What makes people think that the TF Team working on "one of the biggest updates ever" is a sign of ending support for TF2?
Do a big update, and if it fails basically give up? is probably whats running through the tf2 team's heads
that would be the case if these are people assigned to the project, not people that willingly want to work on it y'all need to realise that that team of nerds working on the game is insanely passionate about it.
How would a hitscan flamethrower work anyways? Has anyone made a demonstration of that?
not trying to insinuate anything but i imagine it would play similarly to mei's endothermic blaster in Overwatch
Do a big update, and if it fails basically give up? is probably whats running through the tf2 team's heads
Last year when Valve released their end of year list of games that earned the most revenue on Steam TF2 was in the second highest tier (each tier had around 12 games and weren't in order), despite having a poorly relieved summer update, a Halloween update that was a rehash of the previous year and a Christmas update with no new gameplay content or balance changes. The Pyro/Jungle update is pretty hyped, has a lot of great features like new Pyro weapons, (hopefully) a fixed comp matchmaking, a new Valve map, non stock redskins and a new SFM short that will likely generate a lot of interest in TF2. The update will do fine financially.
theres not really any question about the financial success about the update, the question is will valve execute it well enough to not be a disappointment to the players
not trying to insinuate anything but i imagine it would play similarly to mei's endothermic blaster in Overwatch
Zaryas particle cannon would be better I think
Zaryas particle cannon would be better I think
While the physics of mei's endothermic blaster make more sense, I could see something like Zarya's particle cannon being a new weapon or maybe even a rework of the phlog. It'd be a interesting way to make it a less WM1 weapon, at least.
The last thing tf2 needs is anything like mei.
I think Valve in general has dropped the ball when it comes to inciting and giving room for speculation from their fans. If the team is in last stand right now, I hope they consider removing sv_pure / reasons to play on Official over Community servers before throwing it to the dogs.
I don't think it's Valve in last stand mode, it's more the community.
If the Community leaves than TF2 is as good as Dead, so yes Last Stand, and yes Fix sv_pure or down right remove it
Removing sv_pure 1 from casual servers alone would skyrocket my opinion of the update as a whole.
The last thing tf2 needs is anything like mei.
Okay? No one suggested giving pyro any of her abilities :v: [editline]value[/editline] Please point me to where anyone said pyro should have anything other then just the particle mechanics of her ice gun.

new thread smell
new thread smell
It's like taking an old, rusty car that's barely running and dumping a bucket of new paint on top of it
hopefully its not lime paint.
Oh.
Oh.
Okay now I'm REALLY confused about the update's release
Oh.
Either no update untill Sep or it's first thing in the monday. In my vision of it.
Oh.
The wait for this update is like a never-ending roller coaster ride, jesus.
The impending move was a rational explanation as to why the update is so late. Now that the move is off the table I have to wonder what the hold up is.
Huh. Well, when the update will drop is truly up in the air now.
so does this mean toweek COULD be the week?
so does this mean toweek COULD be the week?
I still doubt it but who the fuck knows anymore.
The impending move was a rational explanation as to why the update is so late. Now that the move is off the table I have to wonder what the hold up is.
I don't believe we know when the delay happened or why, so it's possible they were expecting the move and therefore decided to hold off on the update, not expecting it to suddenly be until September. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Do we even have confirmation it'll be in September? All we have is a single line of text from Valve Time.
