This build is 4 years old. As others have said, very likely to be a "final testing" developer version of TF2 used for Updates and the like, the "Prep" should be enough of a hint for that.

Checking out the History reveals that it gets changed rarely, however as of late the amount of changes to it increased - it having changed 4 days ago might aswell be a good signal that the Jungle Update is very close.
However we also have to consider this:

Given that it's TF2, though, I do believe it's a sign of life.

"visited Valve after they moved to an office in Bellevue"
And back in January Gabe said "Yes. We move into the new offices on July 22nd." http://www.valvetime.net/threads/valves-moving-to-a-new-much-larger-office.256815/
Seems to imply the moving has already started and should finish sometime around the 22nd
In other words if the move is having an impact on the TF2 team we probably shouldn't expect anything until after the 22nd? I could be completely wrong with all of this of course.

Is it possible that the tf2 team already moved ?
Should ask OP when exactly she visited so we can correlate our "3 days ago" steamDB TF2 prep.
regarding the winglet
if it is an easter egg, it could mean week commencing July 16th?

It's not going to take the TF team an entire damn week to move offices, it's not like everyone in the company is moving at the same time.
I'd expect the downtime for any specific team to be a day. They pack up their personal items, go to the new place, and set up.
Moves themselves take months. It's mostly planning, setting up the new place, and cleaning out the old place. Barely any of this will be done by the development teams.

Stttooppppp trying to correlate a community project with the official release there is absolutely no tangible evidence for it to mean anything and given their communication there is actually more proof they would never do such a thing
Valve is going to cost me 200 keys aren't they
We seriously are all just going insane and stir crazy at this point.
I actualy cannot wait for the moment of sweet relief when we are finnaly going to get the update.. mm

Nothing will be done unless the snack bar dedicated floor is completed.

That the update will be released before July 22nd
[sp] what'll you do with your cut? [/sp]
I hope it isnt mext week, just in case the roadmap thing is true. As painful as waiting is I want them to take their time and get it right. Ill wait.

They had more than an entire year - they took their time.
Next week boys.
They had more than an entire year - they took their time.
Well with what they said to the mapmakers abot deadlines, if rather just be patient.
Is it possible that the tf2 team already moved ?
If true, this would be one of the upsides of having a smaller TF2 team.
When the update finally drops, open your window and listen for various hollers and sighs of relief. Collectively so loud they can be heard the world over from this purgatory of waiting.

I can't believe I have to mention this for the 3rd time now: This statement means nothing as Valve contacted map developers even days before Updates - not to forget the Email is almost 2 weeks old now, for all we know they chose the Maps already.

Congratulations! I've sent you a friend request, accept your loot.
And you know what? This week was just for funsies, that Steamdb change gave me the confidence that next week is indeed the faithful week, here's another one. If next week ain't the week, someone is gonna get these Items.

Rate Wrench to participate, Winner gets the Item above - and as a bonus...

wasn't the steamDB thing 4 years old to begin with?
on a side note, that title is one of the most bizarre things i've seen in awhile.
With the steamDB thing, I have some faith that next week is the week. Another aspect that gives me faith is the "Balance Changes" blog post. How I see it, the update is no more than one month away from the posting of the blog.

You are correct, however the fact that it updated very very recently, is another thing.
The straws are firmly grasped in both hands it seems.
Did nobody read the disclaimer about inactive apps that haven't been touched in months?

This is more of a dream than a reality, but...
Wasn't tf2 ported to Source 2013 around 4 years ago? Which means that (being extremely optimistic) it could be a port to source 2?
Don't take this seriously, it's just a coincidence.
[editline]14th July 2017[/editline]
Just another quick post - it appears that [Prep] Team Fortress 2 app on SteamDB is now gone.
Nah, I don't expect a Source2 for TF2 unless it was a last ditch effort to save a it. It is doing fine as is, but Source2 would be nice with all the possibilities it would bring.
What I would like to see is a blog post telling people to check out Winglet's Mayan SFM. They deserve a nice wave of new followers.
