Any shots of the shirt with in-game poses? All the ones shown are very reference posey.
I think it sounds very, very complicated. That's not necessarily a terrible thing, but it certainly causes maps to take a hit in popularity, regardless of people's perceptions of the actual map itself.
In my opinion, you should only introduce new map mechanics when they're absolutely necessary for the unique type of gameplay you want players to experience. Control points and payloads work really, really well as objectives (flags honestly less so, at least in a team-focused shooter). Robot Destruction and Player Destruction's novel mechanics are absolutely necessary, because they're both designed to support the sort of "stalematey" gameplay of CTF or Hightower, but using a point system instead of objectives (while still adding somewhat lose objectives to give the game a certain flow and direction).
My question to you is this: what sort of interesting gameplay experience would you like to create using this idea that wouldn't be achievable through the use of a more conventional and simple game mode such as PLR?
Keep in mind that was a more "technical workings" description of the game mode. Could easily be described to players new to the map as "BLU plays payload, RED plays CTF."
Unlike PLR or even standard CTF, where every player on either team needs to decide to either focus on attacking (pushing their cart/going for the enemy's intel) or defending (keeping the enemy team from pushing their cart/going for their intel), the players on each team have only one goal at a time, either the cart (pushing it/stopping it) or the flag (getting it to return/capturing it).
It's a sort of spiritual successor to the hunted TFC game mode. However, unlike standard payload and more similarly to hunted, the BLU team can't just leave the cart sitting alone. I also feel an advantage to this game mode is it gives the BLU team a little more of an emotional investment into their defense target, as they had to put the work in themselves to get it where it was, rather than just having it sit there like a standard flag or CP would. Feels more personal when RED takes that flag, threatening to nullify all the progress you made.
As for the RED side, I like that this creates more of a tactical approach to trying to capture the flag, as it could start out anywhere along the payload track, rather than always at one fixed location. Having the capture zone be a neutral, dangerous place also eliminates the fairly boring latter half of a standard flag capture run, where barring a few enemies that might happen to be there, is usually just a run through your base to the capture zone.

A quick concept that can be tinkered with to look less noisy, etc. I just want more tattoo items

Am I missing something? How is this Mayann-themed?
Am I missing something? How is this Mayann-themed?
This set focuses on the explorer/adventurer theme of the Mayann guidelines
Am I missing something? How is this Mayann-themed?
Mayan Tribesmen and jungle fauna aren't the only things that can fit into the Mayann theme. There are also explorers, conquerers etc.
Also, here's some progress on the snakeblade, the lower jaw is extremely wip, but I've become satisfied with the current shape of the snake head pommel.

Any advice?
edit: more progress on the snakeblade

I feel somewhat satisfied with the blade, but feel like it lacks emphasis on the mayan theme, opinions?

jaws work the opposite way, what move is the down part, not the upper part...

We added some news poses.

It's not supposed to be a real snake head, supposed to be made of gold, silver etc.
Anyways, more progress.

I changed the shape of the blade because I just remembered the original concept I made. I still plan to coil the tail around the blade if I can manage to make that look good.
Also, can anyone upload resources for the Kukri (mainly .smd, .vta, and .qc etc.), because I can't get them because of hella-slow internet.

Right so, I know its based on that character from Disney's Atlantis...
but if you were to isolate the items from the reference, there is nothing that really looks adventurer/explorer or Mayan about it.
Too much like battle bob? Vote boxes if yes.

It should be, IMHO, all-class at least.
Just to not to look like a battle bob much.
Otherwise, neat. At least for me.

There's nothing Maya about south america but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to suggest Inca items.
There's nothing Maya about south america but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to suggest Inca items.
That falls into the adventurer / explorer side of things though as The Incas were an ancient civilisation. And while different to Mayan, they still have a lot of visual similarities.
Where as items in question only make sense in context of this project if you understand the reference.
There's nothing Maya about south america but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to suggest Inca items.
Sure, but they were an ancient empire of Precolombian America which resided in a very jungle-y location. I feel like that's a much stronger connection to the general feel of the project than that of a fictional character from a movie about Atlantis.
Source Filmmaker versions of the Frog are done! Thanks to MMW on fixing up the QC file and the model itself.
All that's left is Rigging the TF2 version, and it should be out on the workshop soon.
Thanks for all the suggestions, comments and thoughts for the Frog throughout making it. You guys have been an AMAZING support.
Yeah I really wish they'd accept reskins for weapons that aren't default.
Sun-on-a-stick and the Candy Cane are the first ones I'd drop if there was an alternative that fit a bit more with TF2 all year round.
I really want an alternative model to the Backscratcher, I use that thing all the time but it looks so out of place with everything else.
Here's a question:
Will there be ducks?
At last, the frog is 99% done

It's the base (Standing) SFM version that I made with MMW at a Team Memeber's request.
The TF2 version is fixed up, and is being rigged as we speak. Both versions (TF2 and Standing Posed SFM Version) will be uploaded at the same time.

it's a nice frog but at this point it's deviated from "the mayann project" to "the froggo project"
