The trade got closed and the guy got banned. Justice has been served.
Victory has been served  Anyways to keep this on topic:
Headshot_: Hi how may I help you? Trader: Yeah hi man click on this link please *link to a fake imgur site* I've posted an offer there. Headshot_: Sure thing man I'll just go ahead and open it up (No I didn't open it up. A similar scam ran around and I read it up on /r/tf2 which gives the scammer access to your router and IP and shit). Trader is offline Lost connection to steam.... blah blah Trader is now online Trader: What a shame. You lost connection huh? I know because I did that. And I can DDoS your router if you don't give me that unusual. Headshot_: OH NO YOU'RE GONNA DDOS ME? Well that's too bad I have this shit written down and can bust your ass. Trader: Let's see you try faggot. Headshot_: Let's see you try to DDoS me without getting me to click that link, asshole. I can READ Trader: LOL whatevs fag I'll ddos you for 7 dayz Headshot_: Nice code? Is it from pastebin? Too bad I know how to ipconfig. Go home script kiddy. Trader is now offline.
I felt proud.

Everyone celebrate![/sp]. I highly doubt he'd be able to get access to your router if you change the login details (and even then, I don't even think you can access the router if you're outside the network unless you use Teamviewer on a PC connected to the network). DDoS? Oh please. I change my IP through Linux/Windows or reboot my router and the attack is mitigated as the IP is dead. Such stupid minds, foiled by the simplest things. People like this amuse me to no end. They have no idea what this mysterious code does and touts it as being "the best haxxor eva" when all it could be doing is taking random memory values, displaying them with convincing messages and "Hello World" at the end.

Honestly for every person that can call their bullshit there are probably 5 that will freak out and give in to them.

I played along for a while till the trade. I put up my unusual and clicked ready. He clicks ready. Then I close, sign off quickly and ipconfig my way out. Scriptkiddies are goddamn retarded.

They think that if they say anything that we'll believe it. I know how to prevent and resolve stuff like this, and understand enough about how it works so that I don't actually believe that stuff. If I ever find another scriptkiddy, I'll send him his own fake link back through tinyurl or some other site.
This made me laugh. I played along for a while till the trade. I put up my unusual and clicked ready. He clicks ready. Then I close, sign off quickly and ipconfig my way out. Scriptkiddies are goddamn retarded.
To be honest, I've yet to find a means to get an IP through Steam chat alone (without going to another site which tells you your IP and somehow logging it but even then, I haven't found a site which logs IP addresses of visitors for anyone to view. All the sites regarding viewing IP addresses just show your own IP as it would be nigh impossible to select and know for sure of someone's IP if many people connect at once). Scriptkiddies always make me laugh. They're hellbent on making themselves look big and tough using a mysterious script they just googled but can't tell anyone what it does, but they're a disgrace to computing, programming and Pen. testing. They're fuelled by empty threats and on the other side, it disheartens me to think that people will fall for this. Regarding him 'haxxoring' your router, you probably didn't need to ipconfig your way out. Most, if not all routers, have Web Access disabled(which, in other words, he's just guessing numbers and seeing where it takes him which would be amusing if you changed your router's login IP to something non-default) anyway for security purposes (much like how Windows disables remote desktop controls by default). He wouldn't be able to do shit. You didn't click the link, he didn't get an IP, he can't root out your IP from a Steam chat window and any pen testing tools he'd find by googling can only be used on local networks. You said it yourself, Scriptkiddies really are retarded. I would probably need medical attention from contracting a collapsed lung from laughing too much if the 'script' he googled actually hacked his router and any commands he sends across, buggers his own router. [sp]I should really stop ranting about these things. I'm interested in the whole security side of computing and am studying programming at Uni so I have an understanding of programming and code but kiddos like this really get on my wick when they start acting like a big man on campus but they don't know shit. Gives programmers and the like a bad name.[/sp]
To be honest, I've yet to find a means to get an IP through Steam chat alone.
doesn't the voice chat thing still work send them a voice chat and use wireshark or something to find the ip
doesn't the voice chat thing still work send them a voice chat and use wireshark or something to find the ip
I always believed Wireshark was for viewing connections from a system on the local network (People used it to view what their consoles were doing and to mod GTA Online) not for a system located outside the network. Could be wrong though.
wireshark shows sources, destinations + local connections made on the network.
You learn something new every day... Although in saying that, you could probably give a false IP by running Steam through a VPN like Hotspot Shield as that traffic is encrypted (if it thwarts ISPs using Deep Packet Inspection, it'll stop a script kiddy discovering how to network sniff).
I had some guy randomly add me this now. Not sure if it was his use of the english language that was mangled, or if he really was trying to beg/scam.
Heal (zemnmez) is pretty good. I go on mumble with him but he mostly does scammer cases. It's easy to say it out loud and get him to do things though.
Yes, when him and sneeza where at helens , we skyped. I rapped various n.w.a songs to him, when I added him he called me "the rapper"

its not as funny if you don't show the hat :V
It was a peace sign reggaelator and the theme was just "Bob Marley" I really don't get it
It was a peace sign reggaelator and the theme was just "Bob Marley" I really don't get it
As I understand, Bob Marley was against war so there's that but assuming everything related to dreadlocks are associated with Bob Marley is idiotic (as that trader has shown).
As I understand, Bob Marley was against war so there's that but assuming everything related to dreadlocks are associated with Bob Marley is idiotic (as that trader has shown).
Eh, it's a decent name but not an excuse to call it themed.
Eh, it's a decent name but not an excuse to call it themed.
Your avatar scares me. Also some dude trades me and puts some stuff on the trade window. Doesn't say shit. After 10mins he says "you want", nothing interests me. He begs me to buy something. Calls me a cunt and leaves. Wat.
As I understand, Bob Marley was against war so there's that but assuming everything related to dreadlocks are associated with Bob Marley is idiotic (as that trader has shown).
idk it's a pretty reasonable theme if you ask me
idk it's a pretty reasonable theme if you ask me
Green confetti is a better theme tho
For me it would be either Smoking Reggae or nothing.
that's a funny way to spell green black whole aka the best effect

They see you got keys and metal and immediately think they can use you as a cash cow, then get butt-hurt when they don't get their way.
that's a funny way to spell green black whole aka the best effect
Also one of the most expensives. And it's not available on my favorite hat :c
As I recall back in past , people were calling the flies fez themed, cus Arabs are "dirty" :| But whatever ,I also called some hats themed back in past (when the planet effect was brand new ,I unboxed myself a tricorne planet and called it Space Pirate themed :v:)
How does the same phisher keep adding me. I blocked him twice and then the same one adds me a third time.
that's a funny way to spell green black whole aka the best effect
That's a funny way to spell Green Black Hole
