I think I understand where Punchy is going with it. Those pieces make the scout and heavy are going on a vacation trip to Hawaii and not that of people going to explore tombs and temples for the sake of science and exploration and what not. More so if it's in a more dangerous location or has stuff like traps and dangerous animals around.
I can understand if people can see it as a little out of place in that regard.

Took a long, long time to make this all class looping Mayann taunt. Hope it sees some love here in the community.

Don't know if it's just me, but the torsos on some of the classes seem a bit stiff (Scout, Soldier, and Engineer for example).

Probably the least interesting weapon ive seen in a while tbh, literally a rock on a stick.
Well, bats are just sticks and there are plenty. Plus what did you expect from a mayan update? I mean weapon wise they were pretty dull in most cases.
It could use some dry blood or something too look more used (rituals or combat) instead of pristine.

I'm still waiting for someone to make an epic Huo-Long Heater reskin with a jewel-encrusted gold barrel and with a Feathered Serpent head instead of the HLH's dragon head: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0f/Teotihuacan_Feathered_Serpent_(Jami_Dwyer).jpg
Someone mentioned a couple of months ago that they were working on it, among other things, but I haven't heard anything since. It's a shame, because it's a reskin that's just begging to happen.

If no one else does it, can I do it?
EDIT:
I will need some help with texturing and getting it imported into the game and such, though...

Sweet! I'll work on it during the 72HR mapping contest on the 22nd-24th. Anyways, should I credit you for the idea when I upload it?
concerning the Tropical Vacation shirts.
Correct me IF I am wrong, but are there movies where there are adventures with guys wearing those types of shirts.
So maybe it fits from that point of view?
Also they might be simple, but they are very nice looking in their simplicity. Which I like. :D
Also nice weapons, the Obsidian stick with blades and the club.
Would they have something like HP on kill instead of just being a All class melee?

I'll leave it up to you! I wouldn't mind too much if you took full credit, but here's my profile on Steam if you decide that you want to do so: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198107790399

If you click the gear in the top right corner of Facepunch, you can add your Steam profile to your Facepunch so people can access it at will.
Hey, does anyone happen to know what the huo long heater's model is called in GCFScape? I can't find it anywhere...
EDIT: Found it under c_canton...

Should be c_canton.mdl
I assume 2 LoDs should be enough? One high and one low? Or, should I just try and make 3?
What does everyone here think of replacing the holes in the huo long heater with gems? http://m.imgur.com/93xsbCI

it's probably in bad practice to edit community-made weapons in any way, shape, or form. you should probably start of with a fresh model with an entirely new concept to avoid any troubles down the line, just to be safe.

Yeah, good point, I'll do that in the final version. Anyways, I just posted that to ask how everyone felt about it as a concept, not as some kind of finished project.

You know, it occurred to me that a solid gold, gem-encrusted minigun probably isn't the way to go. You'll want two primary colours, not just one, as well as maybe a minor one for the handles and such. I'd recommend going with dark jade and gold.
Part of that's because I think the colours would go well together: you could use gold for the drum, the handle and its attachment, and maybe a bit of decoration on parts of the barrel; and jade as the primary material for the barrel, the Feathered Serpent head on the end, and a couple of other bits of decoration. Then you could maybe use a couple of (aesthetically and culturally appropriate) gemstones on any segments of the minigun that could use some livening up.
The other reason why I say jade is because it's distinctly Mayan (or Olmec, I suppose, but that's neither here nor there). Jade was extremely rare for the Mayans, but they considered it a sacred stone far more valuable than gold, it being symbolic of both life and death for them. They would place jade beads in the mouths of their dead, and they would also make elaborate jade funeral masks (also known as "death masks") for the revered upon their deaths, such as with the famous ruler Pacal (http://inside.mines.edu/fs_home/jsneed/courses/LISS.380-83/LISS.381/resources/sites/palenque/imgjmsk/pacal.jpg). Aside from its religious uses, jade was also the hardest known mineral in the Mayan empire and, as such, Mayan craftsmen used jade tools to fashion their intricate creations.
As far as precious gems go, I'd say less is more. One larger gem in a well-chosen spot leaves more of an impression than a bunch of gems all over the place. The gems should enhance the design of the minigun, rather than make up for it by distracting from it. I'd recommend using rubies, since they go well with both gold and jade individually, but there are probably a lot of good colours for gems that would nicely complement the minigun.
Whoops, I wrote quite a bit more there than I intended, I apologise! I hope this helps you in some way. Anyhow, good luck with the minigun!

One could only assume the community project sfm video might somehow bridge that connection???? I don't foresee them bridging the gap to Hawaiian shirts in this update, though.
