I really want a decent MvM tutorial (or just a decent tutorial in general) so I don't have to pay a dollar every time I want to play a game without a Scout who has a nearly maxed out Bat on the second wave
Just fucking update the game god damn
This may seem strange, but I really want them to make a blog post about the Pyro/Jungle update in exactly 12 days. [sp] Because according to the wiki it would make it 69 days between blog posts and since I'm an immature teenager that number is hilarious to me [/sp]
This is the worst thing I have ever read
Just fucking update the game god damn
Welcome back you managed like 2-3 weeks
-snip bad jok-
If it's not tomorrow - there goes me playing it during summer breaks, because as stated - next two weeks are least probable ones. I wish there was some info. Not blogpost, just post on reddit or FP, and i don't ask for time frames, just in general how is it going, how much work is done, what are the problems. Like i remember before Love and War there was blogpost regarding their weapon ideas where they gave sneak peek of BASE jumper and told about idea of facestab knife - i talk about that kind of stuff, just to show what is being worked on. Like, if there are problems with fixing mojo, they could just make a short post about what they did to it and why is it a problem - i think many people will be interested in stuff like that.
Here's something to get you guys sated for a bit, the Mappers vs Machines contest just started the public voting segment of judging. There are 16 maps for the public voting with 2 missions each, trimmed down from the 46 maps submitted. Voting rules and etc can be done here. Have fun killing robots.

It would be awesome if valve released the update blog post on the same day my new laptop is coming.
It would be awesome if valve released the update blog post tomorrow

can someone make one of those bingo tickets?
So, was there ever an explanation as to why all of the balance changes for MyM were so weird and random? They lined up with nothing, some of them didn't work and some just were insane

My only guess is when they got into crunch time and things became stressful, they did stupid shit like fucking over the bison.
What're you guys talking about the new short stop secondary fire is totally rational and useful :downs:
MyM was good at it's core but execution was godawful. The new top bar of hud encapsulates it. It's a very cool and neat idea - to display all classes on your team, their health, respawn times, and confirmed kills of enemy theam. But you can't make out a thing how tiny it is! And if it were larger it would be too distracting. They could easily put that info down into scoreboard to make it serve gameplay purpose other than checking for deadringer spies, but instead they tried to make it at display at all times and failed horribly. Yes, all aside - put health and classes of dead enemies in scoreboard, i know you are reading this. Respawn wave timer would be nice too.
The enforcer change was literally untested. Like, at no point did anyone actually use it to see if the attribute did anything
No answers. My only guess is when they got into crunch time and things became stressful, they did stupid shit like fucking over the bison.
It's stupid that we have to live with these awful decisions for a year because they had to do stuff in a pinch. CS:GO constantly gets small fixes but for some reason another team in the same building has to hold them for a damned year.
I hope to fuck whatever the community response to the pyro update is is enough to get them to hire more people, especially those dedicated to game balance. And I don't care about the apparent "oh boo hoo the dota team might ask for more members" reasoning they have.
One of the issues of MyM was that it introduced bunch of new features for matchmaking that didn't get tested beforehand on the early access for matchmaking. Only thing that was tested was loadbalancing and searchsystem. Same thing happened with mannpower coming out of beta. Suddenly more powerupps were added and changes. I get that valve wants to keep some of those as a surprise but in both matters, how can them come out of beta at that moment when new features are added? Would make more sense to let large people playerbase to test those and then announce they are done and out of beta stage.
Something tells me that it's more than just being understaffed or budget concerns. Those things don't explain the mind-boggling stupor of MyM removing map voting, ad hoc joining and votekicking. Who in any kind of design theory would think "hey let's remove these handy quality of life featues that we've spent the game's entire life fixing bugs for, when we ship the update". Only to add them back months later to make it look like something got done in that time. This goes beyond being understaffed. Jill and driller etc. May be passionate and play the game, but the people doing the actual implementation clearly do not.
Did anyone else page monitors go off or was that jut me?
Did anyone else page monitors go off or was that jut me?
I refreshed mine and didn't get anything.
They gotta be kidding us if tonight there will be the same radio silence as usual

I can't explain MyM. Any of it. At all.
It's times like this that I really wish more people were willing to work on TF2. Even though I don't personally agree with Valve's work policies, I can understand why it exists. Putting the fact that the update isn't here yet aside, I wish they would of done more with the Beta maps they introduced a few years ago. I love rd_asteroid and cactus canyon. It's a shame to see them put on the sideline.

Communication helps communities stay alive and sane.
TF2 servers are down. just saying, doesn't necessarily mean anything. EDIT: CS:GO server's are also Critical. EDIT 2: Not anymore. :blaze:
I mostly wish they had a dedicated PR and Community Manager for the game's Blog and Social Media. I don't like bringing Overwatch into discussion but TF2 Devs could really learn something from Blizz when it comes to communication.
