I agree. however when i draw up concepts, i just draw out the idea as I had it, and minor details like that can be sorted out by personal preference of the model/texture artist.

A fictional ancient Mayan/Aztec weapon (or firearm) that functions as a shotgun firing flaming buckshots. I had a hard time trying to draw the ancient Mayan/Aztec gold engravings on this weapon and I know it does not look good.

Seriously, people need to learn what the fuck racism actually is. What makes something racist is suggesting that a behavior or quality is unique and universal to an entire race of people. The above examples of war propaganda are blatantly racist, but making the TF2 mercs act like monkeys really, [I]really[/I] isn't.
Telling an Asian kid who solves a tough calculus problem that they're good at math isn't racist, but walking up to an Asian and assuming that [I]because[/I] they are Asian they [I]must[/I] be good at math is racist. Having a single black man with an afro who speaks jive and eats soul food in a Hollywood movie isn't racist, but typecasting [I]all[/I] black actors into such two dimensional characters in [I]hundreds[/I] of movies over [I]decades[/I] of history is racist.
Likewise, it isn't racist to have a black man act like an ape if eight white guys are also acting the exact same way right there with him. It'd only be racist (and incredibly so) if the taunt was [I]exclusive[/I] to Demoman for whatever reason. But it isn't, so it's not.

I'd recommend going bigger on the parts that make it unique, and respecting the current shotgun animations. Ideally draw over the weapon type you intend to replace to get a good idea of scale and how each class will hold it.

Not too long before the mayann project, I began working on a visual overhaul of the whole map (because lets face it, the map just doesn't look that great. or at least, it's not up to my standards anymore). Needless to say, the announcement of the mayann project came in at the perfect time since I happened to be on the lookout for a brick texture replacement. Now, it only makes sense for me to collaborate with the mayann project. looking forward to the prop pack.
That said I still have many more textures to redo, I can probably get most of it done myself but it's hard to say without a deadline. If an experimented texture artist wants to tag along, I'd love to have someone on board to help me polish this thing.
Made this today, gonna figure out what to do with it. Shield? Medallion? Earrings? Who knows.

Have Pyro stick a hose on his mask and pretend to be an elephant shooting out water (gasoline) or something. You could personalize each animation quite a bit to make it stand out while still fitting the key idea.

Hey, as fun as the Emperor's New Groove stuff is, and I'm not sure if someone's pointed this out yet or now, but the setting that movie is during the age of the Incan empire, that was in South America. The Aztec Empire, or in this case Maya, is central to southeast Mexico.
But then again, I'm bringing up stuff about culture and how accurate it is based on it's geographical location where the universe of Team Fortress 2 is supposably set in the 1950s and claims that Australia is 2000 years more advanced than the rest of the world. :v:

This is exactly what I have in mind. Spy does moves like a snake, Sniper pretends to be a crocodile (sydney sleeper set) and only the heavy (gorilla) and the scout shall pretend to be a wild monkey in the jungle.
I agree, the demonstration picture i made is misleadingly. It should show the key idea that every class pretends to be a wild animal depending on there character. Incidentally It would be boring, if everybody is a crap throwing monkey.
