where do i get a stretch of love omg
Try your local hardware store.
Well it was also entirely useless. One key a week is a negligible amount, and selling at an outdated price in such immensely small scales could not have less of an effect on the value of the key. I get it, inflation sucks, back in my day keys were 2.33 and we had to walk uphill both ways to get to a trade server. All these little protests do is waste the time of people trying to buy keys. You're not sticking it to the man, because there is no man. It's simply economics, and economics doesn't give two shits about hurt feels on key prices.
I agree that these protest sales will do nothing.
In order to change the price you'll need at least a minimum of 20 people selling keys at 2.33 at the same time on Outpost. It has to be so that when buyers log onto OP to search for sellers, the majority of sellers they come across will be 2.33 sellers. This will make it harder for 5 ref sellers to be noticed ... and even if they were, why bother going to them when there are 20+ sellers for 2.33?
Having 1-5 people doing this won't affect anything. The 5+ref sellers far outweigh the 2.33 sellers and the average price will still be higher than 2.33.
Also, yes, selling 1 key a week per person is ridiculous. This also hinders the purpose because if I want 10 keys from a seller, I'm not going to wait 10 weeks to get them. Goodluck to those wanting 52 keys who have to wait a whole year.
Why does this hinder the purpose? I want 10 keys, I buy ONE from you but I need the keys in 3 days. I have no choice but to buy the other 9 keys from 5+ref sellers. Which means they still make the majority of sales and therefore still win.
The only way to do this is as stated above ... this means the 20+ sellers who are selling for 2.33 have no choice but to sacrifice dollars from their own wallet (such as on SOP). They must not just sell a key per person a week but sell like any other person would back in the day ... and I don't think many people are willing to spend tonnes of cash to do this. I don't think you're going to find that many people who are selfless.
If you do manage to do this, it will work because it won't matter whether or not people try to re-sell at a higher price because they will be overlooked by the 20+ sellers at 2.33 who are more than happy to provide as many keys as you want. So any re-seller won't be able to make any sales, therefore forced to drop their price.
But like I said, you will need a large team of selfless people who are willing to constantly spend cash on keys to sell at 2.33ref. This can be done only with cash. Because buying keys with ref from high sellers to re-sell at 2.33 is pointless since you yourself just gave the high seller some sales. MannCo keys are the best way to go about this because it's an original source. Buying on SOP you'll be paying the current high price of $1.70, this may hinder sellers on SOP to drop it ... but if 2.33 takes over, they will most likely have to. So this is the only way to drop keys to 2.33 ref.
In short, you need to outnumber high price sellers and be able to provide large amounts of keys. The only other way keys will drop is when the bubble bursts and buyers no longer tolerate such high prices.
Thanks torn. I'll incorporate mostly everything you said into the plan.
We've also recently acknowledged that 2.33 is near impossible so we're settling with 3.33-3.66.
Only issue is that people keep backing out or making empty promises which should be shorted out eventually.
So I made a trade where I was trading 4.33 ref for a level 11 Track Terrorizer.
Someone adds me (KILLER and some Korean letters or whatever). I knew this would go to Hell fast but I decided to accept anyway. He almost immediately trades me, adds in a level 22 Track Terrorizer painted Value of Teamwork and asks for 9 ref.

Well i saw 6-15 ref trades, problem is that trade still open and created 4 days ago.
If you search key to ref trades, 9/10 will be:
1. "out of stock" and still autobumped.
2. low price and 40 days ago online with autobump.
3. trash trades like linked
4. resellers like b4ref s6ref
And more, nobody care about rules, since nobody baning, even retarded troll trades just closed w/o any punishment.
Add here eyebleeding look, symbols, strings, rows, counters, STOCK/SOLD shit, colours - thats all TF2OP.

The first guy probably thought "22 is 2 times 11, he'll pay twice the price for it!"
By this logic, offer 1 scrap to the dude who put up the level 1.
Stupid Russian trader
Every time I see a Russian person make a stupid trade, try to scam someone, do something like this, etc, I always die a little bit inside. I was born in Russia (although I moved to America when I was about three), and I always feel sad when I see these kinds of people. It makes me think "THESE are the kinds of gamers that live in my home country?" Sorry for all the emotional stuff, but it just seems like 50% of dumb traders or scammers are Russian nowadays.
