So, situation as normal then. Seems like every week there's someone claiming the next update is next week
well no one really expected them to pull a "latest summer update ever",which is a situation far from normal, which is so many are expecting it next week now.
So, even if we call Smissmas 2016 a "major" update, does that make this the longest major update drought in TF2 history?

Also, i heard that Blades map Banana Bay has been hit by downvote bots at the workshop. The stupidity from CSGO workshop seems to have arrived to TF2 too :-(
the thought of cp_orange being higher rated than Banana Bay disgusts me on every level.
cp_orange and its thousand variants all disgust me, you cannot make such a terrible map good.
At this point the only thing I can think they are working on is fixing bugs and such. Hopefully we will see a massive amount of performance improvements.

Look at all those happy faces! They are probably very happy to know that [DEL]even Battleborn, a game that is literally struggling to maintain player numbers over 200 players RIGHT NOW, had more gameplay mechanics get changed/tweaked on and head onto the livebuild of the game in a year than Team Fortress 2, and that was even BEFORE THE FREE2PLAY SHIFT was even a thing. They still pulled out a update literally today that did more in a week than this game has had in 6 whole fucking months, and thats even including the absolutely lazy excuse for content that was the Holiday and Rainy Day cases. Speaking of content, Speculations schmeckulation, this wait is getting bonkers, what are the devs even doing right now? What is the major holdup that is making them just basically say 'These things, they take time so just wait and put in your fixes to (INSERT THING HERE) soon okay, love you bye!' in the emails? Is it crunch time or fucking snack time over there in the office? Like my god, at least release more patch notes or something! It's not that hard to release the updated patch notes (since they totally took the community ideas to heart in the last few weeks), or more patch notes at all! Is there some big change in the patch notes that apparently is SO TOP SECRET that they can't show us? Or is it just because they got caught with their pants down AGAIN?[/DEL] its been a full year of fun times!
I honestly don't think the tf team is going to wait a month just for map makers to finish their maps, especially with the number of good maps that are already on the workshop. My guess is that they ran into a pretty bad bug when they were testing and are just trying to find time to fix it. This explains why it seems like they're still in crunch mode and why VNN's questions haven't been answered. If this is true, I believe they'll start taking map submissions as soon as they're done fixing the bug, which hopefully won't be too long.

Well a least the community left some nice words in his profile to help him out ;)
Annoying... terrifying...

As for the VAC bans, none were for tf2, right?

Witch-hunting is not really necessary.

I've tracked some hackers profiles i met before, no VAC so i assume nothing happened on tf2 side.

You know, I rated this funny, but it hurts on the inside.
Call it hindsight but I didn't really expect Valve to try and get the update out before the year mark. After all these are the same people who celebrated the 119th Update because shit happens.

holy shit thats a really old pose i made [sp]it even has my facepunch name in the corner wishing me happy birthday[/sp]
I'm still confident the update, or at least some substantial information, will come within the month. But that said, Christ, this is really reminding me how much I fucking despise Valve's dumbass mindset as a developer. Everything has to be a monumental world-changing event incomprehensible by the minds of mere mortals. Every release must be a grand magnum opus that would bring even the hardest souls to weep tears of joy. You can't just, say, tweak some numbers or add a map or two every month or so; you've just gotta reinvent the wheel every single time.
It's like scope creep on a company-wide scale, and it's fucking retarded.
Can we get a Valve employee to confirm that this update will indeed be neato as well?
Hi, new here. I really do hope the jungle/pyro update releases this month. Do you have any thoughts on when it might release?

Real talk though I literally google'd [sp]sad birthday tf2[/sp] and it was the first result.

we really have no idea, we're just speculating.
welcome to the forum i guess, start lurking/reading threads for now

Man neato can fuck right off. The only thing that was really neato about MVM was casual, and even then it had 8 quotation marks around it when it finally went live.
Honestly, I don't really care how long the new Pyro update takes. As long as I know that we will be getting new weapons that aren't just reskins like the previous updates, I am satisfied.

Things I actually want:
- Balances.
- Some cool as fuck maps.
- New features and advanced options to mess around with.
- Actually noticeable fixes that polish the rough edges of the game.
Pyro can fuck off for all I care.
If the workshop creators still have no idea when the update is dropping then I'm starting to think this update is quite a long while away.
I am starting to believe in August or later too tbh.

Item creators don't know until everyone else does. Map makers get a nebulous idea of when an update might land, but nothing concrete.

I actually don't really care all that much about the jungle theme. I can always go on community servers [del]that don't exist unless it's 2fort or VSH[/del] to play custom maps, and I don't have any ideas on new features I would like. Well, that may be because I play Pyro a lot.
Things I want in a update:
-A map. Just one would do
-A actual date
-a functioning stable game update, and not a nearly completely falling apart update like a CERTAIN UPDATE
-Big fixes to cameras
-Weapons
Both jungle and pyro can fall in a hole, I would like a bit of a polish update with some fun extras a bit more.
I was kind of assuming that after that blog post, it would take maybe 3 to 4 weeks of extra work based on everyone's suggestions, it honestly felt like they were implying that they'd wait for the e-mails, and then try to work out something. So maybe a release near the end of July or the beginning of August isn't so far fetched.
Every time I see this thread with the high browsing count I'm expecting the update to finally be here and get disappointed every time.
It might dip when it drops cause people will play/ read about it
I mean, or later is far worse, but at August, there have been no updates released that month (except MvM, which took a while, hope this one doesn't)
