Valve should probably require at least a couple of games played in casual or comp for votes to count.

I saw that recently after watching the latest VNN vid talking about jungle maps. Really glad to see it happen.
Speaking of which, I kind of want to play those maps after watching the VNN video but his server is fairly difficult to get into. Anyone know off hand if there any other reliable servers running those maps perhaps? Generally that are active of course and preferably east coast of the United States?

Probably requiring a profile level of 1 and above like many other Steam features would be a good approach
[thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/spread.jpg[/thumb]
[DEL]The apparent tighter spread is more than likely simply a side-effect of the Ambassador's slower firing speed. Since you are forced to wait longer between shots, it will inherently be more precise when continuously firing. The same thing should apply to the Enforcer.
EDIT: Although looking at Contra's video now, it does seem odd that the Enforcer had a larger spread than the Ambassador. Perhaps it's linked to the headshot attribute, since that attribute's classname is 'set_weapon_mode', so it's possible it changes something related to weapon spread in addition to allowing headshots.[/DEL]
EDIT2: I was operating under the assumption that all bullet spread was how the Ambassador works, since that does seem like the most intuitive behaviour, but apparently not. I should've just watched the video first.
I'm going to have to test this with added inaccuracy attributes later, this is rather bizzare to me.
Funfact: The 100% accurate first shot every 1.25s mechanic didn't exist before the August 21st, 2009 update, with the exception of the Ambassador which had its own special spread like today.

Crash has done Overgrown testing on his server before: 192.223.30.133:27015
I've played some of the Jungle maps on the Penny Arcade server before but that's not active all the time: 66.55.149.225:27015
And of course the TF2maps.net servers run them sometimes too but you get a wide range of in development maps, I doubt you'll see too much jungle map testing at this point since most of them are finished or nearly finished: 66.150.214.251:27015
So are we all relying that the update will probably hit august or late july. Because i'm thinking that's my only last hope of patient for this update. I'm saving literally 150$ valve, i want to see if this update is worth using this money for that new crate.
You'd be better off saving 20 bucks and just spending that cash elsewhere tbh.
Just save 5$ and sell new crates.
Ditto. You should get some nasty profit on the first day selling the new crates.
I used to but I can´t be arsed to get the authenticiator.
If nothing happens this week then I am settling my hopes on August.
There is still half a month left after this week you are settling for August, even though we established long ago that the move isn't nearly as impactful as we all thought. There is no reason to rule out next, or last week of July.
I'm raising my hopes for tonight.
If we're looking at 2-day release, then they have to either release it today or tomorrow, and if it doesn't happen we can just rule out this week as the week

Taunt uploads have been too inconsistent to use as a rule of thumb.
Sometimes there is no sight of any taunts incoming and they update the playlist mere minutes before the Update, sometimes you have them lingering around for 4 days.
Personally im just stalking the process of Overgrown, the map looks so good, I doubt it won't make it in.
Crash recently uploaded the rc3 version of the map, seems like it's still in development.
Or is this the final release version we are going to get tomorrow officially in the game :tinfoil:

rc mean release candidate, I'm pretty sure that means it's ready for implementation with minor tweaks needed.

Don't worry, all I'm saying is that I've looked at a bunch of Jungle Maps, and most of them are in release-state - meaning the Update shouldnt be delayed because of, well, that - if it is delayed and not coming tonight

Yup they were there a day before but private

I did some play testing on RC2 and it was basically done aside from 2 minor issues that were fixed on RC3 (the lighting was too dark and blu non blast jumpers needed a way to get to the alcove area above the first point so blu had a way to attack the first point from above because it was really hard for blu to get a good angle of attack).
I wouldn't be surprised if RC3 is the last version (unless it goes official and people find bugs or exploits to fix).
Wait what happened to my title lol
I mean, it is better..

I don't care about the Sandman nerf, to be fair, but it's still the same weapon. It can be used pretty much the same as it was before, but it's just slightly less effective than it used to be.
The proposed changes to the Ambassador ensure that most of your shots are going to miss at and past 1024 HUs [...]
You're a melee assassin, not a sniper. Spies shouldn't be able to headshot at all, that's not their gimmick. Their gimmick is invisibility and instant melee kills.
The fact spies can headshot (and that you don't have the same amount of drawbacks a sniper has resulting from that ability) is outright frustrating. You don't sacrifice anything (lower firing speed is not much of a drawback when you can 2-hit almost all classes over the span of 2 seconds anyway, neither is the damage reduction if you get x3 damage anyway) to get sniper's special ability but with a bit less damage...
... except the sniper is subject to tunnel vision, while spies see everything just fine and get headshots at roughly the same rate a sniper does (bolt reload time for sniper vs 1sec cooldown for headshotting)
Edit:
You try to invalidate other classes' mains' complaining but you complain in the exact same way, except "YOU are right and they are wrong"... Really? :/
I've seen some interestingly odd naming regarding maps and naming maps is hard with all their endings and such.
Some people go a1-a78 or similiar never even ending up to b1 because they lose interest.
There is the forever beta stage, such as b1, and never that map is going to be finished more.
Then there is the RC stage, where you release rc1, rc2 or so, call it done. Swiftwater creator ran out of rc's so he even went _frc14 (final release candidate) at naming.
After RC stage, you might go the the final stage where you call your map _final and done. Never going to touch it ....except when your map goes official (ala cp_freight_final1, cp_snakewater_final1, cp_gullywash_final1 and pl_swiftwater_final1)
Personally i had 100 versions of one map and since i wasted and remade another map 3 times which caused 3 name changes, since i wasted all the names above. Making maps is hard. You are never satisfied on your work untill it's really done.
I need someone to debunk this if possible. I was sent info from two different sources about a server named "Valve Matchmaking Server Frankfurt #4", it was unlocked and allowed users to connect. It was playing a map named test.bsp, I was sent the map:

This is a fake server with some kids map right?
...From a position of complete safety behind his team/in spawn, far outside the effective ranges of 8 of the 9 classes, with the ability to one-shot all overhealed enemies, and for that matter instantly quickscope the health of 5 regardless of range?
Gee, why would anything like that need counterplay.
Effectively out of range? So why is it that every pyro ever likes to run scorch shot? Why is it so difficult to 1v1 a revolver spy without the smg? *scout shoots you with scatter from across the map*... *scope hops*
I think you lack the knowledge to counter snipers. I'm sure you're capable of doing at least one of the above...
Here's a bonus...
Did you know the Direct Hit / LNL is pretty good at countering snipers? Just learn to take into account the time it takes for a sniper to descope and move left or right. There's a good chance you'll one shot him.
gee its almost as if theres supposed to be downside to the ability to instakill at any range
I would think aim discipline is a fairly good downside. Most people can't do the flashy quick scope 360 shit. If we wanna talk about something without downsides, lets talk about Pyro in a 1v1 at close range with just about any class. I honestly can't think of any downsides Pyro has in this situation. In fact, Pyro will most always benefit from being shot at point blank by explosive classes.

What would Valve be doing with a maze...? More than likely fake.
That's almost a given that it's fake, casual/matchmaking servers (whatever you wanna call it) aren't even named like that.

Looks like a maze for rats... We're just a bunch of testing rats for Valve! All they do is test stuff on us to make more profit!
Where are my tinfoil hats!?

Pyro update: tons of new maze maps so Pyro actually has a chance to get close before being obliterated.
Pyro update: tons of new maze maps so Pyro actually has a chance to get close before being obliterated.
so the Pyro update will make the Pyro become a Horror Antagonist?
Prediction: Pyro is no longer a playable character. Instead, the Pyro is an NPC who stalks you in mazes in an official implementation of Slender Fortress.

you can simulate that by finding an F2P pyro on the enemy team, getting it to notice you, and walking away from it.
