Dude, it's a big update which means it's gonna be starting to show signs early in the week or at the week before that. It's not gonna be here tomorrow or at the end of this week.
I suspect we are waiting yet more 2 weeks still.
I can't see TF2 being completely handed off to a third party dev at all, Pass time didn't work out too well and most of the game has become community driven.
Handing off the rest of development to someone that isn't Valve seems redundant at this point.
To be fair the company that did pass time got hard bought out and moved.
Before then thy were pretty cool dudes.

That's nice too bad you cannot 100% JC2 without modding or using some save editors because of some bugged chaos objects. Also JC3 was pretty fun.
Also I'm not gonna be a dick about it but 3 new pyro weapons shouldn't be that hard to implement.

Pass time worked out great though. Content was regularly put in and tweaks were made when they were necessary on a timely manner. The bad robot devs even shoved in a lil' Easter egg for the hell of it. A bit of a shame that they didn't take advantage of explosive jumping and just nerfed it but otherwise that was a net positive experiment.

We have been having signs already, though.
This week is still possible, but I'll personally stop praying after tomorrow night, as always.
I don't expect a three day update.
Will I get a new gf before the update hits?
Now talking seriously, what are the odds of it hitting [U]this[/U] week? I already lost the hype, at this point I just want it to hit....

It's possible, though unlikely for it to be this week, as Dota 2's International is currently going on and Valve apparently puts a lot of attention towards that.
Let's be honest with ourselves, valve is busy with the international, and can't reasonably be expected to deviate from where the money goes since that's their (lack of a) management style.

VNN's emails getting answered? Them saying they are actively trying to ship the update? I'd very much call those signs unless you mean something like Crash bursting in saying Jill personally visited his house and gave him a contract for cp_overgrown.

While I usually trust voodoo spirits, they won't release an extremely gameplay-changing update before the biggest TF2 tournament of the year.
Well i thought it was obvious that the team was finishing the update even without the video. They have been doing it for some time as i suspect they wanted to release earlier but had to postpone due to other constraints as they were unable to give it time that they assumed they would in the last few months.

Yeah, but publicly announcing they are doing so comes with a certain grade of confidence, they never talk about ETAs unless they've got something to show very soon when it comes to Updates.
does the soda popper even need a charge gimmick to be viable?
Speaking of the soda popper, I kinda wish there was a way to exclude it and the FaN from the auto reload. I usually just fire both shots to make sure I don't lose a shell

It's funny how in a game with some of the most absurd weapons and mechanics out there they felt the need to make those two weapons reload realistically, yet when weapons that reload in a similar fashion (revolvers, syringe gun, smg) don't have to worry at all about wasting ammo. :v:

i think the "reload entire clip at once" stat makes the weapon really awkward to use. but soda popper at least is powerful enough to be banned in 6s, and a good FaN player is really, really annoying to fight against
edit: honestly, i think soda popper should no longer be in the style of the FaN, but instead in the style of the back scatter, with 4 in the clip. and change what the charge does, because a bunch of jumps is annoyingly powerful against explosive classes. i'd say make the charge increase movement speed significantly while also marking the user for death. reduce damage required to use the charge, make it so the scout can only do a single jump with the weapon, and maybe increase the damage, firing speed, or reload speed of the weapon. idk

you could disable auto reload. it's not exactly a taxing thing to do.
(yes it's possible to excel at TF2 without auto reload, damage text, hitsounds, wall glows, etc.)

wall glows make my tf2 dip down to like 20 fps while they're out, so i haven't had them on almost ever since they've been out. though as a medic main i'm sure they'd help a fuckton

Alright captain vanilla, but the average person doesn't want to have to change this setting every time they want to use two specific weapons.

I don't use auto-reload, but turning off a useful feature because of two weapons is silly.. It seems minor, why not 'fix' the weapons to be consistent with the other weapon in the game?

autoreload is far too convenient just to change it for the two weapons it is inconvenient for

Okay then the average person doesn't want to turn off a setting that is a straight up benefit in every single situation other than for two specific weapons

You of all people should know how much I love a good double barrel shotgun. It's satisfying as all hell to blast people and then have that nice chunky reload. Though I kinda wish the second shot of the FaN did the knockback, I often miss the second shot because I just punted my target away
