It still is weird though, because the TF2 playlist on Valve's channel has all of the Meet the Team videos except for Pyro and Medic, while their favorites do have both Meet the Pyro and Medic (because those were uploaded to teamfortress rather than Valve).
So why would they upload a video to the Valve YouTube channel rather than the Team Fortress one?
This is weird.
On second thought it cant have been added; otherwise the playlist edit date woulda been today.
I heard some folk say that this playlist always have a private video; can anyone confirm that?

Damn, I guess we weren't onto something after all.
Oh, you mean that kind of ready up post.
The 4th my man - I follow the path of Blackavar.
I truly believe this will be the last weekend we'll have to suffer through.
How flattering.
It's still a video we haven't seen.

But considering nothing TF2-related has been uploaded to the Valve channel since 2011, and the playlist being updated in 2016, I wouldn't hope for something to be revealed anytime soon related to that.
It's a new Valve VR demo video where the user gets .05% less nauseous after 10 minutes of standing still in an empty room.
Only $699.99 to upgrade!
If it doesn't come on the week of the 10th then my bet is on August.

Why such a late estimation?
What does "late" even mean anymore?
It's better than an early one that turns out to be wrong.

Valve moves to their new offices relatively soon, reportedly around the 22nd of next month. I can't imagine the skeleton crew that works on TF2 pushing an update within the weeks surrounding this.

STILL they wouldn't release an update for summer that late. but, what the hell do I know, it could come out this october for all we know.

I know this is a shitpost but you should be aware that the vive doesn't have any nausea issues and you clearly have no actual knowledge of anything regarding vr that isn't tired memes
Does he have to? He has a right to resent Valve for abandoning traditional game development. He enjoys their IPs, but he isn't particularly captivated by an experimental technology with an untested market.
Valve is partially responsible for cultivating this sentiment, since they're leaving large quantities of otherwise dedicated fans in the dust.

Yes, I do expect criticism of something to be based on actual truths instead of regurgitated memes that have no basis in reality.
You should stop projecting your criticisms of the vive onto his opinions. He didn't say what you're saying, so the expectation that I'd respond to something he didn't say is a bit silly, no?
You act as if I never have discussions with the man. Moreover, it doesn't take a lot of insight to uncover the mindset behind the memes.

This is patently untrue. Motion sickness issues with VR have more to do with the wetware (the person experiencing it) and the game/software. A quick google search will turn up buckets of results of people getting sick from the Vive. It may be that the Vive induces nausea in its users at a much lower rate than the Rift or other such devices, but it is certainly not without motion sickness problems. A friend of mine canceled his Vive order for that very reason.
With my experience of Vive, Occulus and minorly PSVR. Being able to move somewhat prevents most motion sickness and the Occulus hits me like a brick wall almost 10 seconds in.
It's the movement you're seeing without any feedback that causes it, as even letting you move around in a little space helps but let's say if the game lets me move at will wherever with directions it feels alien and knocks me sick.
However I got used to it on most of the games I played after experimenting for a good minute, but most people don't have the stomach to try for that long.

while that might be true, the Vive has almost non of that issues, this mostly comes from lower refresh rates/view angles of other VR headsets, also in 90% of the cases it's the game to blame not the headset, for example if a game allowed you to move using controls (keyboard controller etc) instead of moving your head changing what you see will definitely get you headaches.
with that said I don't have much experience with VR so I could be wrong, non of that stuff is available here besides crappy gear vr stuff, can't afford it anyway.
Seeing as how the TF2 team still hasn't answered the VNN questions and they said they would do it before the update I have my doubts we'll get the update next week unless they either changed their mind about answering the questions before the update or we get the answers either Monday or Wednesday and the update Thursday or Friday.
After seeing how many high profile mappers suddenly uploaded or updated their map submissions to the workshop, i think valve is just waiting for what comes out of them. They may have had few maps in mind but there are some really good looking candidates out there among the new ones everything goes off the table.
I just hope the maps aren't going to be a slam dunk, which means that they pick those in the last moment and implement into the "campaign" without even having them tied no other way to the update (such as have some new achievements implemented on those maps).
So, the update will most likely be this thursday? anybody think it will come sooner/later? On top of that, what exactly happened on their youtube channel? Any real reason why old shorts would be updated?

Different video. The meet the pyro video isn't private on the teamfortress channel. Its always been private on the valve channel.
This is something that one guy who didn't realize this just noticed. And because this community is so freakin' desperate to grasp at straws, it trended instantly on reddit.
I'm not even sure what to think anymore.
They aren't the same video.

I'm pretty sure Fr0z3nr posted on TF2 maps some time ago that Valve wasn't sure if they were going to keep the campaign maps in the game forever which is probably why they didn't add any achievements for them.
At this point I think it's pretty clear that they are going to keep campaign maps in the game (especially since matchmaking can just run any map and they don't have to make sure they have enough servers for every map).
But yeah I've played some of the candidates for the Jungle update both in the past when they were in development and a few recently and there are a lot of good choices for Valve. I wonder if they'll got with 4 maps since there are so many choices, but that would bring the map count for the update up to 5 with the Valve map which is a lot of maps.
So, a new short, eh? This could be good. I loved Expiration Date, and it made Love and War such a memorable update. The real question is whether we'll get dialogue, if any at all, from the original cast. I remember Nolan North having to cover for Grant Goodeve, and I believe Rick May if I remember correctly.

Why does this mean anything though? If it was MtP on Valves channel it'd have a different URL. All you did was tell us their both videos.
