Also the reason why the DR is primarily used not in a way of deceiving, but as a way of, well, just getting past, a second "life" - is because it sucks at that.
He drops an ammo pack that isn't real, when cloaking as a team-mate (afaik) he drops a spy corpse.
Fix both of these things and you've got yourself a real feign death.
There's a lot more than that. Ragdoll behavior, hit-sounds, plus just the general difficulty in feigning at a plausible time are still barriers to belief.
And if it could become believable, truly indistinguishable from a real death, then competent players will be forced to assume that every spy death is feigned. I don't know if that's a great thing for TF2.
False domination / revenge notifications in the feed, the Spy being shown as dead for only a split second on the standard HUD...
I don't see the Rescue Ranger change being too much of a problem for Engineers that camp their dispensers anyway.
If you play engineer properly (that is, dispenser for teammates, not you) and you don't constantly sit in it, the nerf actually hits you a bit. I can't tell how much it'll impact it before I get to play it, but I do have concerns about this.
Engineers that camp dispensers might as well turtle...

every spy death is already assumed feigned since running invis is super rare in pub settings
One thing I hope we get someday is a loadout system similar to this

The old loadout system is trash and its a chore to keep swapping weapons and cosmetics as well as taunts.

I know you're just joking about the Dead Ringer's popularity, but we agree that it's almost always obvious whether a death is real or fake, regardless of equipped watch, right?

I do know how to tell the difference, yeah, but even when I run Invis most people don't seem to believe they actually killed me, which is hilarious
The b4nny video has a very interesting bit.

"I have seen this list for months, talking to Valve."
This can mean a lot of things, and might aswell completely shift our expectations for the release time.

That's because the feigned death does work properly sometimes, without the ragdoll phasing into the earth.

I don't think it really means anything, ever since Valve has moved TF2 in a more comp focused direction they seems to be consulting B4nny for early weapon change feedback. Consulting one of the the top comp TF2 players isn't a bad thing. I don't think the amount of time B4nny has had access to the list is a big deal either, I'm sure that some of these changes were planned for Christmas and weapon changes are probably something the TF2 team starts to consider shorty after shipping a balance patch since the feedback starts rolling in right away.

I also sometimes have an issue with my kill sound not playing when a spy uses the DR.
It's really weird because I can't figure out the cause and it doesn't always happen but when it does it happens for the entire round.

And a 4th cosmetic slot.
And a 4th cosmetic slot.
no
And a 4th cosmetic slot.
Canteen / Spell book slot has been there for years though, and does technically qualify as a 4th cosmetic slot since some of the items can be visibly seen on the player in game.
And a 4th cosmetic slot.
Do you want everyone's computer to lag to shit? 3 cosmetics are fine
Bonus: (Valve, fix the Engineer and Scout animations. They should play at 30 fps instead.)
This is so freaking cool. Interesting that it's pretty similar to what I thought for a while, upgrading TF2 viewmodel anims so they include the class's personality.
But damn, Pass Time had so much work done, and it shows more and more as we see new stuff. It's a shame Valve shoved it to the Alternative Game Modes section.
oh, i was wondering why my video on these animations were getting alot of traffic only recently. thanks i guess?
I hope they try atleast a bit to improve the performance.
dx10 support when
Just messaged Valve and let them know how happy I am as a frequent heavy player that I'll no longer be one-two comboed by Sandman/Guillotine scouts so effectively, or headshot from across the entire map over and over again by the same damn Spy.

No problem! I also posted it on Reddit.
I'm surprised nobody posted the B4nny Analysis/Reaction of the balance blog post. He did a pretty good job on the analysis of the balance changes.

Oh god, that reminds me of a glitch I had one time where whenever I inspected my skinned SMG it would play that animation, I was wondering where the hell it was from.
Not to mention, maybe they'd be interested in adding community animations for new weapons based off this, lots of potential here.
The day dx8 support for the game dies, is the day we can finally move on from the Stone Age of optimization
The Steam Sale has begun and has a Sticker book that also have game characters (Saw an Outline that was basically Wilson from Don't Starve!)
Are there any TF2 ones?

This might be a long shot, but with the city field one, the silhouette of the one running almost looks like Pyro
when cloaking as a team-mate (afaik) he drops a spy corpse.
It used to drop the teammate corpse. Might be bugged now, idk.

that looks like pyro, and there is another in that set that looks like a rj'ing soldier. there may also be a scout playing baseball on the one with two farm houses.
The day dx8 support for the game dies, is the day we can finally move on from the Stone Age of optimization
considering a massive ammount of players ironically use dx8 to gain frames, that must certainly be messing with their data.

Agreed, albeit with the limited amount of tf2 programmers I don't see DX9's exclusive support being any better
-------------------
also off topic but why are there 108 viewers and climbing if nothing is happening
