My first taunt for the Mayann project

It's a very interesting idea and I see you've tried to make is as close as possible to the source material (which is good!) but it's very stiff and as mentioned before it doesn't really fit in the Mayann theme since Crash Bandicoot is set off the Shores of Australia. It could make for a good taunt on it's own though!
I suggest you read up on the 12 principles of animation before doing anything else. I see something with a lot of potential here but some further learning can really help you out.

As an example look at how Dr Steen's animation works, The Sniper's body squashes and stretches a small amount to emphasize movement. There's a bit of anticipation before the sniper rises the flute in the air, adding a flair of drama and emotion. Different limbs move at different rates and react to how they've moved.
TF2 has a cartoonish art style so there's some leeway when it comes to movements. You don't HAVE to use all 12 principles in the same animation but knowing what they are and when to use them WILL help you.

Ok I just checked your Youtube channel and you seem to know this stuff anyway:

I don't mean to be rude but you could definitely do better than this. I'm guessing you were trying to copy the PS1 style movement 1 for 1 but that looks terrible in TF2 (or most newer games tbh). IT could still work if it was more like your other animations
I'm sorry if I came off as patronising but I thought from the janky animation that you were new at this :v:.
Thank you Winglet for helping with the textures of the Frog.
What do you guys think so far?

Might look better without those green dark spots or making those dark spots more subtle.

Anyone know how to make taunt animations work in item preview?
Dr Steen sent me a test .dmx of the taunt, and the sniper stays in reference pose despite pressing "ACTION"

Try viewing it in HLModelViewer First.
Did he send you the dmx of the taunt or the exported dmx. Open it up in SFM and then reexport the taunt then try it again.
Also, any sounds you have on the timeline are exported with the taunt, but like maps if it's a third party sound I believe you need to include it with the workshop submission, the same as "packing" a map with custom content. Same thing for custom props.
Oh and one last thing, pl_mannchupichu is still happening, I just gotta find time to work on it. So if anyone is interested in helping with this massive undertaking hit me up on steam. Ye.

This is pretty well-animated, but it's short, and I would get bored with it really quickly. I don't think I would buy it, since I wouldn't really use it over the Most Wanted or Killer Solo.
What you could maybe do to make it funnier and more interesting is expand on it. I'd love to see some characterization for Sniper in this taunt. Maybe after he finishes the solo, he could pause and take a moment to say something, either to the enemy he just killed, the flute, or to himself. I think a selection of "Domination-related responses (if scoped)" responses from here are really good choices: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Sniper_responses#Taunt-related_responses.
For example, these three responses would work perfectly at the end of the taunt, with a funny delivery animation for the Sniper (picture him being really smug while delivering them): https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/5/53/Sniper_domination20.wav?t=20100625223317, https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/1/11/Sniper_domination18.wav?t=20100625223315, https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/6/6c/Sniper_domination24.wav?t=20100625223322, and maybe https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/4/4b/Sniper_domination19.wav?t=20100625223316.
Alternatively, from the same section of Sniper responses, these voice lines would be great if you wanted to change the theme of the taunt to "Sniper plays flute and feels really sorry for himself afterwards". It would be weird, but memorable (imagine Sniper playing the flute, then facepalming afterwards): https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/c/c3/Sniper_domination12.wav?t=20100625223306, https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/a/af/Sniper_domination08.wav?t=20100625223301, and https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/b/bd/Sniper_domination01.wav?t=20100625223253.
Finally, and this is a weird one, but you could repurpose various Sniper voice lines so that he held up and talked to his flute as if it were an actual person every time, kind of like how Heavy has all his voice lines to his Sandvich. It would be weird, but kind of funny. Imagine Sniper holding up his flute, looking at it, smiling, and saying these: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/2/2f/Sniper_domination23.wav?t=20100625223321, https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/8/81/Sniper_domination04.wav?t=20100625223257, (only the first part, removing "sister") https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/8/81/Sniper_domination04.wav?t=20100625223257, https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/7/7d/Sniper_mvm_loot_rare05.wav?t=20131122055027, (first part only) https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/5/58/Sniper_item_birdhead_domination01.wav?t=20131030195600, https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/f/f3/Sniper_mvm_loot_rare06.wav?t=20131122055024. He could even "cuddle" with the flute briefly towards the end of the voice lines. Anyhow, it's strange, but I thought I might as well share any ideas I had.
One last thing - you might want to consider more flute music, because this one track gets old pretty quickly.

I'm probably not going to do any of that.
The taunt is going to be all class, it's not just for the sniper.
Also, there will be variations in the flute music similar to the killer solo (most likely)

Fair enough, I guess. But just remember that a taunt being all-class doesn't really make it better value if it's not entertaining. The Conga has lots of funny lines for each character, the Kick has multiple different dance moves for each character, and Mannrobics has funny lines and an additional different dance routine for each character. Meanwhile, Schaudenfreude and Burstchester get by by relying on entertaining reactions for each character, while taunts like Zoomin' Broomin' and Shred Alert are as good as they are because the base concepts for those taunts are so inherently cool.
I'm just saying, if making this all-class means that the focus of the taunt is on the flute and not on the person playing it for each merc, I don't think it's worth it. It worked for Shred Alert, but only because the animation, particle effects, and sound involved were so entertaining to watch on any merc. Playing a flute is pretty tame.
Not trying to criticize, just trying to offer some friendly advice.

Snake charming is an Indian & North African thing. It doesn't really fit South American cultures.

That hat on the spy with the earrings. Reminds me of centauri hair from Babylon 5 but it also would look cool as heck ingame.

It's still a work in progress. We are testing it in game right now as a regular model, and we will take your advice about the yellow spots.
I really just wanna say thanks for the votes when I added the miner set to the Mayann Collection!
I published it more than a year ago been on the first page for almost a week now because of a couple new votes i got from facepunch.
Thanks again!

What do you guys think about this? Facing world style map that's capture the flag or even payload race were you've gotta push your god into the enemy's temple.
