That's pretty much the definition of entitlement. Want a key? BUY ONE FROM THE MANN CO. STORE OR THE MARKET, GOD DAMN IT. It's not Valve's job to regulate the economy (and it shouldn't be for obvious reasons).
I want keys to rise to $2.50 on Paypal making it redundant. I know it will most likely crash before then, but I just wanna see it happen for a laugh

It seems everyone and their mothers has a different way of bitching about how you/valve/long/backpack.tf is killing the economy like each person is the key messiah. A "keysus" if you will.
https://www.change.org/petitions/valve-corporation-remove-team-fortress-2-keys-from-the-steam-community-market EL OH FUCKING EL
https://www.change.org/petitions/valve-corporation-remove-team-fortress-2-keys-from-the-steam-community-market EL OH FUCKING EL

To: Gabe Newell, Valve Corporation Please, remove Team Fortress 2 Keys from the Steam Community Market because it breaks the economy of Team Fortress 2. Sincerely, [Your name]
And I was juuuust about to take this seriously. It took them literally 30 seconds to type this.
Sell all the keys nao!
Sell all the keys nao!
That will only increase price of the keys which they are ALREADY HIGH! 5,11 ref!
https://www.change.org/petitions/valve-corporation-remove-team-fortress-2-keys-from-the-steam-community-market EL OH FUCKING EL
I love how their letter says it "breaks the economy", as if that's a thing that can happen. The price in terms of ref has just changed. I really wish a brief intro to economics was required for trading, it would be such a happier place.

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/518422c9ba25369409000007 Looks like he's at it again. Have I got this right? >Knowingly traded with carders >Was trade banned >Attempts to reduce price of almost everything except keys >Always has hundreds of keys >Constantly trying to raise keys >Obviously an extremely bias motive here bp.tf accepts his suggestions If I'm correct about this, bp.tf claims they strive to make an unbias pricing guide free from manipulation yet they let Long get away with this. If I'm right, this really leads me to believe that there is no doubt corruption in bp.tf. It's like they seem to back him and the only reason he was banned recently is because he was trade banned. By turning a blind eye to that, it would've been way too obvious that something was going on. Now that's done with, they freely let him off the hook again .. and even then, he was still able to make other suggestions while banned from keys, it's like bp.tf just gave him the smallest slap on the wrist. I don't mean to always talk about keys, hell I'm over trading ... but I just find this interesting.
Score: -871 Status: Accepted Seems legit
I think it's to counter all of those "Does anyone else remember when keys were 2.33?" guys who spam downvotes on all of the prices.
I think it's to counter all of those "Does anyone else remember when keys were 2.33?" guys who spam downvotes on all of the prices.
I get it, the guy offered a ton of proof and the downvotes are likely because the entire trading community has their panties in a bunch over ref inflation. But why bother having a voting system if it isn't used?
Because, keys are a special case, as there's this big debate right now, but most other items are perfectly fine with voting, and I'm sure the system works there.
The voting system is just a token system so it appears that Brad is not manipulating, reality bp.tf is the same as spreadsheet. Votes don't matter.
Honestly, the idea of moderators picking prices wouldn't bother me so much if they just came out and admitted that it's all their site boils down to. The lying is what makes this feel infinitely more seedy. Stop bullshitting your users. Either get rid of the voting system or make votes actually worth shit. Mass voting or not, it's still a majority.
I'm not sure where on the site it says that the votes matter or not.
Though backpack.tf has some horrible people that for some reason have some grip over item prices.
Though backpack.tf has some horrible people that for some reason have some grip over item prices.
Why don't you dedicate (waste) the time to find and document item sales and show proof (loloutpost) of these sales and work towards making sure that the price listed on backpack.tf is up to date and current? If you worked your hardest I'm sure you too would have a grip on these prices.
Brad is able to tell when votes are bullshit by checking user vote history. Votes aren't worthless but not all votes are equal, and they aren't the end all. The mods were picked because they considered the evidence and had a good voting history. It's not a perfect system, mistakes do happen, and it could be more transparent, but it certainly is no The Spreadsheet.

Mods are fucking retards.

He was only removed from service after a massive public outcry, and gave the hat back. After that, he was welcomed right back into modship.
I set my buyout slightly high on purpose to get offers. Kid asks me to do a quicktrade and I don't want to sell it for a quicktrade and tells me that it's stupid. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10543443

So I was just looking back through the first thread from the time of Suttle's firing to Omber's getting fucked by the long cock of internet vigilantes. The reasoning for the loss of Suttles was inactivity. In the entirety of my time on the staff, Dead4Lyfe did as many reports as I would do in a week. From what I hear from the current staff, it's still the same. He'd post things in the staff only chat like "Oh shit sorry bros, I'm getting DDOS'd" while playing TF2 non stop. Also, who even is Wiki? I never saw a single administrative action by him.
About keys, I'm not sure what's the worst: People selling their keys for an insane price (like one more ref than the current spreadsheet) with note such as "don't like it then gtfo". Or all the retarded "let's save themannconomy !!!" trades that polute the search. I mean seriously: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10520319 I WILL SAVE THE PRICE OF KEYS JUST SELL ME YOUR KEYS FOR 2.33 ! 100% LEGIT I SWEAR !
