I understand how this can be confusing, specially during these times. We never planned to mislead people. In fact, we planned to release the video prior to Valve's Jungle update, rather than when they release the update, to avoid even further possibilites of confusion.

With that in mind, the countdown page has been updated, which will hopefully clarify things a bit more.

The only way tonight might still happen if they seemingly abandon the "day1/2/3" Updates.

Which is understandable, given they
A. often get leaked, ruining the surprise
B. often literally dont work out with the Update instead having to release both days at the same time.

I'm putting lotsa faith into next week.

i think it's more likely to be a gun mettle/mym style release with a day 1 reveal and a day 2 release

if this update is as big as they say it is, it would be pretty cool if it was a week long multi-day update like the [URL="http://www.teamfortress.com/sniper_vs_spy/day01_english.htm"]sniper vs. spy[/URL] or [URL="http://www.teamfortress.com/war/part1/index.htm"]war![/URL] updates of old, showing off just 1 or 2 pieces of new content a day and giving us time to focus on each one, all the while building up more and more attention and hype until release a week later

i don't think i'd mind [I]at all[/I] a confirmed whole week of waiting if it had a buildup like that

They wouldnt have told mappers to finish their stuff asap if the update was still 3 months away. The entire reason people are clinging to July is because of those two Blog Posts.

Also why I feel like next week smells good for the Update to come.

I'm not trying to make anyone here upset but 9/10 times There is a Pre-Update before the real one the same day of a Major Update.

So unless we get that by like 2-3 Pacific time it will not be today.
