if nothing happens within the next 12 minutes or so, it's doubtful anything else will happen tonight i think

Can I wear this with the Cage on pyro, Cage the Elephant. I'll leave now.
with the huge number of taunts in the game now, and more being added each update, here's hoping for a better taunt menu
also, buying an all class taunt and having to equip it 36 times is just annoying
More loadout presets please
theres still time for a blog post, right?
What are we even expecting from another blog post?

The rest of the planned balancing that they've only shown a portion of?

I feel like we've probably seen the vast majority of individual weapon rebalances, and the rest of what we're going to see are class-wide changes (especially to Pyro and his weapons)
I don't think we'll get another balance blog post 'til the update releases proper, wherewe'll see what (if anything) they did with the feedback given to the first blog post and the rest of what they have in store for us.
If you want to keep hype intact, monitor the TF2 YouTube channel and wait for unlisted videos to go live. A few of them are likely to be taunts, and one of them may be the new short. IIRC, this happened just prior to the release of MyM, Tough Break and Gun Mettle.
"Soon, get ready!" already happened though. 2 Weeks ago, it was the Jungle Update one telling people to, you know, get their stuff ready.
ready-up blogposts happen within minutes to 1-day before the release. there has been alot of those in tf2's history.
the jungle thing was merely an up-to-date poke

I would hope it's not the vast majority; maybe half, but not the vast majority. We'll have been waiting over a full year with no major update, so they better have been making the most of their time.

More plans for the update, balances, and a possible countdown.

Yeah, I really hope the TF2 team has taken the time to rebalance not just the problematic weapons, mostly covered in this blogpost, but also the numerous near-useless weapons in the game (most of Heavy's weapons, Medic's needleguns, Demoman's not-eyelander melee weapons, etc etc).
I'd love to play Heavy with some more powerful toys.
Cool, in exactly one week Meet your Match will be one year old.

I imagine at the very least many pyro weapons will get a rework.
I'm hoping Valve also buffs the Bison, does a rework of the Pomson to remove the uber/cloak drain, and maybe buff the needleguns.
I have issues with several weapons they didn't remotely touch upon in the blogpost, even though it isn't the complete list of changes
The Baby Face's Blaster is borderline useless because the entire upside of the weapon is negated by 25 damage. It's weird, because the gun is designed to be better for dodging damage, but it punishes you way too hard for even taking a little bit. You need to deal 4 times more damage than you need to take in order for you to consistently even out your boost.
I really want to see the Manmelter and Axtinguisher get buffed because those weapons are in really bad shape, even though the Manmelter has decent stats. I know we haven't seen the Pyro balances, but I'm crossing my fingers that those two will be in the spotlight.
The fact that Heavy's guns are so stupidly useless is actually quite saddening to me. There's effectively no reason to run any of his shotguns over his Sandvich, and you're just constantly making olympic sprints to ammo packs when you play with the Huo-Long Heater. Don't even get me started on the Warrior's Spirit.
I'm also afraid that the Danger shield will be underused after this balance update--and you might say good riddance--because it counters such a specific type of damage. Jarate also counters fire damage very well, plus it will make the target receive mini-crits.

the fun part of your post is all the guns you mentioned were perfectly fine on their first incarnation

Hey, it takes a long time to come up with and implement balance changes that the community have suggested and submitted for the last 4 years

TF2 could benefit so much from some periodic minor balance patches like the ones they do in Dota.
Big patch just came out and now X weapon is OP and Y weapon is in a really bad spot? Then have a small patch containing some small buffs for Y and some nerfs for X.
But nope, we gotta wait almost a year to get some balance changes.
-snip- shit gimmick
For real, I seriously think it's closer than we expect.
I hope they don't let the game pass the 1 year anniversary of MyM...
Besides, it's the (mentioned often in this thread) first week of July, so hype, maybe? :3
guy who works on a game is playing that game. In other news, the ocean is wet.
I expect a "Pyro Update is Coming Soon!" post on Wednesday, followed by the actual blog/update to release the day after. Dunno if that's being too optimistic, but having it on the 1 year anniversary of MyM would be kinda nice.

please update quoted post to snip out the shit gimmick thank you
also yes, blogpost saying to start up the hype trains would be neat.

Oh, you mean that kind of ready up post.
The 4th my man - I follow the path of Blackavar.
I truly believe this will be the last weekend we'll have to suffer through.
I wish they did an update for just cleaning up code and bugs and such. Just all the small stuff that won't even be noticeable to the players but would help the tf team in the future a lot.
Like, I guess they do this to some extent in every update, but just one dedicated to it.
There is only one bug I want them to fix, make spies able to hold a shotgun as a disguise weapon. I send them an email every 3 months, but no luck. I know it's an insignificant issue, but it really-really bothers me for some dumb reason.

An update called the scout update where all it does is optimize the game and fix bugs would be pretty funny.

Let's have a lil vote:
Agree if you think the TF Team will make us reach the 1 year anniversary of sadness
Disagree if the Update will be announced/released prior to that.

I mean you're pretty much the only one who didn't believe the whole "yearly update" thing
