I wonder if Artifact will run on Source 2
I wonder if Artifact will run on Source 2
it'll still get sub 30 fps and microstutters upon starting
Come on guys get pumped for Artifact! It will show off how the Source 2 engine can realistically calculate the graphics and physics of Dota cards. This will make for the most immersive card clicking adventure out there!

On an actual serious note: People are being pretty fucking unfair. Without having actually read up on what the gameplay is/how it works etc. people instantly jump on the dae card game = heartstone?? train and call it a cashgrab. We have literally seen nothing but a video that you could compare to a soda ad in TV. Start shitting on it when there is actually something to shit on. Either way, Insomnia is from 25-28. Given that Valve started to value comp a lot, I don't think they'll launch a giant Update right before it/during it. Which means that if we don't get it this week or next week, we might aswell skip that one.
Pretty sure this new card game will be a big success. May draw hate right now, but in the end it will be quite the big cash cow. Best case, is if other Valve IPs get mixed in years after release.

This might be small but we might be getting a tf2 promotional for this game, like the Portal 2/ Left 4 Dead 2 and Cs go items,
Real talk - the card game interests me way more than dota 2 does.
Valve has released updates during Insomnia before. Besides, a release is possible at any point now.
Like last time, I tried to look it up, and the only update releases during Insomnia I found were very minor/ a long while ago. Nothing balance related.
Real talk - the card game interests me way more than dota 2 does.
same, also this reminds me back then when ow was first announced and people was just urr durr tf2
they won't release it during the event, that's for granted
Why do you think so?
-snip late-
Good to know that valve working on their own version of Yugioh is why we don't get updates anymore.
Why do you think so?
last year after the short circuit exploit was found, when sigsegv emailed them as to why it wasn't patched yet, they replied that they wanted to delay it till the event ends not to risk breaking the game, that's just one change to lag compensation on a weapon, let alone a major update changing tons of stuff

This year it's an entirely different case, they got an Update to push out, they won't leave to play checkers with the Dota team like usual. We can't use last years as reference because last years always had the Major Update come out before the International.
I think a lot of people don't understand why people are mad about this game announcement. For the past who knows how many years Valve has been focusing only on monetization of their released titles, which is understandable. CS:GO has skins, TF2 has bunch of stuff, Idk what dota 2 has. People were expecting something more after this time. New game that would be more than just card play and microtransactions. I don't think anyone expects it to be a bad game. They just expected more.

If there's one thing I'd love from Dota is an MMORPG. The Dota universe as a fantasy is ripe for expanding upon, I'm sure Artifact will do just that by expanding on characters, stories and settings. And knowing Valve they could really go crazy with an MMORPG, a genre they've never touched upon. But honestly another card game even if it has different gameplay elements from say other card games is a little, how to put it...Disheartening. Personally with them announcing they had 3 or so games under their belt I and I'm sure others expected far more, but I'm positive Artifact will receive a community that will love the game for what it is and not what it could of been. On the topic of TF2 though, played my first Mann Up match with a cheater playing Sniper. Team refused to kick him since it was an easy game for them being 0 tours, left a sour taste in my mouth.
So Artifact is one of the 3 games they said they were working on. I wonder how it'll work in VR. Tbh something like a 3D Hand of Fate style board in VR could be really cool. I don't care for Dota's world, but an awesome presentation could win me over, if the micro transaction/card grind isn't awful.
I think people would have been a lot more keen on a valve card game if it actually involved all of the different valve franchises instead of just the one with over 100 characters that only people who already play dota will recognize.

VR is possible, however not confirmed. The 3 games were specifically VR related games.
Did they have to make a russian trailer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAU-TTivtdE I mean if a Russian guy looks up on ytb for "Artifact Teaser - Russian" which is by itself very unlikely, it means they understand the word "teaser" so they have some knowledge in english, so why make a video to translate one string "card game". If the words "card game" are so important I really wonder how the game will look like. :v: Edit: Even funnier, they didn't bother translating the description. "Artifact - The Dota Card Game Coming 2018 from Valve" Valve you made my day.

Also, there are many outlets in russia that would translate and deliver advertising to consumer for them, so they didn't even have to bother. It only shows how much they are chasing green backs, which is shame for company that is "all for innovations, technology, new vision n' stuff"
I really hate how unfun the game is after coming back after 3 months of not playing it for the fact that it is unfun.
