 4 or 5 TF2 videos in the past 6 months, I have no doubt he'll make more when the Pyro/Jungle update.

Even zenomite atleast admited that he appreciates TF2 for all the fun times he had playing with his friends.
In general I think announcing your departure from a game to be a little silly, unless you're heavily known for being in the comp scene that is.
Take a break, play other games. Nobody expects someone to play or churn out the same game every single week, you get major burnout on any game if you do that and it only makes you no longer appreciate the game itself.
I expect a lot of TF2 Youtubers to obviously return to TF2 to see the Pyro update when it comes out, even if they don't make a video about it's still something everyone is waiting on since it holds so much promise.
I think video seems to be relevant for tf2 as well, apart from the fact that each update takes a whole year
It's not a great game then.
If it gets repetitive, that means there's nothing of interest. If it's not in any way remarkable there's no need to call it great."Ok" would do fine.
At it's core Overwatch is just a waifu bait blob for casuals ,IMO.
This has no bearing on whether the game is good or not. I'm currently finding both TF2 and Overwatch fairly repetitive, but I wouldn't say either game is bad.
To play Devil's Advocate to the whole Ster stuff he's likely just bitter that his non-TF2 videos never caught on as well with his audience. He got pidgeonholed into doing nothing but TF2 and that's bound to get to a guy. It's a shame too because a lot of his non-TF2 videos are just as if not better than one of his TF2 commentaries, they certainly had more effort put into them.
The thing with overwatch is that it can be incredibly grating to play if you actually want to win.
You're going to be forced to play as a Tank (whos entire job is to hold m2 and look in directions) if you really want to get anywhere in that game. So naturally almost no one plays tanks, and you'll just flat out lose to teams running the proper comp in that game.
In tf2 you can get by without a medic, at least casually. In overwatch not running one is an instant death sentence.
Somehow the 6s meta in tf2 is less stale than Overwatch's 25 hero roster in the pro scene, It makes it really boring and dull to watch.
If you don't enjoy it, but praise it anyway it's called hipocrisy. I don't like it when people mix public opinion on the game with their own experience.
Or you could call it objectivity. You don't have to enjoy something to see its value or quality.
If you don't enjoy it, but praise it anyway it's called hipocrisy. I don't like it when people mix public opinion on the game with their own experience.
That's... that's just blatantly false and wrong, mate.
You can not enjoy the product as a whole, but still appreciate parts of it. Let's take No Man's Sky for example: I dislike the game as a whole, but the soundtrack is great, and I can appreciate what they were going for, even if Sean Murray is the next Molyneux.
You can't just be blind to a game's faults and endlessly praise it either. You have to be fair.

Jerma streams a couple times a week on twitch, and every one of his streams are gold. Not sure if this is the one you're talking about, but just the other day he did a live rumble on twitch.
That's true, yes , you're absolutely right.
BUT.In this case OW prevents mr.shitposter from enjoying it and he still calls it "great", despite being dissatisfied with it.I was pointing out a flaw in logic, not that someone's opinion is wrong.
And I was pointing out a flaw in your logic. I'm not enjoying Overwatch much at the moment and I still think it's a great game, even if I am slowly not playing it as much as I used to. It's not hypocrisy to think that.
To expand what I mean: Enjoyment of a game does not dictate whether the game is good or great or bad, atleast to me. I enjoyed Portal Stories: Mel, but I can't say it was a good game/mod. It was mediocre.
In tf2 you can get by without a medic, at least casually. In overwatch not running one is an instant death sentence.
This is mainly due to in TF2, your skill alone can potentially wipe an entire team. No matter what class they're running, the potential is there.
In Overwatch it's not possible, any kid can press M2 and get 150 damage for missing a shot due to AoE. Or press a button blindly and get awarded with a free headshot, or hold down a button and let the game aim for them.
It's mainly rock beats scissors gameplay, where you need to constantly switch hero to counter the other since skill alone can't win the match nor beat the heroes the enemy plays.
OW players say this is to enforce teamwork, but it's just pretty boring if I must be honest. There's heroes built for solo play or flanking, but in OW their gimmick 'roles' are just outshined by generic meta team in every possible scenario.

"Value" as in cultural value?Enjoyment value? It's still purely subjective and is up to debate.
"Mr shitpost" shit I forgot thats my name in facepunch. And yeah I mean, I might not like games by personnal preferences, lets say in this case world of warcraft but I can see the work behind it, the passion of the developers, the time they spend on it, the mechanics and such. Because I dont enjoy something it doesnt mean it aint good, and that could be applied to anything in this world
Remember how back in MUS I realised how the new YER and L'Etranger complement each other because they're in a set? It's just occurred to me that the proposed DDS change negates the downside of the Bushwacka, too. No clue how I didn't see that earlier.
They actually changed the constant fire vulnerability to a universal damage vulnerability when you have it out in Gun Mettle.

So they did. Whoops.

which would be interesting if bushwacka's downside wasn't pointless 99% of time

oh once more I'm behind the times, it's not fire vulnerability anymore

I don't know about that. To me it always feels like if the enemy team has a medic and yours doesn't, you're going to lose unless it's a complete faceroll.

go soldier
equip gunboats
bomb the medic
it does wonders if the teams are any bit even
I don't know about that. To me it always feels like if the enemy team has a medic and yours doesn't, you're going to lose unless it's a complete faceroll.
I think this is more because most medic plays don't solo queue but instead queue with a decent friend.
as a big medic player I can confirm this. Have been called someone's girlfriend many times.

In my experience, a good Scout with Mad Milk/Soldier with the Concheror can pick up the slack to a moderate degree. Timing and placement is key however.

as an occasional soldier/demo I wish I had the harem of medic gfs that tf2 players claim I have
as an occasional soldier/demo I wish I had the harem of medic gfs that tf2 players claim I have
i actually have enough pocket medic friends that i don't like playing with them that much, because i always end up feeling obligated to play an actual combat class...

As a medic main, i wish i had people i could communicate with in casual games so i don't have to shout at my team to protect the medic

When you're a medic, most players in casual mean well, but are mindless gnomes that exist to either be mowed down by your competent friends, or get mowed down by the enemy's competent friends.
Its almost as if the game lack a helpful hint (read: persistent reminder) regarding low team damage or no healing, that might help the legion of gibus pyros spies and snipers you're forced to pocket accomplish something.
